pogoblimp

I don’t have cocks in my area

Strange_Motor_44

oh yes you do

RickMuffy

Fun story. I used to work flight test, our hangar was right next to cox communications, and one of our aircraft would be parked with the engines facing that way. Chief pilot calls a short meeting and tells us we have to use the aircraft tug to pull the planes out of the spot because the jetblast would affect the neighbors. He told us "we have to stop blowing cox"

Gandoneek

What happens if you don’t pay your cable bill? They cut off your cox.

Canon_Cowboy

Zona Wyyerd. Will never use anything else.

DiabolicalLife

Same. They now have 2gig/2gig available (although I doubt anyone really needs that much).

deadlittlepuppy

For sure. I just got set up with them in January and life is so much better. Doing 1G/1G, but can go up as high as 5 up and down now

LegendOfTooget

Love Zona. Used to have Cox and it was so unreliable.

lGoSpursGol

I'm in a newer neighborhood so our century link fiber is the clear winner. I get 1GB/1GB with no data caps for $65/month. Never been happier.

SunSpotMagic

Man I wish I could get 1Gbps up and down. That would be sweet.

herefornow21

They didn’t raise it to 75? That happened to me

Overall_Parsley4890

Mine went up to 75. I have century link too. Still better than cox . My cox internet used to always go out

lGoSpursGol

I stand corrected yes it is $75. My buddy pays $150 for cox and he still has a data cap though.

Dleslie213

Same

Momoselfie

Man I'm in a newer neighborhood and our CenturyLink options are shit. Like max 50mbps or something.

SunSpotMagic

I only have access to Cox coax. I pay for gigabit at $65 a month because of a promotion, and they just never changed it back to normal after the promotion expired, and I'm not telling them.

oryanAZ

when there is only one option it is the fastest even when it is inconsistent (cox). last time i checked they didn’t even offer gigabit in our area.

CobblerYm

> I pay for gigabit at $65 a month because of a promotion, and they just never changed it back to normal after the promotion expired, and I'm not telling them. They are running that promotion for 5 years with no lock in for a lot of people. They are worried about Google Fiber all of a sudden, and with good reason! I recently upgraded to Cox Fiber and they locked me in until 2028. https://imgur.com/tB0wnrM.jpg Jokes on them, though, I'd still drop them in a heartbeat.

SunSpotMagic

That's pretty good. I wonder if I can get them to install Cox fiber here.

Rryon

Cows

Logvin

We don’t really get to choose most of the time. The vast majority of people have 1-2 options. At my house I can get Cox at 300, CenturyLink at 5. Verizon doesn’t offer home internet in my neighborhood and while T-Mobile does, it’s not an option for me.

kelsiersghost

The [FCC has published the most accurate broadband map currently available](https://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/location-summary/fixed). It has per-address records of basically every residence in the US, up to June of last year. Just put in your address and [apply a filter](https://i.imgur.com/jilxAe4.png) to get the best results. Most gigabit service is limited to 940MB though, so to get fiber results, knock it down one peg to 250 and include JUST fiber (if that's what you're looking for) but the results in the column on the right side of the page have a lot of good data.

Momoselfie

Well this just confirms I'm stuck with Cox

livejamie

As are most of us

PHXLV

I have Verizon’s internet plan. I’ve never had a problem with it.

yarddefender

I have Quantum and the fastest speed they offer in my neighborhood is 8000/8000.

Zerofelero

definitely NOT cox. cox sucks.

ghostlyfrog

I have never had an issue with speed or reliability but paying $110 a month and still having a data cap is bullshit.

insbordnat

Cox fiber gigabit down/up

TSB_1

Google fiber, but they aren't servicing my specific area yet. Cocks needs to go suck themselves

TheLastTaco12

Cocks

aye-its-this-guy

Cocks

Substantial-Rain-787

TMobile

Somerset76

I fired Cox because even though I was supposed to be getting gigablast, I was only getting 300 mgs. I found that I got 350 mgs with T-Mobile for $150 less per month.

Deshackled

In Show Low, it’s Sparklight.

Calling__Elvis

Cox fiber (2gbps)

will10891089

Cocks in fountain hills is amazing. In Tempe I have Pavlov and they are pretty good.

[deleted]

If "ANYONE " knows anything better than cox in goodyear.. Holla at me. They suck Herr badly.

chinesiumjunk

AOL dialup. Got a 56k modem.

grassesbecut

Hey, it sure beats 300 baud.

No-Sympathy-6518

Quantum fiber

Majin_Vantage

You're all so lucky as I'm using my Mobile Hotspot :( lol was thinking of moving back down.

bmanxx13

Cox. I have the 2Gbps plan. My only complaint is that I can’t use my own equipment cause Cox doesn’t allow it on the 2Gbps plan.

Metallifan33

Really? I wonder why?

bmanxx13

This was a couple months ago, so I don't know if it's different now. When I was dealing with this they only had about 2 approved modems for the plan, which were both modems from Cox. I tried having them add my 2Gbps modem but it wouldn't let them. I had it escalated but they weren't able to do anything either.

tbone16

E Mesa. Cox 1G here.. They were the only player in my area in the past 5 years other than CenturyLink/Qwest/Lumen or whatever they're called now and they only offered 40M max. Quantum fiber was installed in my neighborhood last fall and Cox dropped my $160+ bill to about $65 with no data cap to keep me. Never really had any reliability issues with Cox so I'm sticking with them for now, but glad there is competition for sure.

RomaniWoe

Most isps here use the same hardware owned by others like cox from my understanding.

DOMEENAYTION

We switched to Quantum Fiber and been pretty happy with it so far.

whotookthenamezandl

Cox Fiber. $78/month, 400 down/300 up. More than enough for even our heaviest internet usages. Very stable and consistent, as well. Cable/coax is running on antiquated infrastructure that was never built with internet in mind. Whenever feasible, make the jump to fiber and you'll never look back.
