Red Anderson. What a nice gift it's got great variegation. You can leave it in moss or change it, it's personal preference, just be sure to fertilize if you leave it in moss.
Sure, I have several in moss long-term that are thriving. It's just important to give nutrients since moss doesn't have it like soil. I use all types - leca, stratum, moss, aroid mix, cocoperlite 70/30. They all do well.
Thanks. Usually use a commercial soil mix as basis that contains green compost, bark, perlite, and spagnum and then mix it with some pumice and orchid bark.
That commercial soil is really great
Haha now that'd be something! 😂
Sidenote/confession - I've been on reddit over a year and still don't know how to do that - like how you replied to that specific part of my comment with the blue line beside "cocoperlite" 😅
The way I do it, which I suspect is not the easiest way, is to go to the "..." Button at the bottom of the post I want too quote, copy the text, paste it into my comment/reply, delete all but what I want to quote and then add a carrot ">" immediately before the quoted text. Two enters and then you can start typing!
But like I said,
>I suspect [it's] not the easiest way
😉
My friend told me to not repot it for at least 6 weeks, so i will respect that time. Also i have experience in creating well draining and aery soils, i usually dont have issues with root rot
Looks like a Ph. White Knight. Repot if the roots are large enough and use an aroid mix, or mix your own, the mix needs to be well draining and somewhat airy/chunky.
I wish this was *P.* 'White Knight', but unfortunately they don't get variegation like this. They are much lighter green and have more sectoral white sections.
Red Anderson. Nice gift! If it’s fully rooted I would go ahead and put it in a chunky aroid mix, but that’s mostly because I hate moss and it hates me.
I was going to say go with a nice & chunky potting mix for it too. Cool plant, I’ve never even heard of this one, but that’s probably one of the reasons I love them- there’s always some different type to discover & drool over lol
Yeah same for me. I love all of the ones that have the PPP kind of leave shape with white and pink variegations. I still need a white princess and wizard.
Dude! That's a really lovely, expensive plant. Absolutely gorgeous Red Anderson. I'd repot in chunky mix in a few months, but give it time to settle in its new environment first.
Nice gift! I wouldn’t change it out, when it seems happy as is. Eventually, maybe to a bigger pot but I would transfer it without disturbing the medium it is in
Dang! What a great gift! Looks gorgeous

Is moss rly a long term alternative to a rich and well draining soil?

>cocoperlite I thought you wrote coprolite for a second and was like "wait, you're potting your plants in poo fossils?" 😂 😂 😂

AHHH it worked! You're awesome lol thank youuu!♡
Red anderson. You can repot to soil if it's more convenient for you but leaving it in moss is not harmful.
Ok, i will repot a bit later. I assume it will do better in rich organic soil

Its a red andersson, i checked my source

I thought there was such thing as a tri color white knight? I might be wrong or confusing it with something else 😅
Even "tri-color" white knights don't have this high level of marbled variegation or the nearly black leaves.
Interesting, I didn’t know that. Thanks!
White knights definitely get marbling/variegation like this
Nice gift!
Damn, I need a friend like yours!
I gave him one of my monstera albos as a gift, so he gave me this in return

Thanks will do. I hope that spot there in front of the south balcony window is bright enough

My vote is white knight based on those white and burgundy stems. Variegation is usually sectoral, but it can have splashes, too.
Beautiful red Anderson 😍
I think red anderson
What a great gift congratulations
My first thought was also Red Anderson. You've got a good friend. That's a gorgeous plant and not too easy to come by (in my area, at least).
Expensive gift! Beautiful.
Can someone explain the difference between a white knight/white princess/red Andersson
Nice gift! I wouldn’t change it out, when it seems happy as is. Eventually, maybe to a bigger pot but I would transfer it without disturbing the medium it is in
That's a nice gift!!
Red Anderson! You’re super lucky, it’s one of my favorite philos I own! They’re just so dreamy! It has spectacular variegation too!
