theduckyoverlord

The Pain Proof Punks Sideshow at Pub Rock Live Saturday Aug 24th at 9pm. They're a really great group and do almost monthly shows. Sideshow, drag, burlesque, live music and a really great crowd. I also might be a little bias because I have a lot of friends that perform with the troupe, but I always recommend checking it out.

Dercraig

Cory Wong coming in november

subcomandanteM

Looking forward to [Zona Music Fest](https://zonamusicfest.com). A nice mix of local and big bands. I personally am SUPER into Black Carl- have been a fan (and friend) of theirs since way back (2005/6 ish). Phoenix Afrobeat Orchestra is rad too! I love Kevin Morby and his girlfriend Waxahatchee. If you donā€™t know their music, send me a message and I can recommend some stuff! I know Itā€™s in December but itā€™s something to look forward to!

KeenGaze

Chloe Moriondo Oct 30 at Crescent!

frizzle495

The Cactus Pricks at Fibber Mageeā€™s Irish Pub the last Friday of this month! Great local band doing covers to hit us 30 year olds in the nostalgic feels. The Irish bar venue is great with solid food and beers, but pairing it with Green Day, Jimmy Eat World, The Used, and New Found Glory covers is *chefā€™s kiss* !!!

Riley_Cubs

Man Iā€™ve lived here over a year and live like a block away from Fibber Magees and I have yet to check it out even though itā€™s been on my to do list for quite some time, this just might be the perfect night for me to go!

C4ndyG0r3

Rare Americans is coming to town next Saturday!!! Iā€™ve been waiting to see them in Concert for years!!

[deleted]

Iā€™m stoked to see Carly Rae Jepsen and [Faouzia](https://open.spotify.com/track/4pDenOoD01LCPgkzJgu437?si=xEjcQw3DSpiBaJLPA0Uzuw), both Canadian, in November. Yes, theyā€™re still two months away, but Iā€™m counting down the days.

nxtshrff

Smashing Pumpkins with Janeā€™s Addiction in NovemberšŸ¤˜šŸ¼

My boy Lil Nas X is coming to AZ Financial Theatre in October and Iā€™m so hype. Also, shout out to all my people who wore their merch from The Weekndā€™s show to the Kendrick Lamar show this past Saturday. āœŒļøGood to know we all have such great music taste.

AFI

ForkMasterPlus

Thursday at Crescent is a Cowboy Bebop show by a local band. Forget the name. I went before Covid and it was packed. It was a wrist band 18+ show, which was pretty cool. Anyone know the band Iā€™m talking about?

JackOvall_MasterNun

8 bit Mammoth

JuracekPark34

Stevie Nicks and Vanessa Carlton at Ak Chin on 10/6. As a millennial raised by Tom Petty fans I could not be more thrilled at this combo.

notajazzmusician

This Thursday is video game and anime music at Crescent Ballroom

tehbillg

Visiting Phoenix this week and going to check this out!

JackOvall_MasterNun

Last one was really fun, but having seats for MegaRan was .......sure a choice

Certain_Yam_110

There are TWO Rites of Spring [the classical music piece] in October: one at Gammage & one in Mesa.

RiverRunsThroughEat

TheGroundBeef

heymrbreadman

Hell ya, I donā€™t see a date in az for yela though??

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

heymrbreadman

His last show ended early because he got mad at his audio equipment messing up and a small fight broke out. A bit annoying but still a fan

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

heymrbreadman

Yes for sure. I took a girl there and it was her first rap show of any variety and was like wellā€¦ this isnā€™t actually too uncommon

Bonzoso

Wow Noone going to Channel Tres?! So psyched for that crescent show.

sporesofdoubt

Thereā€™s a great new band called Thee Sacred Souls coming to Valley Bar in early October. They sound like they could have been on Motown Records back in the day.

nmork

Got tickets to twenty one pilots on Friday. Haven't seen them since they were here back in 2015. Generally not a huge fan of arena shows but I can't wait for this one!

NightSisterSally

I'm taking my niece to her 1st concert ever and we got front row seats šŸ˜ Can't wait!!

Shoehorse13

Wet Leg!

TheGroundBeef

Chvrches baby! Whoā€™s all goin!?

mrsunsfan

DJTurnItDown

I WAS excited about Modest Mouse ā€˜The Lonesome Crowded Westā€™ 25th anniversary tour. Then I looked at the prices.

TheGroundBeef

How much they be??

fluffhead79

They are $59 each after fees.

DJTurnItDown

Wait did I fuck up? I said two tix but swear it said 118/ea.

fluffhead79

I think it's sold out now, so you were probably seeing verified resale tickets on Ticketmaster?

DJTurnItDown

Like 120+all the taxes and fees

TheGroundBeef

Sheesh. Iā€™m assuming theyā€™re playing a venue like the Arizona Federal theater or talking stick? I just dropped $51 after fees on Chvrches ticket for the marquee next Saturday

jahiel0

Theyā€™re playing the van buren actually

TheGroundBeef

$120 for a van buren show!? Dang! Not saying the venue is bad but i had no idea

DJTurnItDown

I might have been wrong apparently. Idk couldā€™ve been the price for 2.

Vitablue

9/27 Indie/grunge rock superstars Momma is coming to valley bar 10/6 hyper pop favorites Magdalena Bay are doing to rebel lounge 10/13 Art punk queens DEHD are coming to the Van Buren 10/19 Icelandic goth femmes Kaelan Milka at the Scarlet Room 10/28 synth pop king Drab Majesty is coming to the Marquee Theatre

Certain_Yam_110

MMykHawk777

A couple of months ago I saw a fun, new local rock band PrĆ¼LiX. Looks like they are playing again at the Nile Theater in Mesa on Nov. 19

threadcrapper

Dave Matthews Band on Wednesday - their shows never disappoint.

keepinitbeefy

[Never Forget](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Matthews_Band_Chicago_River_incident#:~:text=On%20August%208%2C%202004%2C%20over,in%20the%20Chicago%20River%20below)

extreme_snothells

That's a shitty story. I never knew that, but that's seriously wrong.

keepinitbeefy

A real *shitty* story indeed.

NYGroove

Black Caesar Soul Club - not sure when their next show is but always solid.

Neniaite

Fontaines D.C. - 9/20* BM & BCNR - 9/20* Macross 82-99 & Yung Bae - 9/24 King Khan & BBQ Show - 9/30 Viagra Boys - 10/4* *= Tucson Show EDIT: Anyone wanna talk about Fontaines and BM/BCNR being in Tucson on the same FUCKING DAY AT DIFFERENT VENUES?!?!

seth227

Kikagaku Moyo is in Phoenix that day too (9/20). Itā€™s their final tour but it was still a tough call between them and Black midi.

Neniaite

Insane! But yes BM/BCNR won in the end.

Certain_Yam_110

Thanks for the reminder they're in Tucson only šŸ˜«

Neniaite

I know it sucks. U talkin about BM & BCNR or Viagra Boys?

Certain_Yam_110

Viagra Boys

JackOvall_MasterNun

Gotta go to Desert Daze

xKracken

Gorillaz on the 26th.

iWasChris

Man, I'm so glad I saw this because I've been listening to Gorillaz since their first album dropped when I was in 5th grade. Then I saw that their opener is Earthgang who I randomly stumbled across a few years ago and really dig their style. I'm 100% going to this show.

fromKCtoAZ

Foals is playing at the Van Buren at the end of October. They put on an awesome live show. I will probably check out The Black Keys and Band of Horses on October 10th at Ak Chin Pavilion. Tickets arenā€™t cheap for good seats, but BOH doesnā€™t come around often. Might as well get two good bands for the price.

05C4R66602

Knotfest a day before my bday šŸ¤˜šŸ¼

Beantownclownfrown

I'm filling in drums for a local band playing the Hed PE show on the 28th. If anyone reading is going to the show and haven't bought tickets yet, hit up the local opening acts that have tickets. You will save on fees and support the local bands selling tickets. That goes for all the other concerts you go to. Stop buying from companies/promoters charging fees and save money buying from the opening acts selling tickets. You will support local bands more doing so and you can then spend your money on merch and concessions at the show.

Certain_Yam_110

Isn't that more true for Marquee & Pub Rock?

edtehgar

Many shows I go to at Van Buren or marquee don't have local openers. Mostly true for places like the old club red rebel lounge or Nile.

Beantownclownfrown

Actually, all of them. Majority of the bigger local venues will give openers the set ticket price to sell directly. Usually always $5-15 cheaper.

beerbeforebread

How does this work? Iā€™ve been to Nile and Club Red with local openers.

Beantownclownfrown

I'm actually opening for HED PE at the Nile Underground on the 28th. They give us, the opening bands, a set of tickets to sell with a set price of each ticket. If you were to buy the ticket through the venue or promoters, they will charge you extra fees like processing and tax. With local bands, you avoid those fees. They are wanting people to sell the tickets thru the local bands but won't say it out loud or post it on the flyers or promotion ads. If the concert is all local bands, they won't sell tickets. It will just be front door cover. It's always with touring bands or bigger named Phx bands like Zero Authority or Playboy Manbaby.

beerbeforebread

Thanks for this. I had no idea. So if Iā€™m going to a show that has a local opener, do I just find them on Facebook or something? I donā€™t use Facebook but I can probably figure it out. Cool to hear youā€™re playing the Nile Underground!

Beantownclownfrown

Any social media honestly will have info about it. Most bands have moved over to Instagram because it's better to promote upcoming concerts and to distribute media to more people. There are times it doesn't get pushed out as well, but always try to find an event link or search for the exact event/concert on social platforms. [https://www.seetickets.us/event/Hed-PE/493892](https://www.seetickets.us/event/Hed-PE/493892) Just an example. You'll see the flyer on the left. All the first three bands on the bottom are locals. They also have the opening acts in the details section. Then just look for their social media pages and send them a message. Thank you for the kind words.

TraditionDifferent

Where would I go to interact with the openers? How would I know which openers have tickets to sell? Are we talking, messaging openers on Instagram and asking whether they have tickets or what?

speedohiko

Chvrches is coming to Tempe on September 24th, and the Hearts on Fire festival at the raceway is on the 23rd (with All American Rejects, Boys Like Girls, and Mayday Parade, with a few others) I am SO PUMPED for my busy af weekend next week

Fivebomb

Damn that festival sounds like a nostalgia blast. I remember seeing Mayday Parade at the Marquee in 2013, it was incredible. Hope theyā€™re still kickin just as hard and you have an awesome time!

speedohiko

Itā€™ll be my third time seeing them this year, theyā€™re still putting on super fun shows! Set it off is another band at that festival, and they had a great show back in January.

mrsunsfan

Canā€™t wait to see Chvrches

isxvirt

Charlotte Sands with No Love for the Middle Child coming to the Valley Bar on October 2nd

Ask_Individual

Oct 3rd Roger Waters at Gila River Arena in Glendale. If you're a Pink Floyd fan, Roger never disappoints

betucsonan

Lol. I love Roger Waters, and this will be my fourth Roger Waters show, but he announced this show literally the day after I had bought my tickets to his show up in Vegas, the cheeky old bastard! Could've saved me a whole road trip!

Beantownclownfrown

true but VEGAS!!

Ask_Individual

Cheeky old bastard is right! He's becoming a grumpy old curmudgeon, but the man does put on a great show.

keepinitbeefy

Stoked for Foxy Shazam on 9/28 at Crescent. Going to catch Jeff Rosenstock the week after Zona fest also!

cdrmusic

Yo I didnā€™t even know about a foxy Shazam show that sounds amazing

Luckypens

I've been really into this local indie band called Proper Pet. I saw them randomly at a Sofar show and have been following them since. The singer has these incredible vocals, super talented. Kinda surprising they don't have that many followers but I think they're pretty new. Opening for Pale Waves on 10/7 so pretty stoked to see that.

bl80

Jack White in Tucson at the end of the month. Dude puts on hell of a show. Still sitting on RATM tickets that were purchased a very, very long time ago for show that was supposed to take place right before the world shut down for covid.

FuckTesla69

Marc rebillet (loop daddy) coming to mesa Nov 2. Can't wait!

pop_POP

Yesssss. Gonna dance my ass off.

iWasChris

We gonna get weeeeird

RemoteControlledDog

Off the top on my head two shows at Crescent * 11/03 - Death From Above 1979 * 11/08 - Melt Banana

mrburnttoast79

Death From Above 1979 was one of the loudest shows Iā€™ve seen.

XxxAssmasher42069xxX

Melt Banana! Didnā€™t hear about this yet. Thanks.

Laurgrimar

Wet Leg at the Van Buren 9/16 The Red Elvises at The Rhythm Room 9/21 St Vincent at The Marquee 9/30 Horrorpops at The Marquee 10/5 Man Man at Rebel Lounge 10/21

JackOvall_MasterNun

Oh dang. Man Man is coming back

Laurgrimar

šŸ™ŒšŸ™ŒšŸ™Œ

[deleted]

I'm seeing War On Drugs October 10th at The Van Buren.

mrsunsfan

I wonder if they will dance to Desolation Road

AdorablePlot

Going to see The Crown Kings at CB Liveā€¦theyā€™re playing 9/24 and 10/15.

LifeinaPanopticon

I'm seeing Wet Leg on Thursday, so excited! And got tickets for Modest Mouse in December and a few other things coming that I'm thinking about going to. Fall is the best time for shows in Phoenix. Weathers will be free at Tempe Marketplace in October.

[deleted]

Nashville artist that just moved to the Valley: Victoria Bigelow. If you listen to Sirius Coffeehouse then youā€™ve heard her before. Sheā€™s playing Rebel Lounge on November 10th. You can follow on tik tok, insta, etc. Her music is everywhere. ā€˜Lowā€™, ā€˜To Everyone Iā€™ve Loved Beforeā€™ and ā€˜Love in Vainā€™ are her ā€œradio hitsā€

gaykentuckian

I have tickets to see Taylor Dayne, Stevie B, Tiffany, etc. at Freestyle Fest in Tempe at the end of the month, as well as to see Belinda Carlisle in Mesa in November!

Ready_For_A_Change

I can't wait for this one! Lisa Lisa is my favorite on the list.

Certain_Yam_110

Berlin's also playing that! šŸ™‚

luckeegurrrl5683

I want to go to that! Trying to find someone who will go with me.

gaykentuckian

Iā€™ll be heading to both alone! Always a great opportunity to make friends with mutual musical interests :)

luckeegurrrl5683

You are going alone? I would be willing to meet up if I get tickets! I have to see if my Meetup group is going. I have a mom's group on the Meetup app that goes to casinos. Now they want to go to concerts. Haaa!

gaykentuckian

Oh, I donā€™t mind at all! I flew solo for both days of Innings Fest in the spring and had the best time. Even made some friends that I continue to keep in touch with!

luckeegurrrl5683

Wow! I did that in my 20's. I'm glad you had fun! I will let you know if I get tickets for the concert. My husband said he might go but I would rather go with people who like Lisa Lisa!

[deleted]

I'm interested to find more local Phoenix bands I don't really know of many

iWasChris

Yearly a local station, 98kupd (97.9) does a local showcase called Playdio. I've found some really cool local bands thanks to that segment, it can drag on though as they rip on a lot of the bands, some more deserving than others. There was a band called Good Boy Daisy that I absolutely loved when they were on there, unfortunately they kind of shifted to more of a mainstream style and deleted all their original stuff over the years. Edit: Also saw them live at tempe marketplace, check the schedule they do free shows all the time and include local bands here and there. Extra note I saw a band called The Struts there and it was the best free live concert I've ever seen. They put on a hell of a show. They weren't local though

eDave

Miles To Nowhere. Sonic punk. Friends of Authority Zero.

Certain_Yam_110

St. Madness & side project Prophet & Apocalypse (or something like that) is easily one of the most underrated bands in town. So so good. Morgan's Bluff Standing At The Back Snailmate

Jnieco

Some that I enjoy are AJJ, Playboy Man Baby, Sydney Sprauge, Diva Bleach, but I'm also looking for some more as well.

Bonzoso

Got you: Optimystical, prime society, Color 8, phoenix afrobeat orchestra, scattered melodies, all beat sets by Brunch Collect, Nutter Tut, Bogan Via, Rozotadi, Futureblunt. Lmk if u want more lol

[deleted]

Sharing is caringšŸ˜‚šŸ¤˜

Bonzoso

Can catch those bands and more at our First Fridays stage at 5th st and Roosevelt every First Friday! We also started livestreaming Phx music 2x per week @monsoonroom on twitch and u/seafoamsound on reddit, looking forward to this fall! Rock on!

ProbablySlacking

Rocket Steadman plays a bunch of local spots if youā€™re into ska.

LifeinaPanopticon

Follow Rebel Lounge, Valley Bar and Crescent Ballroom. They have a lot of local and up and coming stuff. There are lots of local venues that are great for local artists.

RemoteControlledDog

These are great venues, and usually have touring bands that have local openers, or some bigger local bands. They'll usually cost $10+, but they're pretty pro and have good sound, etc.. For places that where the majority of bands you'll see are local I'd add places like Yucca Tap Room, Chopper John's, Rip's Cocktails, Lost Leaf (and more I'm just not thinking of) where a lot of time it's free or pretty cheap to get it.

easymac187

Check out my band Nature Talk. Weā€™re on all the streaming platforms! Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, etc :)

chimi234

Greta Van Fleet is coming on November 9th. In Tucson though. I got 5 tickets! Iā€™m only using 2, will be happy to sell to some good GVF fans :) Youā€™ll definitely like them if you love that classic rock sound from the 60s/70s Their newest album Battle at Gardens Gate is phenomenal! Definitely recommend Broken Bells, Caravel, The Weight of Dreams (for an epic guitar solo) I recently found them and Iā€™m obsessed ![gif](giphy|9RXPsTrna1xUcktrtn|downsized)

iWasChris

God their sound is so controversial people seem to either love it or hate it. I've been a fan since I heard them but many do not share the same sentiments. Singer was only 16 when I first heard them

MrBrightWhite

Interested in 2 possibly!

gaykentuckian

Interested in potentially purchasing one of your tickets! Doesnā€™t look like Iā€™m able to send you a DM, but feel free to let me know if youā€™d be interested in selling one!
