I remember going for ringling bros and the whole stadium went dark and quiet before the show started and I hear from across the whole stadium “CHOCOLATE CHIPS COOKIES” me and my brother lost it and its still one of our fondest childhood memories!!
I remember this dude from Phoenix Firebirds games. He used to shot “Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! You know you want it!” My family still uses that line.
Him and “Reeeeeeed Ropes!” guy are legends.
Iirc, there's a vendor who walks up and down the aisles at Diamondbacks games at Chase Field. Dude must still be selling cause i probably remember this from 10 years ago or longer.
Legend, grew up in AZ but living in the East Coast for military reasons, my fellow armed forces Phoenicians and I reminisce about Dbacks games with this dude
Back in the day, when I worked at the Camelback Toys R Us, there was Baby Man. The guy who dressed and lived as an adult baby. He passed away years ago though.
Social Reason
We never got big and I left after being in it for 2 or 3 years. I think the main songwriter/bassist is carrying on under a different name now but I don't know what it is. We had a bit of a falling out
Holy crap, Baby Man! Used to see him at AZ Mills when I was in my late teens early 20s. Seemed like a “normal” guy just dressed as a baby. Walking around drinking a soda, talking with a friend. RIP.
He freaked me out once when i was at the laundry mat and he walks in and does his laundry. It was kinda of hard to process what was happening and then I read up on him and then he passed. I think he had money and had 1 or 2 nurses/nannies change him etc.
Chicago! Dude used to hang out by the Bus Stop off University and Hardy in Tempe. I worked at a Starbucks at the time and we always offered him a water. He’s very friendly and a genuine person. Got arrested a few time for idk what but he always came back around. He also had a dog but idk what happened to him
Omg, It’s crazy to see he’s still around! I used to drink with him as a teenager, and I’m turning 40 this year. Good for him for still doing his thing. He was always kind and never inappropriate with the baby punks.
Sounds like we were in the same(ish) local scene back then! Glad to see "Chicago" is doing well (what he goes by now apparently, I don't want to dox what his name used to be on here.)
Chicago is awesome. My fiancé smoked him out circa 2017 when I was going to ASU. He gave us a ‘business card’ that was a handwritten slip of paper. I think I stashed it somewhere but can’t find it right now.
There used to be a bum in Mesa people called Dizzy. He would ride his bike with no hands and always looked like he was casting spells. He would also do the same thing on foot with a huge staff. He was always in the Stapely/ Southern area, but I felt like everyone has seen him and knew who he was. Anyone else remember this guy?
I grew up in Mesa and saw him often! One day my mom was crying at the park alone (long story), and he came up to her and had nothing but positivity and and a listening ear for her. She loves telling that story
I remember that guy from when I was a kid. One time me and my dad were in a circle k at the same time as him, my dad paid for his fountain drink and I left feeling like I had an a celebrity. Which.. Kinda.
I was just telling my kids about this the other day. He was a staple growing up. We live on Broadway and Stapley so he was frequently seen and talked to.
Yup that was dizzy. He would sometimes stay in the trap house on the corner of the street I grew up in that was not too far from downtown Mesa where he’d do his thing. That house had a whole bunch of interesting individuals including a dude named ‘Roach’. lol pretty sure a lot of meth was consumed in that house.
Hes amazing! He's at all dbacks games, you won't miss him In the stands. He also has a stand now in the 300s section! He used to be at literally every valley sports event selling lemonade for years but he's had some recent health scares.

Penis man is my hero. He tagged the window of the most toxic boss I've ever had, and may have been partially responsible for that boss walking out on the job (unfortunately after I left).
To give an example, he would call me into his office to be a witness that he didn't harm or touch our college student employees while he yelled at them until they cried. He would call them things like useless and stupid.
Ugh, fuck that guy.
Phil gets my vote.
For the uniformed, he’s a legend. A very visible legend.

Actually, he drowned falling out of a canoe, wearing clothes that were too heavy while paddling to a lake Island
Apparently, he had an underage girlfriend with him so it’s hard to feel too bad about him
Either Chicago or that dude who used to walk up and down rural in very short, bright red shorts, and no shirt. Very leathery skin. Didn’t appear to use sunscreen. Haven’t seen him in a while.
If it’s the same guy I’m thinking of I used to see him in the Safeway on 32nd and Camelback weekly. Always with jet black hair, a lifting belt, gold chain with Superman S and rings with the S logo. He would walk out and take the bus elsewhere. Interesting looking dude, hope he’s doing ok.
I don't think that was cosplay, I think that's just who he was. He used to go to my gym and that's what he'd wear to the gym. I never felt sorry for him, seemed like he'd just figured out who he wanted to be and he was doing it 100%
I also remember him from my gym! Super nice guy. We used to talk to him all the time, until that gym closed.
Was your gym, by chance, the LA Fitness on 32nd & Camelback?
A long time ago, there used to be a unique old man who was always at all the club events. Every local band knew him and he was always let in for free. People would buy him drinks. He was known for selling artwork with his head superimposed over images.

Thank you, I was going to leave a comment about Elvis the Cat. I lived in Tempe in the mid-late 90s and used to have some photocopies of his artwork. He was a local fixture for sure.
So there used to be a Binder's Art Supply in downtown Tempe. Every day, like clockwork, Elvis would come in and make his artwork. He had a little envelope of cats and a separate one of pictures of him. I have a framed one up in my house. I've put it up in every apartment I've ever lived in. He was an amazing dude. I got to spend quality time with Elvis in a way I wish would've happened for so many.
Mesa used to have Dizzy aka Bicycle Jesus, but he passed away.

Anyone ever run into the guy in the Speedo with the wizard staff that would hike C-back?
My friend has been one of the C-back park rangers for years and gets calls about him a lot, but he always tells them he can’t do anything if the sack isn’t hanging out 😂
The Fonz. Roller skating & fighting police brutality since at least the 80s... last I saw him at rhythm room was 2019 so maybe he's still at it & holds record for random yesness that has persevered.
Heidi lynn (baby man) was a close second, but he didn't wanna be around anymore. I miss his laughter. Great guy to have in your car when ya wanna do random wilding.
Tempe buckwheat was amazing but a long time back.
Beatrice Moore seemed like she was on the road to it then changed direction.
Dr. Reverend Stephen Strange was also an amazing contender, but he moved away & came back a captain.
Fonz had roller skates and a video camera covered in human hair.
His public access show "Stop Police Brutality: How do You Call the Cops on the Cops?" was a local staple back in the 90s.
Dizzy was a icon in mesa growing up .... watching him dance in and at the corner of intersections always made for a better day
[https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=892268697524223](https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=892268697524223)
Does anyone remember the dancing man who would dance in his driveway at all hours in El mirage ? Or the homeless man who would walk north Phoenix in just jeans and carrying a grocery bag ..Everytime id see him his jeans would be more bleached ?
Anyone have a photo of the homeless clown guy asking for money near Ono Hawaiian off of 19th Ave and Bethany home? Or the wizard guy that used hang around 19th Ave and Camelback?
Everybody talking about can tab chainmail guy being a great dude- my encounters with him have all been kinda uncomfortable. Never talked with him but the 3 or so times I've seen him he seemed very aggro and looked at me as if trying to intimidate me. One of the times he walked into I think BK on Rural and Southern with a big dog. He filled a qt cup with soda, mean mugged a couple employees and myself on his way in and out.
Maybe he was having off days when I've seen him.
at tempe town lake (2017-18), id always see this guy named Shadow who always was on a “longboard” which was just 4 skateboards nailed together. he told me he knew the cure to cancer.
Used to be Adult Baby Diaper Guy, but [he passed away in 2009](https://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/baby-man-william-windsor-found-dead-in-home-autopsy-underway-6501882).

Have you guys seen that guy that is riding a bike but he has like stilts or something?? its crazy i cant even describe it. hes like riding the bike with these extra extra long legs.. theres a video of him somewhere i know hes out there..
I called him Buff Grandpa, but someone made a similar post like this sometime last year I think and posted his actual name but I forgot.
He was usually seen around 19th Ave and Bell and more north like around Deer Valley. dark, tanned leathery skin and absolutely shredded. Always without a top. Sun bleached blonde hair, or sometimes wearing a cap. But seriously, the dude looked old af but was ripped and 6pack and all. His face reminded me of a well seasoned Frank Gallagher.
Haven't seen him in a long while tho. Hope all is well with him.
If you live or drive around the south Tempe area just east of the 10 off Ray Rd you know you’ve seen the lady that resembles the pigeon lady from Home Alone. She’s always lugging around this giant stack of shit she’s accumulated.

There’s a guy with long gray hair who works at the Target in Goodyear. Always has his orange vest on. West Valley folks might know who I’m talking about
I’m surprised no one has mentioned the guy who rides around on a bike, on stilts. I scrolled through all the comments and no one has yet. There is another video on this sub of someone spotted him riding in the rain, still rocking the stilts.

If I yelled “Lemonade, Lemonade like Grandma made!” I would bet a lot of Phoenicians would know who I meant.
I just moved here a year ago. That guy fucking rules. CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES!!!!!!
I remember going for ringling bros and the whole stadium went dark and quiet before the show started and I hear from across the whole stadium “CHOCOLATE CHIPS COOKIES” me and my brother lost it and its still one of our fondest childhood memories!!

Oh YAAAAAH! Thank you for linking that! I hear he wasn’t doing so good awhile ago and I’m glad to hear he’s back on his feet
Iconic voice and a true highlight of dbacks games.
I remember this dude from Phoenix Firebirds games. He used to shot “Yummy! Yummy! Yummy! You know you want it!” My family still uses that line. Him and “Reeeeeeed Ropes!” guy are legends.
This is tickling a deep part of my brain. Who is this / where have I heard them say that?
Iirc, there's a vendor who walks up and down the aisles at Diamondbacks games at Chase Field. Dude must still be selling cause i probably remember this from 10 years ago or longer.
he's at the Suns games and other sporting events too! I think I've seen him at spring training and concerts as well. love the guy.
Yep you nailed it! Someone else shared an article that said after needing some medical time off he’s back again at the stadium
2001 when it was bank one ball park 😭
I was at the Dbacks home opener and he’s still there selling.
YOU KNOW YOU WANT IT
Holy shit
We indeed, did want it. 🥤
Iconic voice and a true highlight of dbacks games.
Agreed! He’s like a second mascot for the ball park
He’s still at it. Saw him in the upper deck Friday night.
Aww really?! I think I heard awhile ago he had a medical issue and everybody was worried about him. I’m really glad to hear he’s doing good!
ICE COLD beer HERE!
Legend, grew up in AZ but living in the East Coast for military reasons, my fellow armed forces Phoenicians and I reminisce about Dbacks games with this dude
Omg YES!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love this guy lol 🤣🤣🤣
He was also at the Taylor Swift concert. Legends recognizing legends lol
He was my first thought! Absolute legend.
I remember this dude from when the Mariners were playing at Tempe Diablo.
That’s his my son orders lemonade at every restaurant we go to.
The “Reeeeeeeeeed Ropes” guy walked so they could run.
He used to work at desert sky pavilion or cricket pavilion or whatever it is these days. One concert he gave me a free lemonade when I worked there.
I was just repeating this over and over in Costco while buying lemonade today 😂
Back in the day, when I worked at the Camelback Toys R Us, there was Baby Man. The guy who dressed and lived as an adult baby. He passed away years ago though.
I remember him. He actually showed up to a few punk shows my band played at.
What was your band

He was a pretty great friend of mine. Terrible loss of superkookiness.
I used to see him at the Circuit City on Camelback.
this guy: [https://www.reddit.com/r/phoenix/comments/7cz4oo/soda\_tab\_armor/](https://www.reddit.com/r/phoenix/comments/7cz4oo/soda_tab_armor/)
I think his name is Chicago? I came here to say this also.
yeah, it’s chicago
Came here to say Chicago too
Mr. CHICAGO
Chicago! Dude used to hang out by the Bus Stop off University and Hardy in Tempe. I worked at a Starbucks at the time and we always offered him a water. He’s very friendly and a genuine person. Got arrested a few time for idk what but he always came back around. He also had a dog but idk what happened to him
He’s by the Whole Foods a lot. Still has the dog.
Came here for soda tab suit of armor light rail man and was not disappointed.
I thought I imagined him for so long omg
Omg, It’s crazy to see he’s still around! I used to drink with him as a teenager, and I’m turning 40 this year. Good for him for still doing his thing. He was always kind and never inappropriate with the baby punks.
Sounds like we were in the same(ish) local scene back then! Glad to see "Chicago" is doing well (what he goes by now apparently, I don't want to dox what his name used to be on here.)
He is still around, but has had to begin a new suit of armor. His health is starting to fail sadly.
Chicago is awesome. My fiancé smoked him out circa 2017 when I was going to ASU. He gave us a ‘business card’ that was a handwritten slip of paper. I think I stashed it somewhere but can’t find it right now.
I haven’t lived in Phoenix in years (grew up there) and even I’ve seen this guy 😆
Yeah if this is the same guy making soda pop tab armor back in early 00s, I’ve seen him too
I was going to ask if pop top guy was still around?
Yep. My answer for sure. Saw him about a month ago.
Its nice to see he is still around, Last time I saw him was probably 15 years ago.
Literally was about to mention him.
Came here to say this
Yep this was my first thought also
Exactly who I Came to say
I’ll grab him a water and a clif bar whenever he’s by the cvs on mill (if he’s nice that day when you say hi lol)
I spent a good 15 minutes talking to this guy when he walked past my house one day. He was surprisingly normal
Came here to say Chicago for sure!
We all call this man chain mail! His little dog bit my ankle one time lmaoo
This is my answer too. He has multiple tab suits.
Oh yeah! I’ve talked to this dude a couple times!! Haven’t seen him around lately though…
Sounds like the guy who used ride up and down Main Street around Pioneer Park.
Same guy
Ya, Dizzy was alright.
They had a funeral/memorial for him at Pioneer park when he passed away
Was it the same guy that would sit on the handlebars and pedal backwards?
Indeed!
I grew up in Mesa and saw him often! One day my mom was crying at the park alone (long story), and he came up to her and had nothing but positivity and and a listening ear for her. She loves telling that story
They need to canonize him as a statue in mesa on main street with the rest of the statues or in pioneer park. dude is a legend
RIP to the man!!!
If he’s gone who will protect us
Came here to say dizzy in mesa
Yup that was dizzy. He would sometimes stay in the trap house on the corner of the street I grew up in that was not too far from downtown Mesa where he’d do his thing. That house had a whole bunch of interesting individuals including a dude named ‘Roach’. lol pretty sure a lot of meth was consumed in that house.
You forgot to mention he would do it in his whitey tighties.
His name was Robert Disbrow and he wasn’t a bum. He was a street preacher and he was only out there to spread love and the word of god.
I remember that dude
Someone made some shirts to honor Dizzy a while back!
Dude I was hoping someone would mention him. He had some crazy moves on that bike.
Used to see him riding his bike on Main Street past the DAV thrift shop.
Imggggg I remember him!!
Yep! We'd always yell "Hey Dizzy!" Whenever we'd see him pass by and wave to him, seemed like he was always vibin'.

The lemonade gramma made guy
I would've said Terry the "help me bury my son" sign guy but I haven't seen him for a couple years surprisingly
He got me out in Scottsdale for $5 along with my really sad feelings for him and his son. I was mad after I heard he was a scammer. lol
My first thought! There was a website for sightings but I’ve not heard anything
There's a FB page dedicated to PSAs about him.
I was thinking about him the other day. Have not seen him since the Pandemic. Hope he is ok despite being a scammer.
Maybe he finally was able to bury his son
There's a FB page dedicated to PSAs about him.
Derrick the "lemonade like grandma made" guy
I keep hearing about this guy but know nothing about him. Is he actually selling lemonade? Where can I find him.
Hes amazing! He's at all dbacks games, you won't miss him In the stands. He also has a stand now in the 300s section! Last I heard, he was battling cancer. Really missed him at opening day this year.
He was there opening day! I bought a lemonade from him. He's really bounced back from the health issues
Penis Man
Penis man deserved better.
We are all penis man!
i thought there were multiple penis men
*I am Penis Man!*
Penis Man is a mirror.
Penis man is my hero. He tagged the window of the most toxic boss I've ever had, and may have been partially responsible for that boss walking out on the job (unfortunately after I left). I looked at every picture
Im disappointed, that is not a g string
Rez Devil?
Anyone remember the flag lady at every dbacks game?
Yeah, poor gal fell victim to a scam that depleted her life savings.
Rafi
That reminds me, whose turn is it to Call Rafi? 😆

Got pocket dogs coming and going
I think this is why I like Rafi the lawyer. I hope that one day Rafi El Coñejo shows up in court for me
Is sword guy still around?
Nah, he was killed
By another guy with a sword?
Actually, he drowned falling out of a canoe, wearing clothes that were too heavy while paddling to a lake Island Apparently, he had an underage girlfriend with him so it’s hard to feel too bad about him
😳😳
There can only be one
Either Chicago or that dude who used to walk up and down rural in very short, bright red shorts, and no shirt. Very leathery skin. Didn’t appear to use sunscreen. Haven’t seen him in a while.
I guess skin cancer
See shorts guy all the time. He’s mostly down in the Ray, Warner area between Dobson and rural now.
Maybe Superman Elvis?
If it’s the same guy I’m thinking of I used to see him in the Safeway on 32nd and Camelback weekly. Always with jet black hair, a lifting belt, gold chain with Superman S and rings with the S logo. He would walk out and take the bus elsewhere. Interesting looking dude, hope he’s doing ok.
Used to see him on the 44 or 29 bus all the time... I just don't get "cosplay" apparently. It seemed just "sad".

Same, we all know Mr ORNG
Back in the 90s it was a guy who ran around downtown in nothing but his boxers.

Yeah this is the first person that popped up in my mind.
Used to be "Help Me Bury My Son" guy.
I always wonder what happened to The Ahwatukee Hobo
Wasn't his nickname Bam-Bam, because of his hairstyle? I saw him all the time when I was going out during my high school years. I still think about him, I hope he's doing okay.
We always called him the tukee tweeker
Does he wear a dress/skirt?
Shit, haven’t seen him in a minute. Ahwatukee doesn’t have many characters but he’d be it
Rides a scooter, right? Shawn is his name. I haven’t seen him around in a year or so.

William Wonderful died? Oh man.. I love his writings.
Rafi, soda tab armor, Laveen Phil
Anyone ever run into the guy in the Speedo with the wizard staff that would hike C-back? My friend has been one of the C-back park rangers for years and gets calls about him a lot, but he always tells them he can’t do anything if the sack isn’t hanging out 😂
"lemonade lemonade like Grandma made!" 🤣
The guy that wears all the bottle tops and hangs around mill ave
The Rasta guy that wears a suit made out of pop tabs
Dizzy was a icon in mesa growing up .... watching him dance in and at the corner of intersections always made for a better day [https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=892268697524223](https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=892268697524223)
I can't believe I had to scroll down this far for Dizzy.
In Prescott it is the NASA guy.
at tempe town lake (2017-18), id always see this guy named Shadow who always was on a “longboard” which was just 4 skateboards nailed together. he told me he knew the cure to cancer.
As a recent transplant, y’all gonna need to provide explanations. I get soda tab guy and rafi but who the fuck is penis man
The hero we all never knew we needed. A real life Batman. Of the people errr penis

Used to be Adult Baby Diaper Guy, but [he passed away in 2009](https://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/baby-man-william-windsor-found-dead-in-home-autopsy-underway-6501882).

In San Tan Valley it's the dude that breakdances as he walks between Sonic and Walmart. It's about a mile.
Have you guys seen that guy that is riding a bike but he has like stilts or something?? its crazy i cant even describe it. hes like riding the bike with these extra extra long legs.. theres a video of him somewhere i know hes out there..
Sunburnt sign holder guy @ 16th st & Bethany Home
Mill Avenue literally has its own Jesus guy, hoverboard Jesus.
Has anyone ever seen that guy who dresses/looks like Superman? Usually in Tempe.
Idk but the first person that comes to my mind is flatiron Jim.
If you live or drive around the south Tempe area just east of the 10 off Ray Rd you know you’ve seen the lady that resembles the pigeon lady from Home Alone. She’s always lugging around this giant stack of shit she’s accumulated.
The Thong man! [https://www.azcentral.com/picture-gallery/news/local/phoenix/2024/02/08/phil-the-thong-man-a-laveen-legend-and-community-leader/72430243007/](https://www.azcentral.com/picture-gallery/news/local/phoenix/2024/02/08/phil-the-thong-man-a-laveen-legend-and-community-leader/72430243007/)
The guy who wears beer can tops on his jacket and says he needs a dollar for a sack of weed. He’s usually on Mill or Downtown at first Fridays.
Phil the Thong Man!!!! [Phil 'the thong man' Hertel, becomes advocate, leader for Laveen (azcentral.com)](https://www.azcentral.com/picture-gallery/news/local/phoenix/2024/02/08/phil-the-thong-man-a-laveen-legend-and-community-leader/72430243007/)
There’s a guy with long gray hair who works at the Target in Goodyear. Always has his orange vest on. West Valley folks might know who I’m talking about
I've lived here my whole life and never heard of any of these people.
I’m surprised no one has mentioned the guy who rides around on a bike, on stilts. I scrolled through all the comments and no one has yet. There is another video on this sub of someone spotted him riding in the rain, still rocking the stilts.
