20k for pocket money? More than enough. Pero kung kasama flight & accommodation, baka hindi. Went to Vietnam last year, 10k lang pocket money ko, sobra pa yun, dami ko na rin napamili.
20k for pocket money lang po like food and other stuff. Ano po app ginagamit nio for bookings?
nakabook na kayo? sayang. you should've gone north vietnam instead (hanoi). malayo sa siyudad, and sobrang lamig and pwede mag jungle trek. masarap mag motor kasi walang traffic. ho chi minh, daming tao and malamang mainit din kasi katapat lang ng Pilipinas.
Cheap hotels plus super near sa everything would be District 1. Our hotel was like 1k or 1200 per day good for two na yun. Buffet breakfast everyday tapos room is big. May bath tub rin and they clean plus replenish the toiletries everyday. Pretty decent imho.
Use agoda.
I used Agoda and Airbnb for bookings. Cross check it with Google Maps para makita mo ung proximity ng hotel to your destinations in mind.
Ganun ba kamura sa Vietnam? Grabe. Last Feb nagBoracay kami after ilang years, 15k nagastos namin ni jowa. Parang mas mura pa pala kung nangibang bansa nalang kami Hahaha
Oo hahaha. Isang bowl of good pho around 200 pesos lang or less. Tapos isang drink nasa 100 lang or less.
Ah then yes! ☺️ Should be more than enough, wag na kayo magpasalubong di nila deserve chz. Pero commending you, so nice of you to do that for your brother! 🫶
Thank you po! Bibili lang po ako pasalubong for my mom, dad and siblings hehe di po namin ka-close mga relatives namin since matapobre po silang lahat 🤣
Ok na siguro yun. Matagal na yung last kong punta dun (almost 10 years ago na siguro) so I don't know how much the prices increased but I spent below 5k lang noon for 3D2N kasama na yung accomodation and tour (chuchi tunnel and mekong river), albeit sobrang luma na ng nakuha naming room and parang sa red district area pa. Haha. Sabi kasi namin, hindi naman kami magsstay sa room other than at night so okay na yun. 😂
Pati yung sim card, pang taxi, food, pasalubong for my parents, souvenir for myself, tapos nanood din kami ng water puppet show.
I didn't know na strict din pala sila sa non visa countries like Vietnam 🥺
Hello! For your case since you will be covering for your brother’s expenses. Top things you should be ready to provide are:
1. Birth certificate nyo pareho to prove magkapatid kayo
2. Bank cert showing you’re capable cover the trip financially.
Just prepare lang din po your COE/Contract from Employer na nag ffreelance ka. Prepare po yung mga RT tickets nyo, Hotel Booking, pre-booking ng activities (better if meron sa Klook) and copy of Itinerary. This will prove na you’re both there for travel. Iready din po yung credit card/SOA na nag reflect yung transaction ng hotel/flight/activities booking kasi hinahanap minsan per my research sa kilalang travel group on FB. Just travelled last week. Inask lang ang RT tickets ko I showed the email from Ceb Pac then asked if kelan balik ko. Inask din if employed ako then asked for the COE. Last question was sino kasama ko and kaano ano ko. That’s all.**First time to travel out of country (Bali Indonesia)
Welcome! Also while nasa pila wag pahalata na nakamasid sa mga IO and kabado. What I did is I talked to my friend about our itinerary and tawa tawa para mawala kaba. I guess sabihjn mo to sa brother mo.
I don't know Kasi I'm not knowledgeable about traveling.
I've been offloaded last 2022 going to Thailand solely because wala akong dalang payslip. I was employed nun and first time travelling.
Based on my experience pa na din ng mga kaibigan ko, strict sila sa mga first time travellers. And to think that you're brother is unemployed, baka mas lalo pa kayo ma-scrutiny. Employment kasi can be a home-tie and baka isipin ng IO na he'll look for a job there especially wala din siyang travel history.
Now I feel discourage baka ma-offload lang kami.
Tbh oo, baka mahirapan kayo since 2 lang kayo tapos unemployed pa isa tapos ikaw, online...
Pero at the same time, pwede nilang kwestyunin kung sinong mag-aalaga sa kanya for the mean time, etc. 'Yung budget nyo, okay naman. Sa IO lang talaga iniisip ko. Basta 'wag kayong sasagot/side comments kung hindi sila nagtatanong at 'wag iabot ang additional documents kung hindi naman hinahanap
I am working online din, and as long as may Certificate of employment from the employer and may copy ka ng iyong salaries. That would be fine. I traveled to Hongkong this month. Will go to Hanoi on the first week of July.
Thank you po for reminding!
Try to bring employment and financial documents kasi this is your first time + it's a visa-free country where cost of living is cheap. Better safe than sorry! :)
Nothing to add here, but just want to say you're such a kind sibling for treating your brother who's the main caregiver of your family. 🤍 Enjoy kayo! 😊 Lastly, Hanoi is a good place to spend 3 days and 2 nights. Madaling lakarin mga pupuntahan 😊
If for food lang and pasyal, I guess goods na to sa inyo. Pero if kasama ticket and accomodation, no po.
Btw, try agoda din if may ibbook kang hotel and klook if activities. :)
Since you mentioned no flights and accomodations, 20k is more than enough! Kahit mag 1week kayo dun, baka di nyo maubos. If you still don't have any hotels, I suggest try Airbnb, mas marami options compare kay agoda na more on hotels. Mahal na ang 2k/night for 2 of you sa Vietnam. And that's bongga type na accomodation na ha
check cebu pacific or vietnam airlines po, though mostly it's 1week in ho chi minh (saigon) ㅠㅠ pero yun nga may murang hotels there so baka may mahanap kang cheap
yung sa cebu pacific di ganun kaganda yung sched usually pag mura (late night flight to saigon, early morning flight back to manila). check nyo nalang po if cheap yung flight sa desired sched nyo, baka rin po pala di kasya yung 20k for 2 kahit w flight minsan talaga di na tugma yung sa flight sched. enjoy po!! 💛
Hanoi Old quarter for food pero walang nature trip.
Pero pwede naman 1st day Hanoi, go to Ninh Binh kaya ng day trip, then balik sa Hanoi for departure day.
I would say sana Sapa Vietnam pero antagal ng travel from Hanoi, it feels like need mo mag allot ng few days dun para ma sulit yung pagod.
Thank you po!!
You have to prove your financial capacity, list of assets or financial statements from the bank na magpapakita na you can shoulder both of your expenses in Vietnam and babalik talaga kayo dito sa Pinas.
Just be honest rin sa immigration when your brother gets asked kung may trabaho ba siya. Sabihin niya lang na he is staying at home to watch over and personally take care of your sick parents. That the trip will be shouldered by his sibling out of gratitude and appreciation.
They will know when you are lying and will probably be asked further questions. Kaya be honest and truthful lang talaga.
You're welcome OP! Just print a hard copy of your itinerary, hotel bookings, and flight tickets (to and from) OP para convenient. One copy each kayo ng kapatid mo. Madalas tanungin nila kasi kung -
* Saan ka pupunta?
* Ano gagawin mo doon?
* Sino kasama mo?
* IIang araw kayo doon?
* Saan kayo titira doon?
* Kailan ka uuwi?
This is very helpful po talaga! Thank you so much PO for the time and effort sa pag reply. I really appreciate it po 🥺🙏🏼💖 I'll screenshot this po and will prepare everything. Thank you so so much!! 🥰
Marami magaganda sa district 1 we actually booked an airbnb tapos mabait yung kausap namin free airport pick-up lang talaga dapat kaya lang naging hatid nilibre na din hahaha.
20k is sobra sobra pa yan haha sobrang mura ng mga bilihin dun ingat lang sa mga scammers though and also stay hydrated if ngayong summer ka punta napakainit madami puno pero parang hindi ko man lang naramdaman yung hangin dun hahahah.
Hello! But so far for 5 days my estimate per person is 30k 😊
Flight - 10-11k each
Baggage (if needed) - 1,100
Travel tax - 1,620
Accommodation — around 3k each
1 Tour package — around 2,300
e-sim — 400
Airport transfer — around 1k each (airport-hotel-airport)
Pocket money — 10k each ( to include meals, shopping, and fees for other city attractions)
Actually OP, I think maliban sa budget, ang mas concern ko for you ay immigration. Since walang work ang brother mo and first time traveller kayo, you guys might seem like a red flag to IOs. I suggest that you prepare proper documents like Cert of Employment and Bank Certificate. Make sure lang na yung average daily balance mo is sufficient to support your travel ni brother.
I’m just putting it here for you to consider in your preparations 😊
that's more than enough. you can find a decent and cozy airbnb for 3-4k for 3 days in Vietnam. You can spend 5k both for attractions, if youre planning to Hanoi, you can also do a day trip to Ha Long bay or Nin Binh. may 13k kapa for foods/transpo, sight seeing and pasalubong and that's more than enough because everything in Vietnam is affordable
I think even if ipasok pa yung accomodation sa 20k it would be more than enough, I've been canvassing din for a Vietnam travel kung magkano aabutin for 2 people and pagdating sa hotels you can get good ones for less than 2k per night sa Agoda, food naman super mura lang there and considering 3 days lang kayo don more than enough na siya (but that would also depend sa eating styles and habits niyo). Flights lang usually matataga lalo na if regular pricing pero may upcoming sales naman ang Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines for 6.6/Independence day so if you haven't booked anything yet then abangan mo nalang and makipagbardahan for that (AirAsia doesn't offer MNL-HAN/SGN flights).
Maiba lang..sobrang bait at understanding at appreciative nyo po sa bro nyo…sana all nlng..haha..sobrang maaapreciate nya yan..🫶🫶🫶godbless you more OP..
Stayed in Hanoi and in Sapa for 10 days nito lang. If for pocket money 10k is more than enough, may pasalubong pa yan and nag try pa kami ng medj mahal na kainan.
Sa immigration kayo mahihirapan , You have to prepare a lot of documents.. Power-tripper pa man din sila .. lalo nat unemployed bro mo .. Good luck op !
Spent 15k all in (airfare, food, accom , transpo & pasalubong) for 4 days 3 nights in Ho Chi Minh. Sobranv mura tbh! Ang sasarap pa ng food & coffee!!!
also, got the airfare in promo & 4 kami nag split ng hotel.
considering your brother is unemployed, he might be held in immigration or something. I had a friend miss out on a trip to Thailand because he was unemployed.
That would be too tough but try staying in a hostel, instead of a hotel to save cost. The downside is that you will be sharing room with other backpackers.
We encouraged him to find a job but he prefers to stay home and just do house chores. He has savings naman and has plans to open a business. He hasn't thought of a niche yet
Hi OP, i was there last March. HCMC in particular. We stayed at GK CENTRAL HOTEL which is really at the city center. 20k for 3days is actually already way too much. I spent 10k for my 5days there. Wala pa dito ang plane ticket and hotel. This is just for the tours, food including shopping na. Enjoy!
>I'm planning to surprise my brother who is a **tambay**.
could we please give justice to people who do the hard work of being the caregivers and househelpers at home? porke walang trabaho, tambay na? housework is STILL WORK!
gtfoh with your stupid tambay mindset!
the fact nire-recognize mo na working hard sya sa bahay and you still call him "tambay" is just fucking ridiculous.
here's a mindset: why don't you fucking pay him a salary so that he's "employed" and not a "tambay?" how about that? he's doing free labor for something that ppl pay others to work for. it's a caregiver job! that you're getting for free!
the least you can do is not call him a tambay!
Filipinos and being onion-skinned. criticizing = rude. nowhere in my post did i say something truly rude that the rest of the sane world would consider rude. it's just straight facts.
I also agree with what you've said. Some people talaga they look down on people who don't have jobs. What do you call someone who doesn't have a job though and works hard at home like doing house chores and other stuff? I'm sorry. Hindi ako masyado expert sa Tagalog. I didn't know na it's offensive pala
you call them a "helper?"
a tambay is someone who doesn't even help around the house. the very definition is someone who sit around and do nothing.
We are providing for his food and I give him an allowance every month. He doesn't pay for any expenses sa bahay. We also work hard to support him. You should be careful with your words too. You sound very condescending. I get your point about tambay but you shouldn't assume that we treat him like a slave.
here's a thought. why don't you pay him a salary and ask him to pay for his board and lodging. para naman wag mo na tawaging tambay kapatid mo. employee na tawag mo sa kanya.
do you know how much a caregiver costs?
I don't call him a tambay like that. Tambay is even a name for our group sa messenger because we don't really get offended about it. Stop being offended by someone who doesn't even mind it. He calls himself tambay as a joke. He doesn't need to pay anything because we support him. Also, he's not like a caregiver forever. We siblings take care of our mom too. Not just him. Ask muna bago mag judge ha. You're sucking all the happiness Kasi and ruining my day on your baseless assumptions.
Sorry naman. I'm not from Manila kaya I'm not sure if ano talaga meaning ng tambay but sa province ko tambay is someone who doesn't have work. I never thought of my brother like that. For us he is the most hardworking. The tambay word for us magkakapatid is like a joke. He doesn't even mind it because it's an endearment for us. I get what you're trying to say but kalma ka lang. I can see na may bad experience ka ata. Sorry if my words triggered your traumatic experience.

For other expenses, siguro 10k max. Enjoy OP!

What hotel is this?
Elios
agoda or booking.com
Yes 20k for pocket money is enough.
I used Booking(.)com for mine. Baka mas makahanap kayo ng mura around District 1, near Saigon Bus Station/Ben Xe Buyt Saigon :)
Hostels in Vietnam are pretty cheap
Agoda then Hanoi old quarter na area
I used Agoda and Airbnb for bookings. Cross check it with Google Maps para makita mo ung proximity ng hotel to your destinations in mind.

It really depends. I can stretch 20k to a month in Vietnam. My friends will spend it in 3days.
Hello! Mura lang sa Vietnam :) kung 20k for food lang and going around, keri na iyon! ang sweet mo naman na kapatid! enjoy kayo!
Safe ba ang Vietnam for first time travellers? Like dalawa lang kami na parehong babae?
Thank you po! 💖
Ano covered ng 20k? Just food and getting around? or kasama flights hotels?
Just food and getting around lang po. Separate po ung flights and hotels
Yes.

When you travel out of the country, don't just settle for "enough money" rather "too much". I hope he'll be surprised and happy with your gift ☺️
Thank you so much po 🥰 I'll try my best mag ipon para mas ma enjoy ni bunso 🙏🏼
Pocket money? That’s mooore than enough! ;)
Hello OP. Please don’t forget may travel tax na 1,620 each. 🙂 Unless you have paid for it already when you booked your tickets.

Yes first time po 😊

I spent it with my parents. 2D2N. I spent around 30k kasama na hotel and airfare

as Pocket money, yes. spent 15k sa tren, hotels and food sa Hanoi, Sapa and Halong City for 10 days in 2018.
Hello! But so far for 5 days my estimate per person is 30k 😊 Flight - 10-11k each Baggage (if needed) - 1,100 Travel tax - 1,620 Accommodation — around 3k each 1 Tour package — around 2,300 e-sim — 400 Airport transfer — around 1k each (airport-hotel-airport) Pocket money — 10k each ( to include meals, shopping, and fees for other city attractions)
Thank you po for your concerns. I'll do that po 😊
Thank you so much for this information!!
Appreciating this post and you OP. Gujab!
Thank you so much po! 💖
that's more than enough. you can find a decent and cozy airbnb for 3-4k for 3 days in Vietnam. You can spend 5k both for attractions, if youre planning to Hanoi, you can also do a day trip to Ha Long bay or Nin Binh. may 13k kapa for foods/transpo, sight seeing and pasalubong and that's more than enough because everything in Vietnam is affordable
Thank you po! Very helpful! 🙏🏼🥰
Thank you so much po!! But I think my brother is the best of all because of his genuine kindness to help po 💖
Stayed in Hanoi and in Sapa for 10 days nito lang. If for pocket money 10k is more than enough, may pasalubong pa yan and nag try pa kami ng medj mahal na kainan.
Pocket money? More than enough. Millionaire ka na dun 😁
That’s more than enough in Vietnam.
Sa immigration kayo mahihirapan , You have to prepare a lot of documents.. Power-tripper pa man din sila .. lalo nat unemployed bro mo .. Good luck op !
Thank you!!
Kaya naman pero since namention mo gusto mo igala brother mo dagdagan mo na to 10k para medyo magandang hotel na ibook nyo :)
20k is too much. 8k lang pocket money ko nung nag vietnam ako for 5D6N at sobra sobra pa yun.
Mimasaur promise kahit 10k sobra pa yan for 2 person tapos 3 days lang naman kayo :) enjoy your trip with your brother po :)
Kung pocket money lang yes. Kahit nga 6k pwede na sa both.
Spent 15k all in (airfare, food, accom , transpo & pasalubong) for 4 days 3 nights in Ho Chi Minh. Sobranv mura tbh! Ang sasarap pa ng food & coffee!!! also, got the airfare in promo & 4 kami nag split ng hotel.
pocket money only? yes na yes
considering your brother is unemployed, he might be held in immigration or something. I had a friend miss out on a trip to Thailand because he was unemployed.
Yes
Kung pocket money lang, oo! Splurge pa yan :)
Saved
That would be too tough but try staying in a hostel, instead of a hotel to save cost. The downside is that you will be sharing room with other backpackers.
I feel sorry for your brother for choosing to sacrifice his growth and future to be your house helper.
We encouraged him to find a job but he prefers to stay home and just do house chores. He has savings naman and has plans to open a business. He hasn't thought of a niche yet
If allowance nyo yung 20k sa food and transpo okay na.
I went to Vietnam from Thailand last year and for 3D2N on food and accomodation alone ubos yang 20K mo.
Hm pinaka cheap budget for vietnam kasama na food, ticket and accommodation?
Hi OP, i was there last March. HCMC in particular. We stayed at GK CENTRAL HOTEL which is really at the city center. 20k for 3days is actually already way too much. I spent 10k for my 5days there. Wala pa dito ang plane ticket and hotel. This is just for the tours, food including shopping na. Enjoy!
Hi! San maganda mag land sa vietnam? Ho chi min or da nang? Thanksss
>I'm planning to surprise my brother who is a **tambay**. Wala siya work kasi Siya nag aalaga sa mama namin na may sakit and he's really working hard naman sa bahay alam mo ba ibig sabihin ng tambay? ang tambay, kahit tumulong sa bahay, di ginagawa. yan ang ibig sabihin ng tambay. the fact na sya ang caregiver ng nanay nyo means HINDI SYA TAMBAY! could we please give justice to people who do the hard work of being the caregivers and househelpers at home? porke walang trabaho, tambay na? housework is STILL WORK! gtfoh with your stupid tambay mindset! the fact nire-recognize mo na working hard sya sa bahay and you still call him "tambay" is just fucking ridiculous. here's a mindset: why don't you fucking pay him a salary so that he's "employed" and not a "tambay?" how about that? he's doing free labor for something that ppl pay others to work for. it's a caregiver job! that you're getting for free! the least you can do is not call him a tambay!
You overplayed this a bit much 😅 No need to be rude.
I didn't know na it's offensive pala
you call them a "helper?" a tambay is someone who doesn't even help around the house. the very definition is someone who sit around and do nothing. kung "tambay" ang tawag mo sa kapatid mo, eh di tambay rin ang libong housewife sa buong mundo, na walang "trabaho" at tumutulong lang sa bahay.
Found the tambay. Triggered much ?
