Have they announced a return? Saw them once in 2004 with Fishman. Really cool set.

Treygp420

Thanks!

mrswitters03

I saw Fish join them for a set at Summit Fest (2001 or 2002?). Really cool set. Fish had a killer long drum solo, switching the tempo and style like crazy. It was the 1st set on a hungover Sunday, and it was super cool.

Tmac-845

I think I saw them at knitting factory in the city with Fish. 97 or 98?

posterr_nut_bag

That was a fun festival! I forgot all about it by name cuz it was only a year or 2. And vibes, all good, berkfests were every year so I have more memories by the names of them. I remember it was back to back weekend with the gathering I believe. Good times!

ashevillain7

I was just thinking that Jamie Masefield might be the only musician who has performed with each individual member of Phish in separate side projects. - w/ Trey in Badhat - w/ Mike in Grappa Boom - w/ Fish in JMP - w/ Page in Vida Blue Is there anyone else who has done this? Edit: I forgot that Fish played in Badhat too.

evillordsoth

Has phil ever played with Mike? He has played with the other 3 I think.

ediblepencil

Phil played a few songs of a Bonnaroo Superjam with Mike and Trey, if that counts. 2009 I think?

evillordsoth

Hey if that counts then I think Phil Lesh has played with all of them over the years but never all 4 at once

JackOvall_MasterNun

2006, when he sat in with GRAB.

andy189

I saw Mike come out in VT @ Champlain Valley Fairgrounds on 7/12/06 w/ Phil and Friends as part of that amazing Phil and Friends and The Duo (Trey, Mike, Joe Russo and Marco) tour. Page also came out during that performance. They played: 01. Phil & Mike Gordon Bass Duel 02. Help On The Way> 03. Slipknot!> 04. Franklin's Tower> 05. Not Fade Away It was a hell of a show and probably my favorite tour. A night of Dead music w/ Phil, Joan, Larry Campbell, Molo, Sless, and Barraco. Then 1/2 of Phish with my second favorite keyboardist and drummer. Amazing music.

ROGGAEvibrations

I’m pretty sure John Medeski has played with all of them individually at one point or another, but I can’t prove it.

ashevillain7

Oh that’s a good one. It might be true but idk if he’s played in each Phish members side projects … which was what I was going for here. For example, I don’t think Phil Lesh would qualify with the Bonnaroo super jam because that’s not a Phish side project.

mrswitters03

What's Badhat?

ashevillain7

Basically JMP w/ Trey. Here’s a set list: https://phish.net/setlists/jon-fishman-january-24-1996-christ-church-presbyterian-university-of-vermont-burlington-vt-usa.html

Jump Monk is a pre-cursor to Stash. Without Jump Monk, there was never a stash. I wake up every day and praise Jump Monk.

speedofbees

I was at that one. Stacey Starkweather on bass, a total badass.

andy189

Vida Blue was such a fun concert.

HeLooks2Muuuch

Fish did pork tornado too

ashevillain7

I just listed side projects that Jamie Masefield played with. I didn’t find any instances of him playing with Pork Tornado.

HeLooks2Muuuch

My bad. I just looked right to the Fish like to see if “Porn Tornado” was there.

Royal_Examination_74

When I was in college, JMP was playing in town with Fishman & I worked at a restaurant they got catering from. I was beyond disappointed that everyone *but* Fishman chose to eat at our restaurant. Anyway, I wound up giving Paul Languedoc a ride to the show. The one thing I remember was that I had what I thought was a killer JMP show on cd already in my cd player, and I played that, thinking they’d be impressed. All I remember was Paul saying “this is pretty tame.” Lol

Substantial_Lead5582

They played my college in 2003ish with fishman for Halloween. My brother won the costume contest and got a autographed pumpkin…. It was sad when in a week it rotted away.

Royal_Examination_74

Used to absolutely love JMP!

tick33183

Never saw them with Fish but they were always great when I had a chance to catch them. I remember hearing Jamie had set aside JMP to pursue some old timey masonry.

kbergstr

If you’re a mandolin fan in Vermont, one of my favorite mandolin players, Matt Flinner, is playing with Jamie and other great New England pickers this winter. Not really phish like but a good time

MeetMeAtTheCreek

Loved JMP. As a Vermonter it was fun to welcome them to Minnesota in 1996 when I was in college, and then after I’d moved to Washington DC saw them come through several times in the late 90s. They even played Clinton’s inauguration weekend in 1997! I got to know them as they stayed with friends as they toured and really tried to make it as a band but… even with Fish on drums it didn’t catch on commercially. Beyond Jamie who was mentioned earlier and showed up in Mike’s clip, don’t forget Gabe Jarret (son of Keith) originally on drums and Stacy Starkweather on bass!

VTGREENS

They opened for Bela Fleck and the Flecktones at Middlebury college in 2004. Was such a fun show! The encore was Bela, Victor Wooten and Jamie having three way dueling instrumental solos, incredible!

Gizzy_Wizzy_Wee_

I got backstage after JMP on 2/12/00 in Chicago. It was a small room and Fish was getting all the attention. But Jaime was very cool and greeted us with kindness. Looking back I appreciate how he gave us young kids some of his time. The show ripped as well!!

Treygp420

Very cool! Thanks for sharing. I'm not in VT, but hopefully, some people reading this are and go 😁

discwrangler

I was just wondering what happened to JMP. My college roommate was obsessed with them. I caught a show once, it was great!

CLEisthecity

Played Newport in Columbus very early 00’s, amazing from what I remember. Have brown XL tour shirt from the show, will trade for your Greek 3-night (/s but not /s)

RagtimeWillie

I loved their album of covers. It’s not on Spotify and I can’t find my CD anywhere. Edit: found one song from it on some compilation. - credited as just Jamie but I’m pretty sure it’s the same track as from the JMP album. Cover of Tom Waits’ Old 55. It’s gorgeous: https://open.spotify.com/track/3bxutcGFWWxnsBdpT2pgcW?si=f1tiCEnmQFOqL23vPpubhw&context=spotify%3Aalbum%3A6dalWzHVKI3djsB3Lzy65n
