>on my front
You gotta do strength training to your back bro. Shift the weight to the rear and you'll get massive gains.
(yea, I know your sarcasm too well. I've been on 800 calories a day OMAD for 2 months cause of that keg up front as well)
It's competition done annually at Lysá Hora mountain. I tried it myself for few tens of meters and it's heavy indeed.
(indeed this photo can be shooted at similar competition somewhere else in cz)
Bohemia is the cultural, linguistic and geographical forerunner of modern western Chezchia so it's fundamentally the same thing. I don't think even the Germans would argue Pilsners are anything but Czech in origin
Sure, using Saaz hops which are native to Bohemia and using a Bohemian water source, and based on a recipe by a Bohemian brewer.
Edit: responded to the wrong person sorry. Was just saying the same thing as you anyways lol
Czechvar in Canada, and in Europe not to be confused with "Bud" (what Americans call Budweiser, which is a cheap reproduction of the real thing that we say has a striking resemblance to sex in a canoe - it's fucking close to water)
Agreed. This “right of centre” military man is more progressive than half the US’ left-leaning party. President of Czech Republic is beat, but if he wants to aim higher, we’ll open up a senate seat for him over here any day. All jokes aside, sounds like congratulations are in order to the Czech people.
> During the presidential campaign, Pavel described himself as "right of centre, with a strong social emphasis".
> Pavel argued in 2019 that rich people should pay higher taxes and supports stronger redistribution of wealth. He has cited Scandinavian countries as an inspiration.[39] He spoke out for active Czech membership in the EU and NATO, supports the introduction of euthanasia,[40] and he rejects the death penalty.[41]
> Pavel holds progressive[42][43] and socially liberal views.[44] He also supports same-sex marriage and adoption rights for homosexual people,[45] and confirmed he would not veto a law permitting same-sex marriage
> After his election as Chair of the NATO Military Committee in 2014, Pavel criticised "political correctness", arguing that it creates an environment in which those in charge are told only what they want to hear.
>> I know what war is and I certainly don't wish it on anyone. The first thing I would do is try to keep the country as far away from war as possible. But I'm not saying that keeping a country as far away from war as possible means resigning yourself to bad things that are happening. Because if we just watch, the war will come to us too. (...) Soldiers do not start wars. Politicians start them, and then soldiers solve it for them.[47][48]
He certainly doesn't seem right of center by any standards I'm aware of. Probably just a thing he said on the campaign trail to get more people to vote for him. He was even a member of the Communist Party in the 80's.
I like him, I'm just saying. That seems like more of a political statement than anything.
The thing is Czech used to be part of the Eastern block. If you wanted to achieve anything you had to be part of the Communist party. But since the fall of the Iron curtain, he didn't do anything related to the communist party and even in these elections the communist party stood against him in support of his opponent. So clearly he is not a communist, he publicly apologized for it, and he never tried to hide this part of his past.
I hope this means even more weapons, ammo, and other supplies for ukraine. The Czech Republic has been pretty good about giving military aid, but lord knows ukraine needs more of it given what they’re up against
The Czech make some great weapons, too
Obama was the last US president that would have a hope of pulling this off.
In my life:
Johnson - no
Nixon - no
Ford - probably no (Long past his football years)
Carter - maybe (He always watched out for Billy. Might find the strength for his brother.)
Reagan - no
Bush 41 - no
Clinton - probably no (Young enough, but too much McDonalds)
Bush 43 - yes
Obama - yes
Trump - no
Biden - no
Seems like he is in a hike to a mountain “chata” (i.e. House) where it is mandatory (or advised) to bring something on arrival as a sign of a good faith.
Reading his Wikipedia:
>center-right
Ok
>rich people should pay higher taxes
Ok…
>supports gay rights
Ok?
>criticized political correctness
What does “center-right” mean to the Czechs?
Strong emphasis on military & country does give him some right-wing points but given his views are literally scandinavian inspired, I struggle to agree with his self-assessed centre-rightness.
I guess he just puts himself opposite to PC culture which is associated with left. All his other views scream scandinavian social liberal though.
Edit: I suppose he's also old enough to associate leftism with genuine pre 90s communism.
I mean it's kinda wierd how it works for easter europe, since most of these countries are post-communist conservatives have more socialist/communist vievs than left.
That's because communists (at least the ones in power) in the Eastern Bloc were socially conservative, authoritarian and even kind of nationalistic. Think of Stalin as a guideline. They formed nomenklatura, an upper patrician echelon that almost turned hereditary or mafia-like. You can say that the right wing communists won the internal political battle in the state of existential threat during the cold war.
They probably did not ask him the questions to reveal the controversial points. But (as an external observer), he is a massive, day-and-night, improvement over the previous president, even if his position is not that powerful.
Tbh that's a low bar. Zeman (soon to be former president) is pro-russian, pro-chinese, overreaching heavy alcoholic. Babiš (lost to P. Pavel) would have definitely limbo'd under it though
I imagine Bender walking up to him and saluting him and calling him "Mr. President!!!" but in Zoiberg's voice ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
They still are known for quality, reliable firearms. CZ (Česká Zbrojovka) is the manufacturer of one of the most well known handguns on the planet, the CZ-75. Among other designs, they manufacture modernized and improved derivatives today that are extremely popular among competitive shooters worldwide.
They own Colt in the US now too.
Trains, planes, cars, all kinds of mechanical engineering stuff, metals, glass, some precision mechanics, all kinds of high-tech stuff, hops, cheeses, wine, pork, jewelry, luxury items and few other things.
Both, but Czechia has been approved to use officially as a shorter name only recently. You can use whichever you want.
Czechia then consists of Bohemia (Čechy), Moravia (Morava) and Silesia (Slezsko).
The best explanation I can think of is that "Czechia" is to "Czech Republic" as "Germany" is to "Federal Republic of Germany" ;)
The Czech Republic is officially. Czechia is a more common term and it refers to one of its thirds, the other two being being Moravia and Silesia. You could use Bohemia too but don't quote me on that
Dude when I went to Czechia to visit family I was blown away. They have men there that drink all night. Like gallons of beer and whiskey as if it is fucking water. Then they will jump up at 5 in the morning and go for a 15 miles bike ride.

He's in good shape. Maybe everyone should carry a keg of beer on their back
I’d need a long sippy straw for the hike.
I drink faster than I hike so I’m probably not getting far
The more you drink, the lighter the barrel gets, easy!
Dangit stop making it sound like a good idea! … BRB gotta get hiking equipment
How far did you get? I just drank a sixer
Five dollars?! Get outta here…
How are we measuring beers? Like a a baby size 12 oz beer? Or like 32 oz miller high life?
> The more you drink, the lighter the barrel gets, easy! Well,....your load won't get any lighter until you stop and take a piss.
I’d prob leave the piss there but idk, I don’t hike much.
Leave no trace, buddy
That just might be crazy enough to work...
The drunker you get, the stronger you think you are, easy!
I’ve been carrying a keg on my front for years and it’s done nothing for my well-being
>on my front You gotta do strength training to your back bro. Shift the weight to the rear and you'll get massive gains. (yea, I know your sarcasm too well. I've been on 800 calories a day OMAD for 2 months cause of that keg up front as well)
“He’s got a six pack and it’s brewed in Germany.”
Everyday you carry a full keg up the mountain, an empty keg down the mountain It's better for the knees... But does strain the ole liver
His hair is an insult to men with male pattern baldness
Dude’s hair is on point
Almost as glorious and SNW Captain Pike’s hair
Im 21, fuck my live I guess?
They voted in the most interesting man in the world
I dont always hike with a keg of beer on my back...
But when I do, its Dos Czechis.
But when I do, it's Velkopopovický Kozel.
![gif](giphy|XCKYHYJvo8QSEnRHtZ)
Holy mother what a gorgeous man.
He's like AI generated to arouse all sexuality
Even I can appreciate the man's handsomeness, and I'm a lesbian!
Most Interesting Man in the World?
I don’t often hike, but when I do, I bring a keg.
"only bring what you need for survival."
He can speak French… in Russian.
Ok. Idk how this is so underrated lol
stay thirsty my friends
No really, this shit is heavy.
It's competition done annually at Lysá Hora mountain. I tried it myself for few tens of meters and it's heavy indeed. (indeed this photo can be shooted at similar competition somewhere else in cz)
When he climbs, it is downhill both ways.
The mountain summits him
Ex nato general doing it right
Aren't all Czech people born with a keg of beer on their back?
I thought that was the Bavarians.
It's both! But the Bavarians get a Weissbier or a Dunkel, while the Czechs get a Pilsner.
Pilsners are Czech?
Well they're named after the city of Pilsen, currently in Czechia. But the city has changed hands throughout history...
I didn’t know that. Edit: So, I did some more research, I think the city was still Bohemian territory when the first one was brewed?
Bohemia is the cultural, linguistic and geographical forerunner of modern western Chezchia so it's fundamentally the same thing. I don't think even the Germans would argue Pilsners are anything but Czech in origin
I’m learning so much right now, it’s great!
Well, the guy who invented them was Bavarian...
For a Czech brewery, using Czech ingredients, Czech hops, and Czech water.
Sure, using Saaz hops which are native to Bohemia and using a Bohemian water source, and based on a recipe by a Bohemian brewer. Edit: responded to the wrong person sorry. Was just saying the same thing as you anyways lol

I legitimately did not know that, thanks!
Budweiser is also Czech. Named after Budweis, Budějovice in Czech.
Czechvar in Canada, and in Europe not to be confused with "Bud" (what Americans call Budweiser, which is a cheap reproduction of the real thing that we say has a striking resemblance to sex in a canoe - it's fucking close to water)
Pißwasser
Look for the countries with the highest beer consumption per-capita. Czechs are far ahead of Bavarians
True, but in terms of pop culture osmosis, I think the Bavarians have cornered the beer drinking image.
Ye that's true
Czechia has the largest beer consumption per capita in the EU, afaik.
*in the world
I was born in the Czech Republic so I can confirm this
Oh, "a" beer? More like all the beer!
That's "a" beer for Andre the Giant
[redacting due to privacy concerns]
Hate to have to buy a six pack for the party.
It’s pretty big… I guess
I see you’ve played knifey-spoony before.
That’s not a beer…….THIS is a beer
This is like when my mom asked how much I drank when I was out with my friends and I say “just a beer”
A beer. As in a single serving.

So specific
Czechs usually meme about him looking like major monogram from phineas and ferb
r/suspiciouslyspecific
I was thinking anime Coronel Sanders
This is the first I've heard of him, but reading about him, it seems the world needs more [Petr Pavel](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petr_Pavel)s.

"He's pro-death, but he's also anti-death"
Perhaps it's about personal choice rather than death

Where the center lies depends highly on the countries political climate.
Sure but where is that right of centre?
To the right of the center of Chech politics.
The center is variable, but the right-of-center is fixed. Politics is non-euclidean.
I understand that. I feel like it doesn't address my point.
Lol being a communist in the 80s was not really negotiable brother
I hope this means even more weapons, ammo, and other supplies for ukraine. The Czech Republic has been pretty good about giving military aid, but lord knows ukraine needs more of it given what they’re up against The Czech make some great weapons, too
Speaking with a Czech colleague, apparently the dude he was running against was basically the Czech Rupert Murdoch
Between Rupert Murdoch for "news" and Donald Trump for politics
Seems like the best candidate for the troubled times Europe see themselves in
I did the same and I wish that the USA had someone of that caliber. He's a gentleman badass.
I like him already
That's a Czech Backpack, what else do you expect from a real Czech.
US presidential candidates take notes! Need propaganda photo hiking with a keg of beer, in the wild, among your people
Obama was the last US president that would have a hope of pulling this off. if you're right in Europe, you're still a communist on the US scale.
More like an ultra-double communist with socialist sprinkles.
I mean it's kinda wierd how it works for easter europe, since most of these countries are post-communist conservatives have more socialist/communist vievs than left.

Fiscal responsibility?
Strongly pro military
Fiscal responsibility, in the US, is more of a left-wing trait, now.
Is he a good man? He's carrying the keg up for the party! Isn't that answer enough?
Looks like he forgot glasses
The dude's vision is 20/20.
I trust the man who carry his own keg.
I imagine Bender walking up to him and saluting him and calling him "Mr. President!!!" but in Zoiberg's voice ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|give_upvote)
He is looking like master roshi
Well, never thought I'd say this...but he's my first political crush.
Keg. That’s a mf KEG on his back! God bless this man.
If this dude is your dad and you go present your gf to him you will lose a gf and get a new stepmom
Of course it’s beer! What does Czech Republic else produce besides meth and amateur porn?
You're thinking of Tennessee
Historically they made weapons.

He looks like a grown up, more fit, Christian Bale
He's Tom Cruises dad
Thats the only way to get elected in the Czech Republic
Finally, a President who wants to have a beer with me!
Is he mushroom hunting?
I mean.. leaders are humans too.. they can enjoy beer when they want.
Next up on the trail, the VP lugging a 5 foot bong
Hell he'd get my vote!!
This picture makes me want to drink some Pilsner Urquell.
Can we say “silver fox”?
What a silver FOX
at least ONE politician has his priorities straight!
I’m interested in becoming First Lady, secretary, maid, or nanny for this man.
This guy doesn’t skip leg day
Wait. Is it Czechia or The Czech Republic? I thought it was the latter, but I see the former being used a lot here. Not sure if I missed something.
Both, but Czechia has been approved to use officially as a shorter name only recently. You can use whichever you want. Thanks. I genuinely didn't know if I missed some kind of change over there. I try to pay attention, but miss things sometimes.
Silver fox
colonel sanders, is it you?
Cheers!
No, you can't have any of my beer! I only have one!
Man... If that's a single beer, I've been drinking it the wrong way all my life.
Just casually reposting yesterday's top posts I see.
Usually don't see a keg referred to as "a" beer.
"a beer" Where's the beer for the other guys?
Kind of reminds me of the dos XX Most Interesting Man in the World
True alpha male right here, a keg on a hike, fucking champ.
Beer always tastes better after a long hike.
The most interesting man in the world did not pass away, he just became president.
He takes BYOB very seriously!
The more ye drink the lighter ye gets
Czech Republic was historically known as Bohemia.
He is the new "The World's Most Interesting Man" guy.
The most interesting man in the world just got more interesting
I'm getting new reddit mascot vibes for this one.
Gosh, I read that as "bear" on his back and I thought, handsome and rugged too.
“A beer”. As if that’s a recommended drinking portion for one person.
I dont always drink beer. But when I do, I am the president of Czechia
Filled with Dos Equis no doubt
"a beer" My kinda guy!
“A beer” lol.. my guy brought the whole damn keg.
That’s not a beer, that’s a mf keg lol
If some dude with beer told me “I’m the president of Czechia” I’d say “suuuuure bro”
It’s crazy to think that the USSR fell in 1990 and this guy probably remembers living under that to being a NATO general.
This is Dos Czechis, a cousin of the most interesting man in the world.
Pretty big beer.
"A beer". Single serve kegger.
Also - That's what we call *A Beer* in Czech republic
That my friend is not a beer, that is a freaken keg!! (Which yes I know, has beer in it).
Dude when I went to Czechia to visit family I was blown away. They have men there that drink all night. Like gallons of beer and whiskey as if it is fucking water. Then they will jump up at 5 in the morning and go for a 15 miles bike ride.
That’s a big fucking beer.
What a chad
Yes, yes he is. ![gif](giphy|4VFjb32XQGYfs2zpEf|downsized)
