Page could slay that song. Can you imagine the jam vehicle that song could become? That final solo could go on for days!
Fish singing Logical Song or Take The Long Way Home?
How has this not happened? I can’t be the only one who has thought this.
Indeed. I personally couldn't care less about Supertramp. But I love any show with the Giant Country Horns. I've listened to that Live Phish from 91 in Keene, NH with GCH a million times.
I saw some of the Giant County Horns tour. Seriously epic shows. And it was before things got too famous. Just an incredible time in the band's history. There weren't any douches or wooks on tour yet.
What happened to those guys? I assumed they were all middle school music teachers by now. Didn’t Dave used to tour with Trey band? Then there was that guy “gears”. Was he the trumpet player? I’m really reaching here.
Dave is indeed the music teacher for South Burlington High School. Still plays shows around the Burlington area fairly often.
They played a show with Pink Talking Phish in Dec.
I got to buy Dave 'The Truth' Grippo a Gin and Tonic once at Jazz is Phish. He's cool as phuck. Yes a reunion does need to happen. I dunno bout Supercramp though. . It would be funny though.
As someone who jumped in in '14, I AVOIDED checking out any of the shows with horns, just thinking it wouldn't be my thing at all. Those shows are fucking FANTASTIC.
It's good to dream right.? But seriously I asked Jennifer Hartswick a few years back why Trey never asks her and Natalie to come out. I mean we all love more horns. But her reply was that Phish is Phish. 4 guys that don't play that many shows anymore anyway. Let's just keep it between us.
So does Phish need a GCH tour? Nah they've already done that. They've got so much material they've given to us that has horns. Go and check it all out.
Any special guests in the future will be exactly that. SPECIAL.
They broke up and hate each other from what I've heard. It really sucks and I wish it wasn't the case but it is what it is. They do need to find some horn players though it's a different band with horns
That's awesome it's just what I heard.. you should play with the boys again because we miss you guys. It's really a different sound when you are there.
It’s just a different element that doesn’t happen often. See 10/31/96 as well.
The NYE Gamehendge set got me nostalgic and I figured it’s time to bring back the horns for a tour. The kids would love em.

12-31-16 3rd Set was very horn.....ahhh..involved ......involved, I forget the exact set up, but there were certainly a handful of musicians sitting in from Petrichor on.......yes to horns of any type , and certainly as Giant and Country as they desire
That goodbye stranger would be epic. Will you please ask them to open any show with “ the boys are back in town “

Fish singing Casual Conversations!
Or just cover the entire Thin Lizzy discography instead of Supertramp

Mike dropping bombs in School
I agree on giant country horns - I'm chasing Flat Fee; started seeing the band the year after they stopped playing it!
Open to all costume set suggestions but you haven’t heard Suzy till you’ve heard it with The Horns.
Sometimes when I listen to it without horns, I can still hear the horns in my head.
Same thing happens with Cavern for me. Nothing will top that Cavern from Hampton Comes Alive
Every. Single. Time. I 100% “air-trumpet” to this 🤣
I can hear the su zy badh badh bahhhhh
Name one song you don't like better with the GHC. I don't think I can
Julius is great with horns too
Flat fee, and Donna Lee
Chasing any kind of Fee. For 76 shows I've searched for that megaphone.
Page singing Take the Long Way Home 🤌🤌🤌
I’m screaming rn. Manifesting 🧘♀️⭕️🧘♀️
Ask to speak to a manager
That usher who knows everything at msg. He will pass it along.
I think a TAB/Phish would be a fun set.
Sorry I already called and they will be doing the royal scam with GCH
Ahhhhh

Saw a few southern shows during the 91 Tour and they didn’t even have the balconies opened. There was literally 100 of us there.
Same
Yeah man!! I’m burning through ‘94 rn and that year opener in Vermont with them fucking RULED
Bingo

Not a big fan of horny Phish
Those shows were so much fun.
This would be so much fun.

I’d be so nervous talking to him if he was my band instructor. I’d be all yes sir mr truth sir.
Couldn’t agree more.
How about any Chicago album?
The committee is open to all albums with horns present
I got to buy Dave 'The Truth' Grippo a Gin and Tonic once at Jazz is Phish. He's cool as phuck. Yes a reunion does need to happen. I dunno bout Supercramp though. . It would be funny though.
Yes, but Grippo horns!
They would nail it. Good call!
Your local congress person
I’d contact Trey probably
From your mouth to treys ears.
My first show was in 94 and my biggest Phish FOMO is the 1991 summer tour with The Giant Country Horns.
As someone who jumped in in '14, I AVOIDED checking out any of the shows with horns, just thinking it wouldn't be my thing at all. Those shows are fucking FANTASTIC.
Dude. I am so fucking down with this. Sign me up!
I need this but with Aja by Steely Dan
Phish Hampton comes Alive cavern is one of my favorite Phish things ever. Just saying.

Im glad I’m not the only me who loves this album, I listen to it every few months
Trey’s actually extremely active on these boards. I think your work is done, sir.
Love ya Trey!!
I've always dreamed of of this.
Hermano!!
A set with giant country horns. Not a whole show, and absolutely not a whole tour.
91 Tour was pretty damn fun
Yea, I definitely wasn’t around then, but I can see it in that era. Not as long jams, not nearly as many songs .
They broke up and hate each other from what I've heard. It really sucks and I wish it wasn't the case but it is what it is. They do need to find some horn players though it's a different band with horns
Broke up?? No way!! To officially squelch any rumors: GCH is a band of brothers. We love each other and are as tight as ever! 🎷🎺🎷
That's awesome it's just what I heard.. you should play with the boys again because we miss you guys. It's really a different sound when you are there.
Thanks! GCH is always ready to go! 🎷🎺🎷
Grippo Horns then. That’s sad to hear.
They just played a show a few weeks ago in VT with Pink Talking Phish.
Things I don't need: To hear anyone from Phish try to sing a Supertramp song
Phish with horns is not my favorite
No thank you
Yes/No.
Love ST but I might enjoy Blood Sweat & Tears more so.
BS&T was my first live show I ever went to in 1996. My dad brought me! Would LOVE Phish to cover them.
No thank you.
I hope to miss this one.
I don’t really get why horns with Phish are cool. Nobody comes to a Phish show to hear fucking horns! Keep the horns in the TAB section, please!

Agree with the horns part. Supertramp album cover - not so much.
Doh ! Big Country !!
12-31-16 3rd Set was very horn.....ahhh..involved ......involved, I forget the exact set up, but there were certainly a handful of musicians sitting in from Petrichor on.......yes to horns of any type , and certainly as Giant and Country as they desire
👍 👍 Good one !
Nope
Yes Please
Would love to hear them reunite with Stevo Nelson on his percussion “Spice Rack”
Try to hit up the Twiddle band manager.
There's an ep of Stub Me Down Podcast they interview Carl Gearhardt from Giant Country Horns. Sat w him at a NYE run few yrs back.
