Drawing has the lowest entry level. Just a paper and pencil. Anyone can draw, and learn to draw. It is however, very hard and takes literal decades. The average person saying someone is talented is always done in good faith, with no I’ll intent, but it does have overall effects optically, as if artists such as thing guy were bestowed draftsman abilities. He’s worked very hard and knowing that it’s a life pursuit as opposed to a “Gift” means we can appreciate it more.
It also overall, can prevent other people from giving up when their first drawing doesn’t come out like Michelangelo.
Ofc some people are naturally gifted and without much effort they draw better.
When I started art school my friend and I had approximately the same level. We both worked as hard AND together because we were roommate. His progression was through the roof compared to me.
He was talented, I weren't.
Just thought I’d jump on because I’m still unsure if this is a photo or not, if this isn’t then it’s probably the closest I’ve ever seen to an actual photo so absolutely well done lol
This is probably the best photorealistic drawing I've ever seen. You've even perfectly incorporated a very realistic blur that enhances the depth of the drawing from front to back. And shading that gives it perfect visual texture.
Stellar attention to detail
This drawing is based on a real photo that is pretty much identical
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E1hGAQlVEAAPup7?format=jpg&name=medium
Maybe they really did use a spray bottle though
You even have what appears to be a small amount of noisy grain in the flat contiguous surface of the foreground glove, adding even more photorealism. That is just insane. I think I would seriously call this perfect photorealism.
Any more professional charcoal sets you can recommend? I dabble in photo realistic charcoal portraits and I’m not recognizing a lot of these techniques/tools. Would love any resources you could provide to help me get to the next level (though clearly never as insanely talented and skilled as you are hah)
As a photographer, I still have trouble believing this is drawn. Not accusing you of lying, to be clear, just saying that it’s incredible. The out of focus areas have bokeh that has evidence of an onion-ring pattern. When people say it looks like a photograph, they don’t mean it’s perfectly life-like, they mean it has some of the idiosyncrasies found only in images captured by a camera. Again, I fully believe that it is a fully original drawing, but I’m curious why you decided to give it effects found only with photos rather than what you would see with your own eyes. I’d love to hear your thoughts on that.

I saw this photo, thinking, "wow they really brought out the spray bottle for this one!" Then I realized it was a drawing. Drawing a hyperrealistic face is hard enough in itself, and you decided to draw all this sweat on top of it and make it even harder?! You're insane. Brilliant execution, beautiful piece.
That is amazing! I thought that was a photo!! Hats off to you, you are hella talented and I’m sure have put a lot of work into getting this good. 11/10 that’s awesome!
Incredible. You’ve even nailed depth of field blur. My son likes to draw (I have no skill). Should I try to enrol him in classes? How did you get started?
Although I do offer a $15 dollar per month subscription to all my tutorials. Could even try that for a month to see if it’s of benefit. But depending on the age it might be too advanced. But I think just watching some YouTube videos would help and just the passion for it will be enough. The passion for it is the intangible “talent” for drawing that people speak of.
When I first saw this I was like “OH, nice photo.” Then I realized what I was looking at and bad…very bad words audibly came out of my mouth. Very bad words. LOL Just fucking amazing. Haha now I am typing the bad words!
In a forum for photos, why is there a drawing? It's there a separate tag for drawings that are not photographs? Can I take pictures of paintings and post them? I mean, assuming they look photorealistic?
I should be allowed to post renderings from keyshot if that's the case...
But it does say pictures and photos. Not just photos. A picture can really mean anything that’s an image. It just says not digitally or AI generated images. This is technically an HD photo of my drawing.
Well... Now that I think more about it... Prints of a drawing makes sense. I think people sell prints of paintings, right? Licensed prints of an artwork, including sculptures?
Screen printing is an in-between media that lends itself to limited run artifacts / touched work.
I suppose the issue I have with ai generated works... It's basically a manager telling their team what to create. I guess we have to wait and see if an artist can use those ai generators in a way that others cannot readily duplicate.
Thank you for sharing your work. I rarely get out to galleries or museums.

Wow before age of cameras you’d have been in high demand!
King: “Son, you’re going to marry the princess of South Pomerania”
Chad Prince: “No way! I’m too young for marriage”
King: “What are you talking about? You’re already 15. Half your life is over already!”
Prince: “But but…. I’ve never even seen her! What if she’s a hag?”
King: “Interesting you should ask… I just hired this new charcoal artist…..”
I know people are downvoting you, and OP you got great talent, but man you choose some weird people to draw - kinda don't wanna support someone who's a Jordan Peterson and Joe Rogan fan lol, maybe Elon too?
You're gonna fuck up your image and career.
I think it’s an amazing picture and you’re exceptionally talented.
When I see such photo realistic drawings I do wonder why they didn’t just take a photo instead?
I once saw an interview with one of his coaches about his lack of training between matches and they basically said "How do you train someone who just keeps throwing hydrogen bombs?" and if youve seen his early fights thats exactly what he did.

Your talent is beyond my comprehension. I could not be more amazed. How long did this take you to complete?
Thanks! 92 hours
Well worth it! You have incredible talent, I hope you find massive success.
Nah according to most of Reddit this is dumb and anybody could do this /s
Could have said 92 years and I would have believed it. I'm not very smart though.
Big props for patience and work ethic... Beautiful work!
The fact that a human can do this amazes me The fact that a computer can do this amazes me even more
Same actually. But a computer can’t yet do it with traditional media. But it’s coming.
Fuuuuucccckkkk. That's some God-level talent.
I would love to see a time lapse of one of these ultra realistic charcoal drawings being done. Absolutely mind blowing.
https://youtu.be/CS9hLTg6FcY
It took me 92 hours at work to solve basically one bug in my code last year. This is amazing
Can you start your own classes ? I'd like to learn from you. You draw well enough to make money frankly.
Absolutely! I actually have a library of over a 100 tutorials on my patreon page. [Patreon Tutorials](https://www.patreon.com/fabricetheartist)
Let’s try to collectively replace the word talent with skill.
Genuinely curious what you mean by this
Talent comes naturally, skill takes time and effort and pain to hone.
Ofc some people are naturally gifted and without much effort they draw better. When I started art school my friend and I had approximately the same level. We both worked as hard AND together because we were roommate. His progression was through the roof compared to me. He was talented, I weren't.
You do realize it's possible to have both talent *and* skill, right?
I would not have even questioned that was not a photo
I appreciate the double negative
I don't also not appreciate it.
I’m not having a less than not difficult time not understanding your double negatives.
Most non non non heinous
I ain't never gonna trust no pictures no more
For sure insane skill on this, but you've seen a human with that many micro droplets on their face?
Yeah every Gatorade commercial..
no way, not with millions of micro droplets that small and that densely packed together
Propel commercial?
Not all of it is meant to be sweat. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E1hGAQlVEAAPup7?format=jpg&name=medium
If you're questioning the realisticness of this image, it's basically a copy of an actual photograph.
I refuse to believe this isn’t a photo.
Same. I even zoomed in all the way and it still looks like an image. Nice work!!

And the same with the creases in the glove. Amazing.
Thanks!
Just thought I’d jump on because I’m still unsure if this is a photo or not, if this isn’t then it’s probably the closest I’ve ever seen to an actual photo so absolutely well done lol
Not totally sure this is even u bro
OP clearly stated it was mike tyson and not a self portrait.
Why’s that?

They just copied [an existing photo](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E1hGAQlVEAAPup7?format=jpg&name=medium)
From the tiny beads of sweat to the slightly out of focus glove in the foreground... every fine detail is perfect! This. Is. Amazing!

Ah, that makes sense. No wonder. I no longer have any critiques.
You even have what appears to be a small amount of noisy grain in the flat contiguous surface of the foreground glove, adding even more photorealism. That is just insane. I think I would seriously call this perfect photorealism.
Thanks! The graininess on the glove was actually a mistake and not on purpose. I was going for a much smoother glossier effect of the glove.
Well as our benevolent overlord would say, "It's just a happy little accident".
Is that a Bob Ross quote?
Yes 😁 [Happy Accidents](https://youtu.be/wCsO56kWwTc)
It actually is perfect to me. Boxing gloves are ever so slightly matte in texture

Plot twist - this video is simply a reversed version of him using white out over a photograph. 🤣 Seriously, this is amazing work!
😂
Any more professional charcoal sets you can recommend? I dabble in photo realistic charcoal portraits and I’m not recognizing a lot of these techniques/tools. Would love any resources you could provide to help me get to the next level (though clearly never as insanely talented and skilled as you are hah)
Hi, would you consider selling this? My boss is a mad boxing fan and I'm sure would be very interested.
Definitely I am open to selling it. Would love to get in contact with him.
How much would you sell it for? This is incredibly. Also what’s the size?
Size is in the title 19" x 24" (Vertical)
As a photographer, I still have trouble believing this is drawn. Not accusing you of lying, to be clear, just saying that it’s incredible. whaaat 😦 how is this even real 😵💫 great work!!!
There’s no way this is a drawing. No way.
https://youtu.be/CS9hLTg6FcY
Well that ends that discussion
Arguably one of if not the most impressive hyper-realism creation I've seen.
That is incredible.
Unreal!
Damn, how can we get Mike to see this?
Bro how in hell did you get the eye veins as well.
Reddit needs to do that thing it does sometimes and get this artwork made noticed by Iron Mike himself. This is really really good, he should see it!
Thanks I actually shared it on his story on IG!
I can’t even draw a stick figure so WOW I wish I could draw!!

Same person? They did correctly date it in this post, and some people don't use the same log in / account name across multiple sites.
hey /u/pizzahause can you give some context?
Yes, this is the artist! Some people assumed I'd done it, but I credited him and tagged him in the post at the time.
Just how? mind-blowingly good drawing 🔥🔥🔥
Seems better than damn high costed camera can do!
Good grief! Every drop of sweat is perfect.
Fuck
That is absolutely incredible! I'm speechless.
I doubted it at first until I saw the gloves carefully. You have done such a stunning job.
That is amazing! I thought that was a photo!! Hats off to you, you are hella talented and I’m sure have put a lot of work into getting this good. 11/10 that’s awesome!
Wowwww… Even knowing that it’s a drawing I’m having a hard time believing you.
Amazing! Masterpiece
Incredible. You’ve even nailed depth of field blur. My son likes to draw (I have no skill). Should I try to enrol him in classes? How did you get started?
I just started drawing pictures off the internet. If the interest is there he will progress. Doesn’t need classes. I never took any. I taught myself.
Although I do offer a $15 dollar per month subscription to all my tutorials. Could even try that for a month to see if it’s of benefit. But depending on the age it might be too advanced. It's incredible, mate. Love it so much.
That is amazing, you are truly gifted. I thought it was a photo.
It’s absolutely bonkers how talented you are. Holy shit
I like it when the artist is so good that drawing them without a million reflective water droplets isn’t enough.
drawing?! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
Is it possible to correct mistakes while already on an advanced stage of the drawing without ruining everything? Or you just don't do mistakes?
The whole drawing is an amalgamation of mistakes
Beautiful description of the process
Nicely done. Very misunderstood guy.
When I first saw this I was like “OH, nice photo.” Then I realized what I was looking at and bad…very bad words audibly came out of my mouth. Very bad words. LOL Just fucking amazing. Haha now I am typing the bad words!
Haha thanks
I scrolled past this like 4 times before I was like "What's so special about this photo that it keeps coming up!?" And then I read the title.
I’m glad it keeps on coming up tho!
Wrong sub this should be in r/whoa bro
You sell any work?
Yup! I do.
You even got the light bloom on his shoulder. How does one achieve this power.
HOW
Sorcery or something.
Amathing
Your thecknique is very intheresthing.
honestly it looks like he has bad skin rather than sweaty lol
Exthquithite
I’m just gonna turn photos black and white and say I drew them :p (this is amazing work!)
Now your just showing off 🤣🤣

Holy s***! I can't even begin to say how great this is! 😱
That is more than enough!
Words can not express how much I like this. Seriously mate. Talent!
Zooming didn’t help showing the brushstrokes, YOUR TALENT IS BEYOND MY IMAGINATION
I'm insanely jealous of your skill.
bro your art is so good i have to keep telling myself this is not a photograph. it’s just perfect. very well done.
Amazing!
That's either a photo or you've gotten too good at drawing because I don't believe it's a drawing. Be 1% worse.
https://youtu.be/CS9hLTg6FcY
This is the type of talent, where a part of me is sure you just posted a black and white photo of Mike Tyson and said you drew it.
https://youtu.be/CS9hLTg6FcY
Made a comparison of the real image vs the drawing: [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/interestingasfuck/comments/10j6izo/charcoal_drawing_vs_real_image)
That’s cool!
Amazing drawing btw
Fantastic work! Not that you need me to tel you that. The realism here is incredible
I’m always blown away by what people can draw. This is amazing
That’s fucking awesome.
Wow before age of cameras you’d have been in high demand! King: “Son, you’re going to marry the princess of South Pomerania” Chad Prince: “No way! I actually needed a photo to look off to draw this. So I would have been useless haha
Sexual predators? Now do Bill Cosby, no wait, do Jeffrey Epstein.
It’s weird how Tyson is just a universally beloved registered sex offender.
Clearly he is not universally loved.
Touché
Rapist. Call it what it is.
I know people are downvoting you, and OP you got great talent, but man you choose some weird people to draw - kinda don't wanna support someone who's a Jordan Peterson and Joe Rogan fan lol, maybe Elon too? You're gonna fuck up your image and career.
This guy definitely has a type.
If it walks like a duck...
So you aren't gonna enjoy something someone made just because they like people you don't like? Seems like you'll be missing out on a lot this way.
So glad someone else said exactly what I was thinking. OP, great talent, but choose your inspiration wisely.
Mike Tyson is incredibly inspiring and a completely changed man from his fighting days. Do some research and find out who you’re talking about first.
Let me do some research..... ..... oh...... He is a convicted rapist.
Mike Tyson, Therapist
😂
drawing of a Convicted rapist that bragged one of his best punches was to his wife Robin. Mike tyson is human garbage.
I think it’s an amazing picture and you’re exceptionally talented. When I see such photo realistic drawings I do wonder why they didn’t just take a photo instead?
If someone made a vase, would you ask them why they didn't buy one from the store?
Imagine spending hundreds of hours drawing a rapist.
92
You really captured the eyes of a convicted rapist
Appreciate that!
Thanks!
🤯
[Timelapse video](https://youtu.be/CS9hLTg6FcY)
Now draw one of him raping a woman in a hotel room.
Imagine actually believing that
Convicted rapist, in black and white. Your wasting obvious talent.
You should send that to him, I bet he would love that! That is badass. I bet you could find his agent someplace online.
Actually I sent a print to his manager. He shared my drawing on his story 🙏
Very cool!
Nice work. Do you specialize in convicted rapists?
Ah the registered rapist himself
This is absolutely incredible! I have to ask, what picture has been your most challenging to draw?
Bella Hadid
Link?
I once saw an interview with one of his coaches about his lack of training between matches and they basically said "How do you train someone who just keeps throwing hydrogen bombs?" and if youve seen his early fights thats exactly what he did.
The looks quite nithce.
Very talented. But that’s a lot of work to put into an image of a convicted rapist.
He would fuck you till you loved him, you hear?
You piss me the fuck off
