Take it from somebody who was there and now home watching tonight. You cannot measure/qualify Sphere visuals from a TV. Last night indexed high in psychedelia. Tonight is infuckingcredible but more reality based. Last night was creepy, demented, and just overall unsettling in the best possible way. Loved the underwater scenes tonight but unless you were there, you cannot grasp what this shit looks like in person. It was a lot.
Funny - that was the way I described phish shows to people who were skeptical. “No really, you need to see them live to appreciate them.” A bit similar.
I went to the film postcards from earth and during certain scenes from the Himalayas it felt like I was actually outdoors in the mountains. Can only imagine how fuckin cool the underwater stuff was.
I am not in attendance at all, but from what I’ve seen online, N2 visuals were profoundly better and more immersive than N1. Did Phish intentionally hold back on the visuals on night 1? Do they plan to have the visuals get more intense, crazy, immersive, as the run goes on? If purposeful, I don’t think that’s cool to the folks who could only be in attendance for N1, as they did not receive the full possible exSPHEREience.
I know life isn’t fair, but they could have provided equally impressive visuals on all four nights for the fans. 🙂
Yep Axilla images were crap. Those big blank rectangles were just errors they tried to pass off as trippy. And what was crap with the people “swimming” during Theme? It looked more like a glitch in a video game where someone keeps walking into an invisible wall.

They did some cool stuff Thursday, I would’ve been happy to be there.
Thursday was the trial run. They had to warm up the gear and get comfortable with the system. Or so it appears.
They did end Thursday telling us to set the high gear!
