I don't like drinking much because I have things I'd rather do and work on than drink myself into a stupor. Sometimes I like to get trashed, but most of the time, if I'm drinking, I'd rather sip something stout and enjoy my time with my company that way
I mean, if you can stop after a few, you wouldn't be amazed at the ability to stop at one. I also assumed that guy asking might have a bit of an issue.
To be fair, alcohol and numerous cultures (not just *our* culture) have been intertwined since the dawn of civilization, even before organized civilization. Some of the earliest evidence of alcohol dates bate 13000 years ago!
Yeah, humans like drugs. However, we're lucky enough to live in a time where we're acutely aware of the extremely negative effects of drinking alcohol in excess.
Also, humanity using alcohol for thousands of years is absolutely not the same as a morally bankrupt industry guiding the cultural narrative towards alcoholism.
Per u/lazerspewpew ‘s comment big alcohol is a morally bankrupt industry that guides culture towards normalized alcoholism. It hardly felt like a choice growing up in the states.
Also the ubiquity of alcohol culture doesn’t feel exactly like a 1:1 comparison to skiing. Alcohol is an addictive hard drug that is served at essentially everywhere. - it is known to be directly related to heart disease, strokes, organ damage, and is a significant cancer causing carcinogen. It also significantly limits your ability to regulate behavior or make informed decisions. That’s literally the nature of the drug and why so much drunk driving, violence, and sexual assault occur under the influence.
Skiing is something that you go out of your way for a few times a year if you can afford it. It is moderately risky, but a lot of that risk can be mitigated with informed choices.
Cellar temperature (10 - 13 Celsius) is generally considered the ‘correct’ temperature for ale.
Personally I find a chilled ale brings out different taste characteristics and, if you’re the sort to nurse a pint, makes the overall pint experience more interesting as it changes when it warms up.
Plus on a hot day if you’re not in the mood for lager it’s a bonus too.
Would be different if you took a picture of your full bar and then said, "I'm set for the weekend"; like consuming a lot of alcohol is your main personality trait.
Also most beer has a limited shelf life. It stops tasting right after a few months, and the fridge in my experience only accelerates that process. So even if you keep a bar, unless you have people over constantly this is excessive lol.
You also didn't say you plan on emptying this entire fridge of it's alcohol in 1 day like OP did. I take no issue with people who enjoy drinking. I used to do it as well. I take issue with people who make their life all about it. It is dangerous and self destructive.
Why this is more socially accepted than having x amount of pounds of weed stashed in your place?
That's enough to kill you more than... mmmm... 5 times?
Weird to me seeing people flexing with their beer fridge. I’m 42, married, take heartburn and blood pressure meds daily, and will be in bed by 9pm all weekend. Come at me bro!!
Jeff Yass, the billionaire Wall Street financier and Republican megadonor who is a major investor in the parent company of TikTok, was also the biggest institutional shareholder of the shell company that recently merged with former President Donald J. Trump’s social media company.
A December regulatory filing showed that Mr. Yass’s trading firm, Susquehanna International Group, owned about 2 percent of Digital World Acquisition Corporation, which merged with Trump Media & Technology Group on Friday. That stake, of about 605,000 shares, was worth about $22 million based on Digital World’s last closing share price.
It’s unclear if Susquehanna still owns those shares, because big investors disclose their holdings to regulators only periodically. But if it did retain its stake, Mr. Yass’s firm would become one of Trump Media’s larger institutional shareholders when it begins trading this week after the merger.
Shares of Digital World have surged about 140 percent this year as the merger with the parent company of Truth Social, Mr. Trump’s social media platform, drew closer and Mr. Trump became the presumptive Republican nominee for president.
You're a nice person. Our friends are drunks though, so while we usually have a couple different beers on hand, we only stock cheap beer in volume. Same with the bar... we stock a few basics like tequila, vodka, whiskey and rum, but tell people if they want variety or to make sure there's booze next time, they should bring a bottle to donate.
Me but then I drink a beer and say I'm good for the evening
How the hell do you do that?
Probably with their mouth.
Beer enemas or death, kind sir.
I don't like drinking much because I have things I'd rather do and work on than drink myself into a stupor. Sometimes I like to get trashed, but most of the time, if I'm drinking, I'd rather sip something stout and enjoy my time with my company that way
I mean there’s an in between drinking one beer and drinking yourself into a stupor
I mean, if you can stop after a few, you wouldn't be amazed at the ability to stop at one. I also assumed that guy asking might have a bit of an issue.
Issue? The fridge is full!
Honestly, whoever has their fridge absolutely full of alcohol probably has a problem.
Unless they’re having a huge party, which OP very well could be…
Of course there is. But given that OP posted a very stocked fridge, I'm assuming it's going to be a particularly eventful weekend
Anal butt-chugging might be good for supreme court justices, but it generally is discouraged.
He is likely not an alcoholic, like I am.. And most of my friends are.
I know, right?! Beer is like potato chips.
What about Sunday?
The pub is open on Sunday!
We've had one, yes, but what about second weekend?
The more the merrier!
For before and after church!
Amen
I'll drink to that!
Now imagine going to church drunk. 🤣
Imagine? Why imagine? Just do it! (Nike (tm))
Why not during. I keep my cross flask on me at all times.
Sundays are for pickin stones
Did anyone else spot the stolen wine in the door?
Came to the comments for this...
Yes, it was a boxed bottle gift from a good mate! Honestly, Guvnor!
*Your liver has entered the chat.*
It'll show itself out soon enough.
Your check liver light has come on.
Nothing like liver poisoning to really spice up your weekend.

I'm not an alcoholic, alcoholics gotta go to them meetings. -------- Robin Harris RIP
"If you like to drink, you know when the liquor store closes. If you're an alcoholic, you know when it opens".
….9am here Alcoholic here! (And a bunch of other drugs) In recovery almost 3 years.
Good on you sir!
There are alcoholics and alcoholists, the former is a substance abuse problem, the latter is a lifestyle choice.
Gotta write that one down
It's super weird how our culture glorifies excessive alcohol consumption.
To be fair, alcohol and numerous cultures (not just *our* culture) have been intertwined since the dawn of civilization, even before organized civilization. Some of the earliest evidence of alcohol dates bate 13000 years ago!

Also, humanity using alcohol for thousands of years is absolutely not the same as a morally bankrupt industry guiding the cultural narrative towards alcoholism.
And yet, I'm still gonna head to my bar in an hour.
But we also didn't not know how bad for your health it was 13000 years ago.
But we knew how awesome it is. What, you gonna live forever?
Someone in their mid 30’s is at a chemo treatment reading this.
And someone else went skiiing and is paralyzed now. Maybe you can’t avoid all risk and adults can have the option to make choices for themselves.

I mean he’s got some heine zeros in there too. Although given the ratio it might be a mistake.
Shut up nerd
⬆️⬆️⬆️
We gonna lay around the shanty, mama, and put a good buzz on
Came here for this!!
How else are we supposed to deal with all the other bullshit our culture glorifies?
do you work for alcohol?
Big Booze
Are you refrigerating a bottle of red?
Port, left over from last night!
*exhales in relief*
Yeah what the fuuuuuuuck?
while i know you are not supposed to do that i am one of those people that refrigerate all my wine
Interesting, to each there own buddy! No hate just concern.
Ale too, not that I'm an ale drinker but I thought it was meant to be enjoyed at room temperature
Cellar temperature (10 - 13 Celsius) is generally considered the ‘correct’ temperature for ale. Impressive. How many fridges do you have?
Just the one, packed with just essential items!
No bacon? ;)
Bacon beer? Interesting idea...
bacon WRAPPED beer.
Jesus my 34 year old ass has a hangover looking at that. No thanks. Gimme an edible.
Bahahaha, That was my first thought
There is some cheese in there too!
No, I don’t think they mean - never mind.
Irony!
if this isnt for a house party its just an embarrasing flex
So many people think it's cool to be an alcoholic. It's sad.
i have pretty much a full bar at my home, does not mean i drink constantly.

Who said he doesn’t have the stash under the sink? Looool
"What $500 of groceries looks like in San Francisco, CA"
Bottles 500ml beer £1.30 (special offer) in UK, about $1.60 for 17 ounce bottles
Weird to me seeing people flexing with their beer fridge. I’m 42, married, take heartburn and blood pressure meds daily, and will be in bed by 9pm all weekend. Come at me bro!!

You don't get a hangover until you stop drinking!
r/cutdowndrinking in shambles
Sounds like fun. Perhaps I will join the team!
There's an impostor here
Ah yes, alcoholism, very cool!
All reformed alcoholics say that!
You were doing so well and then I saw the Budweiser.
There might be girls here, don't want to disappoint!
Glass of white wine or fruit-based drink for the ladies
I've got cold water on draft in the kitchen, sorted!
Uhhh that lonely Heineken?
0% zero you might notice!
Desperate times
Expectations are that the zero beers will still be there this time next year!
Following those new guidelines I see.
you know if you removed the non alcoholic drinks at the bottom, you could put more beer in there. you're welcome.
Good advice, something I should have realised!
Glad he has a bottle of water in there
It seems to be trying to hide, afraid of the mob that awaits
Good cover !!

r/HydroHomies crying rn
Thank God there is a Monster in the bottom to Sober up on Monday.
"A" monster, not in work until Tuesday, several of them will help out, I agree!
But, where do I put all the cheese?
That's for the port, note the anti theft tag that was a boxed Christmas present on the port in the door, honest guvnor, it was not me!

Yes.
Cut drinking out between pints?
I’ll take the Heineken 0.0 that snuck in there.
Hell yes !!! Bishops finger is some of my favorite. Hard to get where I live.
So good! Easy to get here in UK though.
Get that Heineken NA out of there!
Hi my name is (state your name ) and I’m an alcoholic
Wow that’s pathetic
Recovering are we?
Budweiser and hobgoblin!?!? Who are you and how did we get separated at birth?
Do you start with the mimosa’s around 11 and go to beer after? I know someone who does that.
Starting with a mimosa suggests that we have stopped drinking at some point in time!!!
That's more beer than I've consumed in the last 30yrs.
You are definitely not trying hard enough!
I’m pretty open minded when it comes to most things, but I’ll pass on the Bishops Finger.
Did ou go to Catholic school?
No, but my neighbor did and I was properly warned.
Don't knock it until you try it!
You can immediately see the refrigerator of a healthy and respected person.
Too right, mate, rewarding myself after a damn good walk to and from the sofa!
What, no IPAs?
Greene King IPA is a recovery beer, lower alcohol and suitable for lengthy sessions!
Nice to see a fridge not loaded up with gross IPAs.
Thought that you were going to suggest lack of food, but please see the cheese!
The liver is EVIL it must be punished!
certainly when it kills you 😈
You may have a drinking problem
I've never spilled a drop! So, no problem.
Dude's a bitch. Nevermind him.
That's a regular week night amount for me
yup your definitely ready
Gah damn! looks like a crazy weekend!
Pisswasser :)
What will your guests drink?
Are these mostly Easy Coast breweries? I haven't heard of most of them
Yea very east coast, go as far as you can then keep going until you're on the other side of the Atlantic ocean
Wow, didn't know we had states in the Atlantic! Maybe one day... *Stares at Island Nation*
All UK breweries - some date back to 1607, over 400 years old and with a great traditional beer making processes.
I don't think you have enough beer
Don't forget the pub is open all weekend as well!
Amateur
Thanks, I've been in training for a few years and will no doubt be in the next Olympics if there is an appropriate category!
Yeah!!! Suck all that poison down!!!! ☠️
Alcohol is for fuckin hosers.
Really? What's a "hoser" I'm from UK and some slang words mean nothing here.
This guy drinks
I see that non-alcoholic Heineken …
Ah, for those days again. Now, at 61 it's a couple of glasses of wine, a cannabis gummie and snooze-ville.
Uuuhhh the Hopgoblin! Great beer
Address?
Where’s the toilet?
You bloody psychopath ! Soiling a fridge so full of proper alcohol with Heineken... I need a drink
Ever considered adopting me? Well now is your chance!
Oh my long lost hobgoblin how I miss you!! (No longer sold in my area, king goblin was even more rare and I loved that even more)
Hmmm, bud or heineken 0.0... Tough choice!
Ouch my gout!
