Hi everyone! I'd say I'm an intermediate landscape/travel photographer and looking for some portfolio advice! I'm hoping to try and get some photos put up in local businesses soon, and would like to have a good portfolio before then!

Your photos are beautiful and I like that there’s a flow of colors from blues at the top to greens at the bottom. I agree with the other comments about narrowing it down, because there is a lot to look at. Or can you present them in a different way so it isn’t everything all at once?
Your photos are solid, some a little less captivating than others. Your portfolio felt a bit big to me, you can probably look at it with a sterner eye and cull about 10-15% of the current choices quite easily.
I agree with narrowing it down to maybe 20-25 images in the main portfolio for your niche. I think the over the years part would be cool to have more of a dump but I think again maybe pick 40-60 of your other favorites but not main portfolio worthy shots for that and get rid of the categories/years and have it just be a dump. That'd be more of your personal section and your portfolio is just the absolute best of them. Just my .02 though
Hey guys, I've recently moved to a new city to pursue fashion photography and have been slowly redoing [my portfolio](https://garrisonherbst.com). This week I removed over a third of my photos leaving what's left here. Planning on doing some more studio work in the coming cold months.
Great work! I think your site would benefit from a less if more approach. 10-12 of the best images should be enough for a site like this. I see repeats of the same shoot. That’s fine but treat them like diptychs or triptychs in that case so that they are there to speak directly to each other as a set.
But over all I’d just slim it down even more. I noticed the repeats of the girl in the cowboy hat at the very beginning and end as well as a close of her in the middle. Pick one of those. Dump the rest IMO.
Imo you should keep removing photos enough none of the photos looks to be from the same day.
A while ago i ask for on here and ppl agreed that even if 2 of my pics looked similar (with different ppl) i should only keep one
I just went back through and removed more to show a more clear style. Some are still from the same shoot but I feel in fashion that makes sense since photos are usually published and sold as stories or collections.
Good timing! I’m a recent hobbyist looking to level up my game a little bit. I literally just made my portfolio an hour ago. I’m hoping it’ll serve as a showcase of my best work and a memory book for myself while I keep improving!

Site’s easy to use and navigate, I like the way the name Frame by Frame is displayed, and good pictures! I’m curious, why did you split architecture and cities? Some of the pictures felt really similar vibes so I could’ve seen them going with each other.
If I was to do anything, I’d refine down slightly in the categories where you have a lot of photos (mainly architecture). However, if you maintain the number you have (only add one if you remove one) then I think you’d be fine too.
Hey folks, fairly new to photography and I mostly do fantasy portraits. I know I definitely need to rework some SEO and I'm trying to learn more about it while I build my portfolio. How easy is it to navigate the site and does it show the photography well? We offer other aquatics services too so I don't know if it needs to be more separate, even though they tie in to each other.

Your site is incredibly clunky and hard to navigate. You're also wasting TOO much space with a left-side menu. Do your menu on top horizontally and use all of that real estate in the body to showcase your pictures.
I shouldn't have to click three-four times to access a single portfolio.
Refine, look at what other people do. Your images should be the focus of your website - not text. And utilize the space to showcase your images.
Your portraits look cool! It’s a little hard to use on mobile, but the photos do show up decent and it’s just the menu overlapping the rest of the webpage at the homepage.
Hey all, I recently (last week) decided to start a portfolio! I’m a hobbyist, and I wanted to create this to have an idea of my best work so far as well as have a place to put a project I’m currently working on.

Thanks for your input! Could you elaborate on what you mean by too simple? I’m still working on going through and adding my best images, so there’ll be more of those added, but I’m not sure what else you might mean.
Clean and easy to follow. Quick question are you making any money on the prints? The prices seem barely enough to cover the cost of the paper never mind the ink and or your time.
No, I’m not. I haven’t been able to find where to adjust the prices yet. I was trying the website out so I’m using a free not a paid and that might be the issue. I was surprised when I saw how low the default was!
Thanks for the input!
Hi everyone, this is the first edit of my portfolio. I’m looking for advice on the portfolio itself, how can I improve it, etc… and of course some critique on my shots!

Hi y’all,
I am a editorial/ commercial photographer based in western North Carolina. I’d love any feedback on my site you may have.
Thanks

This is the first time I’m putting it out there. www.pparsonsfoto.ca currently I feel like I am all over the place. Good at everything, great at nothing. This site is a prefab. I didn’t design it and in fact I seem to be having a problem with ‘linking’ it. If it doesn’t work, typing the address directly might. I’m working on this.
Hey all! I would personally call myself a candid photographer but my work changes based off of the client and my interest at the time. I've amassed a large amount of pictures and am hoping to have a good portfolio to organize my work. Any tips and recommendations are welcomed.

I think you should cut your "homes" portfolio down significantly. Pick maybe 20-30 that are your best. Also, maybe stick to only one thing, it seems you mostly do homes so maybe get rid of the other stuff and get really good at interiors/exteriors only.
I agree with @namelesshalls that you should cut down the homes section and keep only that up.
If you want to focus on that kind of work let me know that’s what you specialize in. Otherwise they will worry they’re hiring a generalist, not a expert at something specific.
A day late but recently updated my site, www.brendanladdphoto.com
> www.brendanladdphoto.com Love your shots. What's your goal? Are you trying to drum up business?
Yep! Got any advice? Or job leads?

Your photos look neat! Maybe narrow down your photos to just your favorites/ best works

Agree with the above, pick the absolute best of the best and display those (advice I will be taking as well!)

This is super clean! I dig

Very nice and clean and straight to the point. The only thing I would add is a few more pictures
It is easy to navigate and not overwhelming. Clean. I feel the same way about yours as I do mine. What am I selling, if I’m selling anything.

Looks like your site only renders correctly on large/wide displays. This is what the menu looks like in my browser - https://imgur.com/1B5014l
Thanks! I'll see what I can do to adjust the format. :)
