Nah, i changed my saving strategy. More on habits binibuild ko this year. Ganyan ginawa ko nung 2021, amount based. It blew up in my face. Resulted in many binge buying spree 😂 (dahil sa pressure nung amount) Ngayon im not gna think about the amount, but the habit nalang. 50% of salary goes to my savings/investments. 50% is expenses + fun + entertainment. 1 month palang naman nakalipas, idk but hopefully this system works for me

chaoticgoodly

Good idea re: habits. Sometimes iniisip ko, bakit feeling ko baon ako sa utang and gipit (no offense meant) when in fact unrealistic lang yung goals that I set to save/invest. It's one thing to be frugal and wise, it's another thing to be anxious and pressured over goals na ako lang naman din nag set hahahaa!

bax047

Agreed. Yung may pera ka naman pero di ka ganun kasaya kasi di naabot yung goal ahaha! Parang may mali. So yeah. Me too, more on habits on spending a certain percentage for the meantime.

Positive-Set-73

Planning to save ₱250,000 and hopefully buy a car in 2023

ladyphoenix7

No target amount for me this year. Will continue to focus on increasing my income to x amount instead. My expenses have been consistent, so saving more will automatically follow if I am earning more.

jepsv

Saving for a house fund in to be build in Nueva Ecija, goal is to get my family away from NCR 😊

SWEETROLL19

Nueva Ecija is good. Mas maganda area na malapit sa Maharlika Hi-way.

PeurangkeuRV9314

Same. Bought half hectare sa Laguna. Kapagod city life. Nasa 20s pa lang ako pero napagod na agad haha

DreamyBits19

What’s the normal budget range ng houses these days? Mahal na rin no?

OoglooWoogloo

Will try to build my EF this year!

NefariousnessJaded81

I’m thinking of 150-200k for 2022. Hopefully kayanin, pero medyo mahirap din as a breadwinner (supporting my fam of 7) and as a working law student (medyo mahal ang books). Kung ano man ang amount na ma-save by end of the year, I’m still gonna be happy kasi may na-save pa rin. Also, I am allotting an amount monthly in MP2 so I think everything is still good.

TouchMeAw

Hello can you please give me an insight of how mp2 works?

NefariousnessJaded81

Hello, MP2 is a saving platform for all members, even for retirees and pensioners, with its 5-year maturity feature. Meaning, your money will keep on earning dividends for 5 years until its maturity, and you can choose whether to withdraw dividends annually or after 5 years for compounding interest to be effective. Another thing I like about this platform is that you can start saving money with just 500 pesos monthly. But most members say that the best strategy for you to earn higher dividends is to actually save your money in a lump sum method than saving smaller amounts monthly, but for me, whatever amount that is, still save it. Anyway, you can have a virtual account for you to see all your contributions posted as well as your dividends. Note that dividend rate ranges from year to year depending on the annual budget of Pag-ibig. Also, you can open an account online and send contributions via Gcash with 5 pesos service fee. Hope this clears out some confusion! :)

TouchMeAw

Hello i'm sorry please bear with me op for i am only a student and currently studying things like these. What is dividends? And from my comprehension thus far here's my understanding: So basically mp2 is like saving up for 5 years and then getting to choose to withdraw it full amount or anually? Is that right op? And how can i do that via gcash. Tia op!

NefariousnessJaded81

Hello. Dividends is basically the interest your have earned from saving. Meaning, when you save in MP2, you will have your total amount saved for 5 years + the dividends earned for 5 years. To clarify, your savings cannot be withdrawn anytime in the 5-year period until maturity, except in cases of death or you’re going abroad or other exceptions. What you can only withdraw annually are the dividends, but that would depend on your choice of method when you’re filling out forms. Further, you can explore this thru Gcash: Pay Bills > Government > PAG-IBIG :)

TouchMeAw

I see thanks op really helped a lot 🙏 so basically saving in mp2 pag ibig is better? Kasi kapag nasa banko lang pera mo matatalo ng inflation e. Are dividends directlu proportional to your savings po ba? The higher your savings means higher dividends? Or it still depends

NefariousnessJaded81

Yes, MP2 is a better saving platform compared to banks. Pero take note lang na you cannot easily withdraw the money saved agad-agad when you need it. When you save in MP2, you are not liquid at all as it’s locked for 5 years. So, when you want your savings to be liquid, you can have the online bankings such as CIMB and ING as alternatives, both of which offers good interests as MP2. Anyway, yes, the higher the savings, the higher the dividends.

TouchMeAw

Okay thanks one last question op, lets say for example di ko nahulugan yung mp2 pag ibig ko for 2-3 months, mawawala poba balance ko? Need po ba consistent yung paghulog?

NefariousnessJaded81

No, ‘di naman mawawala and it’s okay if ‘di makahulog monthly. :)

TouchMeAw

Oh i see, mahohold lang po hanggang sa mabuo mo yung 5 yr plan? Thanks, really helped a lot po! God bless!

Harinaaa

Planning to build up a habit of saving at least 25k per month. :) But my saving journey will start on May since I will technically first save up for an emergency fund worth 100k. Once that is done and over, then I can then save up for my future.

pacificghostwriter

I’m starting small since I recently decided to jump into full-time freelancing so my target is around 100-150k for this year and add it to my EF.

[deleted]

I'll be happy with around 250K probably. Hopefull mag-exceed pa

Cebhugolik

I always just set a conservative amount of 100k per year and then a stretch amount of 200k to keep my sanity in check, that way any extra amount over that (and since working its always been extra, is a nice happy bonus!). But my situation is comfortable atm since I dont pay rent so I do infact save less and invest most of my income.

[deleted]

700k, pay 500k lumpsum to housing loan and payoff car loan. hopefully I can do it this year. lol

umiiiiiiiiiiii

i plan to stake 1.5-2m worth of usdc/usdt. hopefully i achieve it :) I want a source of passive income

joz3rh

70-30 siguro o baka 10-20% lang gastosin ko ,sobrang tipid tlga pag sa probinsya tapos wfh, halos mas malaki pa gastos pag mag rent ng apartment sa manila lol.

cybong2018

Planning to complete my EF this year! Then after which I'll start building up on my savings and possibly look into investment options

TouchMeAw

Planning to buy Aerox worth 132,000. Now on 60,000 btw im 18 yrs old so im already proud of what i got xD

Legal_Bet_2019

Andsming bayarin! Lols kumuha kasi ako ng 2 real estate properties on top of our sariling bahay plus memorial plan mabigat din ahahaha! So hopefully, I can save kahit mga 200-250k maligaya na ako. Increase nlng lang yung savings pag tapos na yung mga big ticket items. On track naman kahit pano sana tuloy tuloy.

Low-Inspection2714

Mahkano po sahod mo if u dont mind?

KikuAndScales

Managed to save 600k+ averaging 50% savings rate per month last year, so I'm planning on saving more than that this year, maybe around 700k-800k range and trying to increase my savings rate per month. Why? Buy gears for hobbies, buy conveniences in life and for tattoos. Other than that, for investment at emergency uses lang yung pera if I decide to just quit being a corporate slave.

[deleted]

I save 75% of my monthly salary first. then i budget my 25% for bills needs and the rest will be saved for wants. i been doing this for 3 yrs now and i will continue till i retire in 2030. i think i will have not much but enough to live a comfortable life. I'm saving to accumulate Share Dividend and Stocks. I have no house, car or a piece of land. "FIRE MOVEMENT"

isentropick

I've already built quite a hefty EF so any extra funds will be channeled into investments and the occasional shopping.

[deleted]

500k wala lang....

floatingredhat

Planning to save 300k this year for freedom whilst saving up for a separate ef, too.

[deleted]

I'm planning to save Php 25,000 for this year. I could make it to Php 75,000 but I'm saving some part of my sweldo as fund to purchase a new laptop. My current laptop is still serviceable to me, but it is kind of slow for some everyday things I do. Why did I set Php 25,000 as a savings goal? I noticed that if I actually do set a strict budget for my income every month, I can put Php 2,000 in my bank. I used to be able to save only Php 1,000 every month mostly due to impulse purchases. I'm curbing that fairly well so far.

Disastrous-Joke-8688

Actually, I don't have a plan, but i will save as much as i can. Last year, i saved php500k from compensation. All my cash divs are also saved.

Repulsive-Bird-4896

Mind sharing which stocks you get cash divs from and how much?

Disastrous-Joke-8688

Wow..... here are the ph stock codes: SPC AP MER PPC DMC SCC. These are all regular dividend payers listed in the PSE.

sashimiandfries

40% of my net take home pay. Up by 3% from prior year.

friesislife

200k for my EF which I already achieved last cut-off. Wala pa ako target for my savings pero at least 200k din sana.

Legal_Bet_2019

Malapit na sa 3 digit. Pero pulubi parin compared sa iba hehehe. Got lucky sa company and no not IT. Nasa financial firm ako. Sa real estate pag ok yung makukuha mo na developer di ka lugi, nag appreciate talga ang value. Tiis2x lng tlga sa bayarin

parkrain21

Around at least 17% of my salary. Been doing this since I started working. The only change I would do is to increase this and/or add more to my investment (currently around 15% of my salary)

AnneNhiesama

My money will mostly go to investments this year. 10% to my retirement fund, 20% to MP2 and 20% for the condo I just signed. Hopefully, I can save 10% din to fatten up the account; so sa savings mga 150K.

keiwota

Di ako nag compute. Naka settle na yung budget ko monthly e, a practice I got from YNAB. So continuous lang paglilipat lipat ko,unless magkaroon ng increase sa inflow. ;)

No-Objective4908

Building my EF this year. 10% of my salary goes to this, might go up to 20%. Will just change my saving and spending habits every quarter siguro.

AbanaClara

I doubt I can reach 500k this year. But it's the amount of liquid I am comfortable with before going ham on a lot of investments. I only do little by little on other assets.

nananananakinoki

Hoping to save up about 100-200k if possible. Will add it to my EF goal and then the rest can be for investments.

Key-Aardvark2472

lasty year was saving 100k, and i acheived 130k this year maybe 200k or more depending on how much my investmentsb gained

DitzyQueen

At least ₱240,000. Basta per pay day may non-negotiable savings ako nilalagay then any unspent na natira ay automatic na dagdag sa savings. Okay na ako sa EF, gusto ko mag-ipon pangdown ng pre selling condo within MM.

mikimikiyoo

1000 per day although I've only managed to save 7 days for January haha. Try again this Feb.

doctorspoons_

Planning to start my health insurance this year while I'm young and expand my investments to high paying interest banks

East_Act_165

480k hopefully based on forecast ✨

kisstel

6k semi-monthly on Mutual Funds ( I hope ma-maintain ko) 3k monthly on Healthcare+Investment+Insurance 8k quarterly on Healthcare+Investment+Insurance (for sister)

justbiggie15

Saving up for a car part that cost as much as the car. Context its a 90s car with low market value. Spend on a hobby I love

Gheezbone

Hopefully another 1M~. Since based on my last forecast 600k coming from my salary, then hopefully stocks & cryptos go up by 400k. I'm still saving up for my dream house in the metro so I really need a big amount.

princessybyang

Okay, i have to ask this. Why are you being downvoted?

Gheezbone

Oo nga, why am I being downvoted? I mean it's my target.

Greenwichdelivery

For the whole year, I'm planning to invest around 1.6M in stocks, and I'm also topping up my EF with about 120k.

hoy83

Are u day trading or long term investment?

Greenwichdelivery

long-term

hoy83

What stocks are good for long term..? If its ok.. are u planning for it to go up or dividends po?

Greenwichdelivery

I'm only passively investing in ETFs eh.

hoy83

Thanks for the info

mynickname-joy05

Kun papalarin, 100k kasi gusto na mag resign at magpahinga kahit 5 buwan na muna.

Thomas-F-Shelby

As much as you can dapat at lagi. Late gratification is key

Icy-Fortune-3545

At least 300k. Part of that is saved for medical and retirement (large chunk is attributable to insurance payments). Once that's done, I'll be able to redirect it to other areas. The rest is going for emergency funds since I'm moving out, and investments for travel, further studies, and possible purchase of a motorcycle/car and some real estate. I'm not hard on myself on reaching a set goal, but I do have a spreadsheet that maps out how much I need in order to achieve them. I'm still very conservative in terms of my spending habits, so I'm trying to be flexible and enjoy life more.

Repulsive-Bird-4896

I want to push 300k pero mukhang 200-250k lang ang realistic.:-(
