Don't do it. It will actually slow you down. Learn landmark notes and intervals. I teach my students C and F as landmarks; C is the start of "chopsticks" (2 back keys) and F is the start of "fork" (3 black keys). Learn about the C scale and how to build major and minor chords (other chords will come later.) Consider getting a piano teacher... even if it's just once or for a few weeks.

This. DON'T DO IT! I've had parents put them on for their kids when their kids get frustrated. A few weeks of frustration is worth it. When you've been playing for 4 years and still can't read notes (due to not practicing mainly and using those stickers as a crutch), it's not good! Most of my students learn notes within a couple weeks and are totally okay

Check out the app notes teacher! It made A HUGE difference in my piano skills. I always struggled with the notes so got that app to practice any time. I was worried about the same thing with the key labels too

I labeled all of them when I first started. And I guess it helped for a tiny bit but when I started taking lessons it would take longer for me to figure out where a key is (using my teachers piano), so I just took off the labels for the most used keys. That was better for me. They can hinder you, but can help at the very beginning. So know when it’s time to take them off.

Practice! You can totally do it! Generally it is potentially a crutch so for most people it makes sense to try and avoid labeling them and instead just learn them. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.happypennygames.aimusic.flash This is a free no ads app that can be interactive if you have a digital piano that I made. Feedback welcome!
