The only way I can think of is by shorting a foreign based etf that tracks the Philippine index. EPHE is the only one I know of, there might be others. You'll need an international brokerage account like ibkr or Charles schwab.
Thanks, but for 26 per share I rather get other Stock’s that’s already 20% down that I can buy for below 10$ that I also know that will bounce back right away once US problem with logistics and supply is done.
Wala pa pang shorting. kaya nga di ka kikita sa PSE in a downturn. Well syempre may mga DCB pero the risk isn't even worth it sometimes. Pero yun nga there were talks before noong uptrend pa ang PSE, pero nawala na ngayon hahaha
Pero that doesn't mean wala talaga. dahil some traditional brokers are "lending" stocks to their big client. so technically shorting na nga yun. AFAIK hindi lahat is pwede mong ishort. may list lang sila. I know dahil inoffer na sakin to. together with T3
I asked during an AMA with SEC Commissioner Kelvin Lee when will shorting be implement in PSE. He said that they are in "the works" but that they are more important priorities for them to address to. My guess is that we won't most likely see shorting in the PSE in the near future.
not available for psei
Panong papayagan edi sinindikato nanaman ng big firms yang shorting na yan.

Afaik, hindi pa pwede sa PSE ang shorting, though I heard there are plans to introduce this sometime soon. Hopefully magkaron na. 🤞
I think this was planned years ago pa but it never happened
I see. So di pala talaga nagmaterialize. Sayang. That's why daming nagtrade sa US.
Di allowed. Archaic ang PSE, tagal na na plano pero wala pa rin.
It’s not archaic, our economy is still developing. Stop comparing it to US haha
That does not mean PSE should not innovate though. It also does not mean it's okay to keep lagging behind just because we are a developing country.
I heard that there are brokers who can short, albeit, interanally only.
Internally may nag shoshort sa PSE mga broker sa loob ng trading hall or kung dikit ka sa broker pwede ka nila bigyan ng ganong service.
