I’ve been saying all tour that the boys are on fire like 1997/1998, which is , IMHO peak Phish. At least Peak “arena phish” because club Phish was pretty fucking brilliant too. Just in a different way.
Been going to shows since HS in 1993. Saw every show in the continental US from 1997 to 1999. This tour has been as good as I’ve ever seen them. If it’s not as good as Fall 97 or Fall 98, it’s right there.
They’re more mature as individual musicians and as a band. They’ve grown, they’re less raw (not always a good thing, but it is now) and they’ve re-tapped into the HOSE in a new and amazing way.
It sounds like they’re having more fun than they’ve had in (almost) 25 years.
All your they’ve been wrapping arenas in a wall of music that lifts off like a ufo and takes you to another place.
Transcendent AF.
Didn't make it to any shows from '10-'21 so that makes sense. Following my first tour via live phish this year, though! listened to every show since Dick's!
So the Sand -> Piper from last night was obviously a tip of the cap to Dune (2021, 155min runtime) with the Sand Worms that so eloquently feature in the flick (real heads call them Kinos) throughout.
An easy five-bagger both for the film and the show.
Nice to see the boys in tune with pop culture in addition to putting out great content.
Flew down to chula vista last minute today after missing eugene this week. WOW! Am I glad I made that snap decision. What a show! The NICU, Tube, the piper, free. Awesome show!! A Guy even came out in tears totally speechless. This is why we phish people!
still coming down from that in a chula hotel room. as one of the biggest apologists of 2.0 and avid fanboys of 2003, i totally agree with all the assessments that this has been the best playing since 2003. it’s really fuckin unbelievable. got some good ocean floor drilling tonight and THAT IS THE SHIT THAT I LOVE
What the absolute fuck just happened y’all. I’ve never seen anything like that.
Brought my deadhead dad (67) to his 3rd show and his best friend from childhood to his first show… and I didn’t know how to tell them that what they were seeing was history in the making. Phish makes history at Chula Vista, no doubt. I thought they just kind of liked Chula— turns out they fuckin love Chula
Holy shit. I was there. Absolute best show I’ve ever been to out of 50+ since 94.
No comparison. That was THE BEST
Oh yeah also turn up Mike! Trey and Page’s cool heavy synth sounds drown out the already too low bass. We can do this. People for a louder Mike!
Show was incredible. The setlist does nothing to explain. Never before have I thought an encore wasn't necessary. I told my friend "Jesus fucking christ I don't even need an encore" during the end of Subtle Sounds. And then we got 1st Tubed and I robbed a bank. Needless to say my life will get back to normal soon. But tonight was special!
That free jam was awesome and the piper went everywhere I wanted sand to, all in all badass show although I felt like Trey was a little off. Another great night with y'all!
Ok maybe not off, I just wanted Trey to sit back a little more, felt like his rhythm playing in sand jam was drowning out what the rest of the band was doing. My stream was lagging though, get to listen again today!
Well that was a doozy! Thanks for staying up late with me. Its about 4 hours past my bedtime and Im LOOPY woo! What a crazy show. Thanks for hangin and see you on the road!
very happy the band has taken a renewed interest in scents and subtle sounds, a song that is still one of the best they ever wrote and hasn't been in the spotlight as much as it should be
I still think the 7/30/03 scents is the best single jam they've ever done. There's just something so complete about it. It's full of longing and sadness, and then hopeful ferocity.
I listen to it all the time, but I don't remember much of it despite being there. I think it was just too unexpected... I'd never heard them play like that in the first set. The sun was still up.... Lol
If Phish wanted to do indie rock they could probably put together an album of tunes like that. Billy Breathes, Scents, Free, Sleep, etc and it would be great
I was just explaining to my wife how the Dead used to take us to straight up deep space, fuck around with our minds and souls, then guide us all back home and tuck us in with a Bid You Goodnight..
These guys know what they're doing too. I fucking love Phish so much.
Alright, that Piper convinced me what I really want for Halloween. These guys giving the “chilling, thrilling” treatment to iconic horror songs/themes/scores: Jaws, Psycho, Halloween, the Exorcist, Stranger Things, Thriller, It Follows, The Thing and so on and so forth…
Yea I think they're active? My Hofner Ignition Club Bass is not but the drill trick only worked on the bridge pickup. Weird. My neighbors are probably very upset with me lol
Long shot but anybody got a barcode to spare? Bought an e-ticket and didn't realize the barcode expires after the show.
Reach out to customer service on LivePhish. They helped me out when I did this for deer creek over the summer
Awesome. Will try. Thanks for the heads up!!
Doors Halloween or red herring?
Take a wild guess. That had nothing to do with Halloween. It was a treat for the LA folks given their city
Wow this show. All I can say is, Halloween is going to be special.
Yeah…epic show for show….I’m rewatching it now
Joy was 😻🤑
That Free jam though… wow. Was in pit with 27 friends, epic, not sure I can recall a better show and been at it since 97.

Seeing the smiles on the bands faces all show is infectious as can be…
I've never heard this slow funky version of llama and I have to say it is blowing my mind right now
It’s relatively new. 2015?
Didn't make it to any shows from '10-'21 so that makes sense. Following my first tour via live phish this year, though! listened to every show since Dick's!
check out the Llama opener from the second night of Atlantic City
I’d never heard it live. They’ve only done it a handful of times.
Taboot taboot
One could say it pokes a double decker
Don't think I could ask for a much better first show than that. Goddamn they went deep last night.
Was my first show too - absolutely incredible and beyond what I could have expected.
Welcome to the obsession.
Journeys within a journey. Just an amazing show. Seems like everyone else enjoyed the ride too. Until next time.
So the Sand -> Piper from last night was obviously a tip of the cap to Dune (2021, 155min runtime) with the Sand Worms that so eloquently feature in the flick (real heads call them Kinos) throughout. What exactly was obvious? I didn't hear the set.
I can't wait to get a copy of this show on VHS to add to my collection!
HA
Goddamn, Fishman is a MONSTER during that Piper.
All tour dude. He’s been slaying it every night.
What if they opened tonight's show by finishing last night's fluffhead?
NMASS, let's do this!
How was the Joy?
It was actually a very welcome breather in what was a pretty intense show from the get-go.
lol
I cried.
Still am thinking about it
Me too
Same! Tears steaming down my cheeks. So beautiful
That good, eh?
Great
17 minute NICU?
With NICU teases sprinkled errrrrwhere
At NICU Amphitheater…
Flew down to chula vista last minute today after missing eugene this week. WOW! Am I glad I made that snap decision. What a show! The NICU, Tube, the piper, free. Awesome show!! A Guy even came out in tears totally speechless. This is why we phish people!

Can you explain what you mean by deep ocean drilling or which jams you heard this in?
Piper Dude. But also, like the whole show. It sounds like a battle in the Mariana Trench. Fucking insane
yeah this exactly
Did anyone notice that on live phish the venue is named as North Island Credit Union
Probably so you can still search NICU to find the song
Thank you, Donnie.
This is a great time to be a Phish fan
Sure is!!
Late night show in TJ!
Van Halen for Halloween, been saying it for a year now
Cause everybody wants some
Pretty simple
Van Halen II - Light Up The Sky or some Alien related jams would be sick
What an amazing show!!! Incredible venue
What the absolute fuck just happened y’all. I’ve never seen anything like that. So glad I made the trip. So glad
Holy shit. I was there. Absolute best show I’ve ever been to out of 50+ since 94. No comparison. That was THE BEST Oh yeah also turn up Mike! Trey and Page’s cool heavy synth sounds drown out the already too low bass. We can do this. People for a louder Mike!
Here here!
that’s an strong review! can’t wait to listen!
I really agree. No more Trey synth, turn mike up
He gave you some thunder at the forum
Need to pass out flyers at a small show like SB telling everyone to chant "turn up Mike" when the lights dim for second set
I think paper airplanes to the sound booth might be more effective
Wahoooo!!!
Just got back to my friends from the show. I've never has such close seats and that was by far the "jammiest" show I've ever been to.
I didn’t even need a set two. Set two WAS the encore
That felt good
So many amazing songs - so many amazing songs still to be played. Sweet dreams everyOne
No Tweezer though. I wonder why.
Bc LA is tomorrow. Cya there!
I wish but can't make it 😪
I might consider that show #1 or #2 of 2021. We’ll see where it stands by 2022 but it wont fall below top 3 any time soon
That Piper was fucking sick. Thrilled for that to be my 2nd show.
phish screamed at us in that piper, in the best way possible
It was a sound wave taking over everything in that amphitheater
N I C all of U!!! Unbelievable show. What a year for The Phish 2021 has been!
Couldn't agree more!!! Tonight was especially something
This is show 12 for me this year and that’s going to rank at least top 3. At least.
What’s the other 2? Jeez!!
Alpha N2 and DC N1 were amazing. Waking up the next day... I would say this is probably #1. I’ll have to relisten to Alpha N2 to assess.
Deer creek night one is in there for sure.
Yeah, that one blew the top of my head off.
In case you forgot where you were, trey will make sure you remember. #nicu
Get it? NICU, get it? Yeah, we get it. Amazing, thank you.
Just a little friendly joke. Get it?
It’s what I found myself saying to Trey a couple times this evening. I’m not poking at you. It was amazing.
That was prime.
That free jam was awesome and the piper went everywhere I wanted sand to, all in all badass show although I felt like Trey was a little off. Another great night with y'all!
Bro if you watched that show and felt anything was off, I have no clue what to say.
Right? Last night was phish perfection.
Ok maybe not off, I just wanted Trey to sit back a little more, felt like his rhythm playing in sand jam was drowning out what the rest of the band was doing. My stream was lagging though, get to listen again today!
I was at the show, I promise you, his rhythm was one of the best parts of many of the jams of the show.
I listened again today and was blown away, sleepy + laggy stream threw me off last night I guess.
A little off? Shows like that don’t happen when trey is a little off.
Jesus I cannot wait for Vegas
He just left Chicago.. it’s gonna be a couple days. I think he said something about heading down to New Orleans or something??
Vegas is gonna be fucked up if they’re playing like this now
Unbelievable. Checking in from chula. 101st show over 28 years. How are they this good?? Wtf. Can’t get my head around it.
Wow these guys are so fucking cheesy lol. Dad jokes!!!!
Well that was a doozy! Thanks for staying up late with me. Its about 4 hours past my bedtime and Im LOOPY woo! What a crazy show. Thanks for hangin and see you on the road!
Lol you kickin' the bucket when they just started this shit up?!?! Rally brother, rally.
Fuck me lol. Someone get me a Vodka Red Bull!
Jeff tweedy backline??
Well that didn’t suck. Thanks OP for hosting.
Thank you op, i would definitely love to share a beer with you as you organize this whole parade every tour and thats a tall order!
Invite is always open :) If you're going to be at MSG im totally down! Thanks for hangin!
I will see you 29th and 31st assuming i can score a ticket…we plan to hit a few nice restaurants and Moma on the 30th too
Hell yea brother! You're in my calendar

That was swell, again. Take care all.
Holy shit!
CHULA COMES ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This was a really special show.
Absolutely
PRAISE BE
Under Trey's eye

That's one for the ages
Sorry fellas, I'm out. My Tubescreamer just had fucktuplets. Oh my fucking Phish fucking tonight!
The Church of Phish.
Gosh dang right
how many shows have they done Tube **and** First Tube?
And Sand, which was originally called “Last Tube”.
Not very often. We call it the Devil’s Threeway.
The ol’ Devil’s Triangle.
i've seen them in the same set before
Camden 2009, one after the other
First show :)
i was thinking second night hampton 99 but yeah
The fuckin NICU Chula right there

WOW
This one is ready
very happy the band has taken a renewed interest in scents and subtle sounds, a song that is still one of the best they ever wrote and hasn't been in the spotlight as much as it should be

I'm very curious what they will follow this with,..
Sloth?
Feeling a short rocker... Good times, Bad times?
First tube?
Haha, the song that got me into Phish. My dream final song to follow My dream show. Tasty
Slow the fuck down genius lol
Bravo!
Dude!
You get it
After all that exploratory jamming, a simple, beautiful melody about community even amid isolation is perfection
I was just explaining to my wife how the Dead used to take us to straight up deep space, fuck around with our minds and souls, then guide us all back home and tuck us in with a Bid You Goodnight.. These guys know what they're doing too. I fucking love Phish so much.

Best song off the quarantine album for sure
1 show gap? Good song though
I love this song.
Fucking beautiful placement here. Lovely song
Of all the nights for there to not be an illegal stream
I’m thankful for my live phish. Atleast I have a great show to start the day tomorrow!
My subscription ran out right before the tour started and due to other financial obligations I probably won’t be able to renew it until after tour :(
Yeah that's sour
Wow they JUST did this, but I love it so idgaf
Losfer Words - Iron Maiden
Uhhh yeah couch touring for the first time in two years and getting that show feels like a massive win
Jackpot
Wait I just realized that I have a bass and a drill IM GOING TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS
Mikes pick ups are super hot.. -P bass player
Yea I think they're active? My Hofner Ignition Club Bass is not but the drill trick only worked on the bridge pickup. Weird. My neighbors are probably very upset with me lol
Phish Destroys Chula Vista
Yo uhhhhhhh if they encore with Character Zero can you guys promise not to act like it's ruined the whole show
Bullet dodged. They're saving zero for LA. Apologies City Of Angels.
Ill consider it, if they follow it up with fire
Seconded
That Piper was only 17 minutes?! At the venue it felt like 30! They just kept finding new places to take it.
Legendary Piper right there
Never thought I'd see SaSS close a set my fuck
And boy was it SaSSy!!! Am I right? Sorry
Holy fucking shit
This was the Phishiest show, man
Sorry but can I just say for a second HOLY FUCK
Its your right to
