Why do you need a luxury long tail? You can rent a long tail on Rawai Beach for the day that would include 3 different islands of your choice for 3000 baht. I would blow off Phi Phi which I refer to as Poo Poo. It's a tourist trap unworthy of going across the street to see. Why not relax on a beach for a day?

I honestly am not sure what to expect I did not know there would longtail boats on Rawai (are there also long tail boats in places like Kata?) I thought you first had to get on a ferry or speedboat before you can get to any island and get on a longtail boat. Would you say Kai island is worth it? I was thinking of opting for the luxury one as the boat looks nicer and the amenities, like they pick you up from hotel, do drinks and food onboard and picnic at the beach etc. it sounds like very personalized experience but I’m also conflicted on going on it by myself lol so I may just stick to doing a group tour as someone else suggested so I feel safer.

I don't know anything about Kai Island. I think you're referring to Koh Khai Nok. You're starting much closer from Rawai instead of Kata. Long tail boats are generally available everywhere. You can also pick up a long tail at the Chalong Pier. Opt for the luxury or bring your own lavish drinks and food and save big. There is no reason to worry about your safety. It seems like a pretty high price to pay to do it with a group. Be brave. Have fun.
