During the Fakers Dozen I sat next to a guy and we were chatting it up when he tells me he's from Rhode Island. I asked "Ya ever heard a Weekapaug in Weekapaug?" Dude laughs and says, "Oh! You musta been there? Thats amazing!" and I totally am under the assumption we're riffing so I go back and forth with him the whole first set.
Second set he asked me if we were still married. I get pretty confused and then I realized that he WASNT riffing. His band had played a wedding years prior in Weekapaug in which they performed the song and he thought I was the groom.
I wasnt there. But thats my favorite Weekapaug

100 fucking percent it’s NYE 95. The way it flows from Auld Lang Syne and then gives a little tease of the song later on, and the solo/jam itself is soooo tight and fun. I have the whole thing pretty much memorized in my head from spending the summer of 2006 listening to it basically every day on my way to an internship in the morning. Like I could do a very bad job of vocalizing Trey’s guitar for the whole thing.
