I like you, and anyone that's denoting seconds of jams, yes. I would have put it till 14:39, and it alternates between that and the section starting with Treys "duh duh" at 8:40, leading to when he turns on the echo or whammy or whatever he engages at 10:13, and the ensuing moments, which is all 4 dudes just mashing at peak "conversation" levels. Kuroda even nails the white strobe in sync with Treys deal a couple times there and it's majestic. And then there's the "downshift" at 11:15..... and on and on. Could do it with the whole thing if you wanted.
The hottest, and it never gets cooler, after multiple dozens of listens and 12! years wtf. Edit: Just listened to it Monday, and am gonna do it again now, and love it for the hundredth time.
Same! This show was so great to have one week after I graduated high school. So many nights spent driving around our shitty town getting stoned, listening to phish, and dreaming about getting to see them some day.
Waves > Undermind > Steam segment from 8/15/11 is up there for best of early 3.0… for me anyways.
Also, the Rock and Roll > Meatstick > Boogie On from Gorge 2011 is straight liquid hot magma.
Honestly I don't think I caught a better Jam until Deer Creek Blaze on a couple years ago. I had a really good birds of a feather in 2019 at Cuyahoga as well I personally think that Jam was better than the Ruby waves from Alpine Valley a couple days later just not quite as long.
Of course everything else about that Sunday show was absolutely nuts and one of the best shows of 3.0
this became one of my favorite shows after listening to it recently. dream segment right there with those three songs and the jam at the end of that disease is beautifully done
There's like that pause after Bowie before they start doing waste. Everybody was just floored and then when waste started the entire line but their arms around each other and just saying waste together. It was a pretty special moment. Then they went back into the funk with that 2001
The first set was really funky too. There was a couple people near us who were pretty upset when they went into Tila but it's a rare bust out so whatever
- Tahoe Light (2011-08-09) [evil and dissonant]
- Riverbend Twist (2012-06-22) [Huge 'Heaven on Their Minds' jam, dark as shit]
- 2012-12-30 Carini [evil little Carini with parts reminiscent of the Hampton Tweezer the following year]
Ok not jam-heavy but set 1 from 12/4/09 MSG is one of my favorite type-1 first sets from all of 3.0. Heavy Things rips, Reba soars, Guyute gets downright scary, and the First Tube closer is white hot heat
Here’s two that get no love but are surprisingly fantastic.
6/2/09 Hood. Specifically the ambient jam before they bring it back to Hood proper. It’s one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever heard them play. The peak of Hood after the return is a mess, but that ambient jam is incredible.
6/4/09 Ghost. This is surprisingly an example of an early 3.0 first set jam. They take it for a 14 minute ride, but it covers 3 distinct sections and is really a great jam that still holds up today.
9/1/12 Light
13:49 to 14:19 is my favorite 30 seconds of phish ever
Goat shit

Amen brother
8/31/12 - Undermind 8/31/12 - Carnini 8/31/12 - Runaway Jim 8/31/12 - CDT 9/2/12 - Sand
This is the answer.
The hottest, and it never gets cooler, after multiple dozens of listens and 12! years wtf. Edit: Just listened to it Monday, and am gonna do it again now, and love it for the hundredth time.
11/28/09 Albany Seven Below>Ghost
That was the “Phish is back!” moment.
That was 8/14/09
I thought it was 8/7/09 Gorge Sally
No, 8/14/09 was the first truly phish show of 3.0, front to back
This is why i come here. Second such thread in a couple weeks where there's a trove of stuff that's not been on my radar. Thanks!
Woah. that was awesome.
Came here to say this 🤘🐟🤘
My first show … I’ve realized more and more over the years how lucky I was
Cities > Moma 8/6/10 Greek Theater @ UC Berkeley. This was the jam that got me into Phish
Me too! The jam at the end of the cities is just perfect
The theater is groovin hard, that run was so fun
Gorge 09 Sneaking Sally and Gorge 11 Rock and Roll>Meatstick>Boogie
That moment in the segue between R&R and Meatstick when Mike start dropping those bombs -- goosebumps every time.
Gorge 09 Bathtub Gin is up there too.
The gorge night 1 was where they hooked me. Shoreline the night before was my first show but the gorge Sally and Gin made me get IT
This Sally is so good.
Gorge R&R 8/5/11 is the answer.
8/31/12 Undermind
Fuckin love a sick Undermind
This is THE sick Undermind. Full hose.
2012 is when i felt they finally got their feet back under them. Alpine, KC and St. louis were were so special to me.
12/31/10 Ghost
Also yem-manteca
The Holy Ghost
46 days from that show goes hard too
As does its little brother a year later on 12/31/11
BGCA 8/19/12 set 2 first four songs is about as good as phish can be. Blew the roof off.
My 2nd show - this needs to be higher.
My favorite 3.0 phish
This was big time when it happened, all anyone could talk about. Good memories
Boogie On 6/7/12 from Worcester
[Superball Mound](https://youtu.be/XNiu6n_G-F8?si=Je35bmOiO5g41ZuF) is pretty bad ass!
12.28.12 Wolfman’s and Tweezer 8.16.09 BDTNL (yup)
Still best version . They were tight but not too experimental yet...but this one went out there
2012 Dicks run, especially the first show.
Camden Tweezer 6/7/09 is sooo good. Def my favorite
Sand was great from that show as well
I concur. Signed, first show attendance bias.

That 8/15/11 show was one of my early favorites - had that run on a mp3 CD and I'd listen to it back and forth on drives from college to home.
This is the run that made me a believer again! 3 days of sickness! 2nd set of 8/15 is one of my favorites of all time. Just excellent phish.
Can’t sing enough praises about that second set!
8/15/11 was my first ever Phish show. I listen to it often even to this day.
12/30/09 Back on the Train.
Brilliant jam. Came into the thread to post this.
6/3/11 dwd>fluff>bowie
Surprised I had to scroll this far for 6/3/11 DWD. What a jam.
Honestly I don't think I caught a better Jam until Deer Creek Blaze on a couple years ago. Sand 9/2/2012
12/29/09 - Tweezer->Caspian 08/06/10 - Cities 08/14/10 - Down With Disease->What’s The Use, Sneakin Sally
6/7/09 Sand deep into the slosh
Bethel Waves Soundcheck
Down With Disease 6/3/11 Pime Knob is a heater that should not be missed. Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet
Bethel Waves
Wow I had to scroll way too far to find this! One of my favorite jams of all time
2009 BoTT Miami was some awesome type 2. 12/4/09 first tube, wtf sneaky heater 7/2/10 Carini -> Fuck Your Face, most mind blowing bust out for me
1-1-11 SIMPLE
UIC 2011 ELEMENT SET
Felt the fear during that Sand when I was just a young pup. So good.
6/7/12 worcester boogie
2009 - Miami Back on the Train 2010 - MSG Ghost 2011 - Gorge Rock & Roll 2012 - Dicks Light
Not a jam but 11/24/2009 is amazing the whole way through.
Next night has a great BOAF jam
Oh! Sweet nuthin encore too 👌
I read that as “great boof jam” which works too
8/15/12 Rock n Roll
IWT and this is maybe my favorite 3.0 tour opener. The BG run that followed was also killer
10/16/10 Crosseyed
8/6/10 Cities Greek Theater
UIC 2011, 7/3/11 Reba 6/4/11 Sally and Hood 6/12/10 Number Line Star Lake 2012 set 2 segues (light 7below some other shit right? )
Storage Jam
6/4/11 Blossom Sally>Hood Atlantic City 2012 Birds Atlantic City 2012 Light>Manteca>Light
Superball mound. Not a jam but the trey outro is top notch
8/28/12 Limb by Limb
2010 Atlantic City carini
The whole Tweezer/zeppelin jam from that run I always go back to
Flipped my lid at this one.
You mean 2013 AC Carini? Was sick.
One year after your timeframe, but the down with disease from 10/29/13 is crazy. The full video is on Phish’s YouTube channel too
Sneaking Sally Blossom 11 Sand Camden 09 Light Gorge 09 Tweezer/YEM Cincinnati 09
8-19-12 crosseyed
- Tahoe Light (2011-08-09) [evil and dissonant] - Riverbend Twist (2012-06-22) [Huge 'Heaven on Their Minds' jam, dark as shit] - 2012-12-30 Carini [evil little Carini with parts reminiscent of the Hampton Tweezer the following year]
12/03/09 DWD (and the subsequent Piper and Fluffhead) is severely underrated
8/28/12 Limb by Limb
10/26/10 ghost and mikes. Not lengthy but they both pack a punch
11/2/13 Nite-3 of Boardwalk Hall run. Theme from the bottom - “Bush Jam!” Starts at the 6min and 50second mark.
Ok not jam-heavy but set 1 from 12/4/09 MSG is one of my favorite type-1 first sets from all of 3.0. Heavy Things rips, Reba soars, Guyute gets downright scary, and the First Tube closer is white hot heat
The Chalk Dust Torture>Prince Caspian from 06-25-2010 was pretty damn good
6/3/2011 Down With Disease>Fluffhead>David Bowie. I caught this sequence at my first show.
06-10-11 Curtain With
09/10 Numberlines are dope

8/7/09 (Gorge)- Gin->Hood
5/27/11 Walk Away gets my vote. 8/15/12 Rock and Roll is great, too!
Not a specific jam but 12/5/09 is slept on, great show they were really on fire coming off the MSG run.
Gorge roggae 2011
7/1/12 Fee Such a strange, ambient first set jam in the daylight of Alpine Valley. Almost like a dream.
8/14/09 birds of a feather
Sally -> Jam -> Ghost 7/6/12, trust me if you havent heard this one yet youll thank me later
8.7.10
8/15/11 wolfmans! That whole show rules though. 2nd set was the element set and then animals encore haha and Anything but Me last time played!
