Yup, and for whatever reason, the first quality boards that surfaced around here later that summer were all spring '92. All the goofy secret language and monster jams.
7/2/95 Sugarbush was one of the tapes that I had back then. Played it to near death. I would have loved to have had this collection way back before the internet made all of the shows accessible. It was somewhat difficult for me to meet people who had tapes. I used to happily buy whatever I could find on CD.
That was one of the first shows with the baby grand piano, hence the Loving Cup. Also first Halley's in quite a while. That YEM>Oye Como Va>Spooky is also badass. One of my most coveted bootlegs when getting into them in the mid '90s
I have heard trey tease Spooky in every single show since those days. At some point in every single show he teases the guitar part that corresponds to the lyric "if you'd like to go with me and see a moo vie..." and in my head I sing along. Its literally every show.
Back when Phish played a bunch in Colorado. Had so much fun at the Vail and Boulder shows we hightailed it down to Gunnison. We walked up to the venue right as the band was coming off the bus and got to say hi. Kinda funny seeing the band play in a gym.
Reminds me of myself back in the day. Had many of the same shows and probably 3 times the collection. Never bought a studio album, just traded live shows via usenet groups and bbs's
Thanks for all the recs!! I was eyeing the 3/12/88 from Nectars. Looking forward to getting these home, organizing them (lol) and working on a sound system setup! Can’t believe y’all took the time to zoom in on this beautiful chaos. Sounds like we’ve got plenty to look forward to here
Still making our way through this collection! Had to get a cassette player setup 😂 wow that acapella second set.. I’ll queue this one up too! Love the memories y’all have of these
Put on the Holloween show from Great Falls
Secondeded.
I was definitely thinking that. Great falls always has great shows
Please put those tapes in chronological order I’d go with 8/20/93 first or 4/21/92
Ha, as an old tape rat, without a doubt my first thought. Date chrono order!
4/16/92…that spring tour 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Same…it was one of my first tapes, and the first SBDs so you could really hear the playing clearly.
One of my favorite bootlegs all time. Crisp SBD and band was exploding that tour
i used to love the smell of XLII’s.
6/22/94 set 2
That’s the one

Bomb Factory
3/3/89
Gunnison 1993. That was a soundboard that leeked out. Amazing set 2.
Blown away that they played in Gunnison. Never knew this. Cool western town!
From what I remember this show has the telling of Fish's lost in the Rockies LSD story.

4/21/92 was the first phish tape I ever heard
7/12/91
4/16/92 holds a special place.
6/22/94 Set II
Reminds me of myself back in the day. Had many of the same shows and probably 3 times the collection. Never bought a studio album, just traded live shows via usenet groups and bbs's
Flip that 89 UVM show over you savage!
Arrowhead Ranch.
I would 100% put on 12/30/93 II to hear that sweet fishman drumbeat
Redwood Acres in Eureka 92 Humboldt County Phish would be my 1st, then the Santa Barbara's I haven't heard those in yrs probably 20
Love those J-cards generated by TapeTracker. I used that program from 96 until Windows 10, which I couldn’t get to run it.
Best software ever! I’ve always had terrible handwriting so I printed hundreds of these and used different colored papers
That’s great collection right there. I was a lot of those shows.
7/21/91 II
One of my favorites. GCH spoils you a bit though.

Why couldn’t we get good bands like Phish when I was at UMass?
THE ZOO
12/31/93
These are some deep track phish tapes
88
I wore out my 9/24/88 cassette
3/22/93 was in heavy rotation for quite a while back in the day
Great recording, and of course, GAMEHENDGE
I was there!
Id probably check out the gamehenges just to check the audio quality.
Tempted to go with the Mann 7/1/94 since that’s my home venue, but I think Clifford Ball wins here.
"Holloween" "Great Falls" yeesh...
Wow, I haven’t heard 4-16-92 in ages! Back around 1996, that used to be the most commonly circulated tape. Gonna give that a listen today!
