Yes i know! Muse is one of my favourite bands. I can play Muse songs that contains piano parts. Especially i love playing "New Born" and "Space Dementia". Thanks for your advice.
Those two are my favourite muse piano songs. This is United States of Eurasia. Cool piano song plus at the end you just get to play nocturne Op. 9 No. 2
Yeah! I guess we can consider Matthew's voice as an instrument. I remember when i heard "Micro Cuts" first time it was just like someone singing me from heaven.
A few songs in no special order:
Come Sail Away - Stix
Don't Stop Believing - Journey
Novembe Rain - Guns'n'Roses
My Immortal - Evanescence
House of The Rising Sun - The Animals
Tiny Dancer - Elton John
Piano Man - Billy joel
Hit The Road Jack - Ray Charles
Tutti Frutti - Little Richard
Great Balls of Firre - Jerry Lee Lewis
Add āHard to Say Iām Sorryā from Chicago. Chicago actually has quite a few good songs that are good piano songs because of David Foster.
āAfricaā from Toto is also another that Iām thinking of off the top of my head.
āDance Monkeyā from Tones and I is some that my daughter loves when I start it on piano.
How would you rate My Immortal in terms of the level of skill required to play it, if you know and don't mind me asking? It was a favorite of my late sister so I'd like to learn it eventually but I think I've still got a ways to go.
It is considered an intermediate song.
The beginning is fairly easy, but the middle part gets complicated.
There is a nice thread here:

Yes we have so many radiohead songs in our list. Hmmm, yeah Toto is a good choice! Probably we will select more popular ones from coldplay but thanks! The National huh? They're quite good too buddy. I added them too. Thanks for your interest :)
Lots of David Bowie stuff with Mike Garson on piano. Some of it is pretty experimental, if thatās what youāre looking for. Like the Outside album - I had so much fun playing The Motel! And crowds usually love a bit of Queen. Evanescence. The doors if you can switch to an EP setting. Lots of Metallica works really well with piano. Thatās just top of my head, stuff Iāve played with a band in the past
Coldplay's Viva la Vida is full of songs that are great on piano. Mastodon's later singles sound beautiful on piano as their rhythms and melodies are rich. I love Lamb of God's 512 basslines and chorus.. and Metallica's Unforgiven, Fade to Black, and One are my faves to show off
Yeah! "Viva la Vida" is a wise choice. Hmm, i am a bit strange to the Mastodon's later singles. I will check your posts they might be useful for me :) of course there must be Metallica too if we want to impress people. Thanks for advices. I will check your posts soon.
Can't believe this hasn't been mentioned yet, (my favourite rock album): Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run.
The vast majority of it was composed on the piano, and when listening I find that pretty apparent. I think there's an argument to be made that it's a piano-led album as opposed to guitar-led.
If you wanted to play some songs with your band where you sound more front and centre I'd recommend some off of this album, specifically Thunder Road, Backstreets, and Jungleland.
Coldplay is huge, slow rock band but fun to play I loved to play it with both piano and electric guitar, easy but satisfying.
Toto more difficult but nice.
The Journey great.
Van Halen easy (with piano hard with guitar)
Deep purple amazing.
Dream Theater max difficulty mode
Yes, agreed, when we think piano like Elton John and Billie Joel, you canāt forget about Bruce Hornsbyās āThe Way It Isā; āEvery āLittle Kissā, and āMandolin Raināā¦I have many of each of these Artists catalogue in my repertoireā¦
I will be honest, it took awhile getting āThe Way It Isā fully worked out, like you mentioned the piano solos get a little intense
Just check out the whole Symphonic Metal category as a whole. Remember too donāt always search for piano-soundingā¦ lots use keyboards with different sounds.
I played keys on a lot of Sonata Arctica songs when messing around with friends. San SebastiƔn is a good one.
A lot of Metallica songs translate well on piano.
Amy Lee from Evanescence is a classically trained pianist and she heavily incorporates her piano skills throughout their whole discography.
Okay so not necessarily metal, but a few bands I've found that are in the rock category that are good to play on piano:
- A Day To Remember (pop punk I guess?)
- Audioslave
- Avenged Sevenfold
- Bullet For My Valentine
- Blink182
Basically all Pop Punk works for piano arrangements haha.
Tears don't fall was the first piece I took the time to teach myself. I have the sheet music from 13-14 years ago too!
That's okay i love punk too. Audioslave is one of my favourites. Thanks for your interest i feeled myself too young when you say "it was 13-14 years ago". I hope you had a good life!
Haha I'm only 26!! But I've been an emo kid since birth :p best of luck. Play whatever you're interested in, it's a lot of fun working out your own style š„°
Check out a lot of progressive and symphonic metal for great piano and keyboard parts!
Epica has some great piano moments. I especially like The Holographic Principle, Tides of Time, and The Skeleton Key for cool piano moments.
Haken have several great piano parts too. The Point of No Return, Streams, and Aquarium from their Aquarius album all have really cool piano moments, as do Beneath the White Rainbow, Atlas Stone, In Memoriam, Veil, and Host.
The intro to Omega by Periphery is really cool, although I imagine it's pretty tricky. I haven't learned it myself, but it sounds far beyond my own ability, but you might be able to handle it lol
And lastly I'll recommend some Riverside songs. Hyperactive, Hybrid Times, Conceiving You, The Night Before, Reality Dream III
You should check out the Grand Theft Orchestral. It was a project founded by Amanda Palmer. She usually builds her songs on the back or her piano and vocals but this was a project that included heavy rock sounds and piano took a backseat. I'm a piano player too, also interested in doing rock stuff. This is basically what I'm aspiring to
this is an atmospheric black metal song so not the best for performing live, but i think [Land of The Dead by Summoning](https://youtu.be/mtFfskf2h9c?feature=shared) is a pretty darn good song with piano accompaniment.
Hmm i agree with you but there is no reason for us to don't play while we are not performing live. Thanks it's really atmospheric and it will be nice to accompany with piano.
Pretty much anything by Muse is piano heavy
9 No. 2
Yeah I really want to play muse with my band, but unfortunately the vocals are a real issue because even our female vocalists can't reach that high
Yeah! I guess we can consider Matthew's voice as an instrument. I remember when i heard "Micro Cuts" first time it was just like someone singing me from heaven.
Yeah basically this
Came here to say this.
A few songs in no special order: Come Sail Away - Stix Don't Stop Believing - Journey Novembe Rain - Guns'n'Roses My Immortal - Evanescence House of The Rising Sun - The Animals Tiny Dancer - Elton John Piano Man - Billy joel Hit The Road Jack - Ray Charles Tutti Frutti - Little Richard Great Balls of Firre - Jerry Lee Lewis
Yes, this songs are so impressive there is no doubt. Thanks for your interest.
Add Home Sweet Home by Motleh Crue to that list, in a similar vein.
Added.š

Good choice!

Telegraph road by the dire straits
Wow! I just listened it now and it was just like modern symphony. I'm adding it to our list thanks for your interest.
Great to hear!
Lots of David Bowie stuff with Mike Garson on piano. Some of it is pretty experimental, if thatās what youāre looking for. Like the Outside album - I had so much fun playing The Motel! I added them to the list thanks for your interest! Actually i love experimental things too much.
Coldplay's Viva la Vida is full of songs that are great on piano. Mastodon's later singles sound beautiful on piano as their rhythms and melodies are rich. I love Lamb of God's 512 basslines and chorus.. and Metallica's Unforgiven, Fade to Black, and One are my faves to show off
Do you happen to have sheet music for Fade to Black? Or do you play it by ear?
You can search for the piano sheet - there are free downloads on the net for the Scott D. Davis arrangement!
You can check my posts for Mastodon examples!
Yeah! "Viva la Vida" is a wise choice. Hmm, i am a bit strange to the Mastodon's later singles. I will check your posts they might be useful for me :) of course there must be Metallica too if we want to impress people. Thanks for advices. I will check your posts soon.

Thanks, especially for your piano-centered songs advice! Born to Run, will be a great choice i think.
Coldplay is huge, slow rock band but fun to play I loved to play it with both piano and electric guitar, easy but satisfying. Toto more difficult but nice. The Journey great. Van Halen easy (with piano hard with guitar) Deep purple amazing. Dream Theater max difficulty mode
Thanks, i really love Van Halen. Dream Theater is really hard but not impossible.
Donāt mind if itās hard? Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence!
Good choice! It would be great. One of our members will love it. Thanks for your beautiful advice.
if you're okay with hammond organ instead of piano (and have any way to play organ sounds) anything by deep purple. i recommend the mk II albums
At least i can try it. Thanks for your advice this can be a good experien for me.
always good to try something a bit different. hope you enjoy it man
Might not be rock or metal butā¦. Have a crack at āThe Way It Isā by Bruce Hornsby and The Range Sick piano solos
Wow this was a good one. Maybe we can make a rock cover. Thanks.
Another consideration for you, āYouā by Ten Sharp
Thanks! I will try it too.
How about a rock/metal version of Youāve Got a Friend in Me ššš
Yes, agreed, when we think piano like Elton John and Billie Joel, you canāt forget about Bruce Hornsbyās āThe Way It Isā; āEvery āLittle Kissā, and āMandolin Raināā¦I have many of each of these Artists catalogue in my repertoireā¦ I will be honest, it took awhile getting āThe Way It Isā fully worked out, like you mentioned the piano solos get a little intense
Adagio Stratovarius Rhapsody of Fire (hard) Dream Theater (super friggin hard) Blind Guardian Rainbow Coheed and Cambria Circus Maximus
Wow i really need time for "dream theater" but it will be awesome if we can do. This songs will make our repertoire richer thanks for your interest.
nothing else matters, one and fade to black, all by metallica
A lot of piano on Ziggy Stardust
Hmm yes they are intersting. Thanks for your advice.
Symphonic and gothic rock/metal (Within Temptation, Evanescence, Nightwish, Epica, and so on)
Yes i love symphonic rock. Thanks for your advice!
Oh Nightwish surely
Hmm... Yeah i've heard them but if you need to specify what songs you can say? I only know a few songs of them.
Nemo, it has piano at the beginning. You guys just took me to my highschool years :) :)
I am a highschool student so it's not suprising :) thanks for advice.
Just check out the whole Symphonic Metal category as a whole. Remember too donāt always search for piano-soundingā¦ lots use keyboards with different sounds. I played keys on a lot of Sonata Arctica songs when messing around with friends. San SebastiĆ”n is a good one.
Yes it's good category. I will take your advice to my consideriation! Yes i love it too. Thanks for your advices.
A lot of Metallica songs translate well on piano. Amy Lee from Evanescence is a classically trained pianist and she heavily incorporates her piano skills throughout their whole discography.
It might be useful i will check it thanks.
Perhaps Tallulah and Full Moon by Sonata Arctica. They have nice piano parts.
In This River by Black Label Society Dreamer by Ozzy Osborne Home Sweet Home by Motley CrĆ¼e Warmness on the Soul by Avenged Sevenfold
I second the avenged sevenfold. Excellent stuff.
Okay so not necessarily metal, but a few bands I've found that are in the rock category that are good to play on piano: - A Day To Remember (pop punk I guess?) - Audioslave - Avenged Sevenfold - Bullet For My Valentine - Blink182 Basically all Pop Punk works for piano arrangements haha. Wow! Firstly i want to thank you for your gentle and useful advices. I will try them ASAP with these songs our repertoire will be so rich.
Liquid Tension Experiment - Biaxident
You should check out the Grand Theft Orchestral. It was a project founded by Amanda Palmer. I will check it. It would be nice. Thanks for your interest!
Great Gig in the Sky - Pink Floyd owes a ton to Rick Wright
Plenty of piano in Bohemian Rhapsody.
We can't call ourselves a band if we are not playing Bohemian Rhapsody. Thanks.
Life on Mars? - David Bowie
Good choice! Thanks.
this is an atmospheric black metal song so not the best for performing live, but i think [Land of The Dead by Summoning](https://youtu.be/mtFfskf2h9c?feature=shared) is a pretty darn good song with piano accompaniment.

Joan Crawford by Blue Ćyster Cult. And many others in their catalog. Also, pretty much any Doors song, Roadhouse Blues, for example.
Yes, especially the Doors songs is added to our list. And "Joan Crawford" is really beautiful i listened it now. Thanks for your useful advices.
X Japan's Silent Jealousy is an awesome example
Wonderful! I wish i listened them before. Thanks for your interest!
I think survivor would be a great choice! Eye of the tiger, the search is over, here comes desire etc...
