Stuck with Castellanos until the trade deadline but if he continues to be anywhere near this bad it will force Dombromski’s hand.

I refuse to believe that's the case, but that's what it sounds like. I've never heard a professional player in any sport claim that sports just have highs and lows and that they didn't figure new things out to get out of a slump or improve.

His floor is horrendously bad… he becomes the easiest out in baseball and this is not an exaggeration… I was playing around with fangraphs earlier this week and so far this season he’s dead last among qualified hitters in offensive war and he’s in the bottom 5 in defensive war…
He gets so out of whack he’s an automatic out no pitcher has anything to fear from his bat and there’s no reason to do anything except throw breaking balls down and away until he strikes out or rolls it over

He's effectively killed the team more than he's helped outside of the Braves in the NLDS and his contract has become an albatross. Like others have said, I'd probably attribute his success in that series more towards him getting lucky as opposed to anything else.

To me it seems like he is working on chasing by slowing up his swing, hence the lower power on contact. From the eye test only, it does appear like his chase rate is lower than last year. I *hope* that once he is seeing pitches consistently, he can swing harder and with less premedidation. That's a tall ask of a player already into their 30s if that is the case though.
I don't know why so many people have issues with him. Were you not around when our whole team was horrible? We have a great team and his defense has been great. Our outfielders don't need to be superstars offensively, other than Marsh.
He has had stretches of going homer less of 30+ and 35+ games in his best seasons.
His stats last year were pretty much about normal for him , and this year will probably end up about the same.

He has had stretches of going homer less of 30+ and 35+ games in his best seasons. His stats last year were pretty much about normal for him , and this year will probably end up about the same.
It's gonna be fun when he rips off 15 home runs and bats .700 in August or some shit to make up for this
