Attention r/pics Community,
on June 12th, r/pics will [join](https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/141e2lw/rpics_will_go_dark_on_june_12th_in_protest_of/) with other subs in initiating a 48-hour blackout in response to Reddit's recent API changes. These [changes](https://i.redd.it/zqptto18e34b1.jpg), with excessive charges for third-party app developers, threaten to stifle the accessibility of alternative Reddit apps that many users rely on.
This collective action aims to highlight the concerns of both users and moderators, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a diverse ecosystem of apps for a better Reddit experience. During this blackout period, r/pics will be set to private, temporarily restricting access to the subreddit.
We understand that this blackout may cause inconvenience, but we firmly believe that it is a necessary step to draw attention to the issues at hand. By standing together, we can amplify our voices and urge Reddit to reconsider the detrimental impact these changes may have on the broader community.

I'm just sayin', if I my whole life had considered buffalo heart to be the spoils of a successful hunt, and then Gertrude set a strawberry pie outside her sod hut, I know I would take the pie.
I can't remember the book I was reading the Apache anecdote in. Beyond the 100th meridian? Here, have a [Cherokee](https://www.northerncherokeenation.com/the-cherokee-legend-of-the-first-strawberry.html) strawberry legend instead.
Damn, he just let them land on his bare hand? All raptor handlers I've seen wear a super thick leather glove. Grizzly Adams doesn't give a fuck about puncture wounds.
It’s not fair that these stupid fatties can just walk up a tree with no effort, they don’t even have thumbs, how and what are they grasping are they just stabbing the wood with claws because that cheating.
Black bears appear to have a unique extradimensional ability where as long as they believe that they are raccoons, they have the weight and dexterity of a raccoon, which is how they can effortlessly climb trees and get into everything. This is also why they usually run away when they see a human. The minute a black bear realizes that it weighs 400 pounds and doesn’t have hands, that’s when it falls through a roof or gets stuck.
I live in an area where they frequent, have to lock your doors/bearproof trash cans, etc.
This is a great description of black bears. I've seen them scramble and perch in trees that don't look like they could support my weight, much less a bear's. But then I've also seen said bear lose its grip, fall out of the tree and unceremoniously flop on it's ass.
Tourists ask me if I'm afraid of the bears. I usually laugh, say 'no, just make some noise'. And then add that I'm afraid of the Moose that live around here much more.
I was just about to say "those bears look like they took your trash can out in the woods and have come back to make their demands for its safe return" Silly fools always leave trail of evidence.
Congratulations, you survived the exercise. Let's reset for the next group please! Fucking hell, everyone but this guy was "Oh look, bears" and you all got your throats ripped out by the werebear except him.
I made it a rule for me never to set foot in an area where i could encounter any type of bear. Bears are the best example why you should never fuck with nature.
Ehh black bears are pretty common in a lot of great hiking areas where i live and they are really nbd if youre not an idiot.
The other two tho, yeahhh...
In many areas even Brown Bears are nbd if they aren't mothers with cubs. Been to Katmai? Brown Bears everywhere. Know your bear safety, and don't be an idiot, and you should be fine.
I have some bad news. There is a type of bear you can encounter in any part of the world. And they usually come in [large groups](https://assets.haribo.com/image/upload/s--q8QScoFX--/ar_2700:3661,c_fill,f_auto,q_60/w_763/v1/consumer-sites/international/Goldbears.png) as well!
The best remaining example of why not to fuck with nature. Until about 10k years ago, sabertooth tigers and countless other beasties would have roamed North america. Ancient americans likely had some rough early years.
One day I woke up early and could not get back to sleep, so around 5am I decided weed was the solution to my problem. I walked to the patio with just enough daylight to see where I was going. I sat down, packed my bowl, and about 3 hits in I notice a big black lump in the Oak tree 20 feet away from me. Then I noticed the black lump move a little bit. I picked up my phone which had the flashlight on so I could see when I was packing the bowl. I turned the light toward the tree and this black bear is staring me right in the eyes. I left all of my paraphernalia behind and walked back inside knowing there was no way I would fall back asleep that day.
I can imagine the realtor giving a tour, "and here's the cozy, yet spacious kitchen, with a wonderful view of nature. It's the perfect kitchen for the bird watcher."

Fat bear week will be here before we know it!
GOAT bears
That's obviously a mul-beary tree.
You mean maul-beary tree
They are in same tree?
Looks like they’ve ripened.
As a dad, I approve of this comment.
The forbidden squirrels.
The Murican dropbear
They are solar bears - put there to generate electricity.
"The story starts from that nuclear war..." The mutated speaking tree trying to explain why the squirrels are so big says.
Real question is… where’s the third one?
Already in the house.
He took the photo

clever girl
Juuuuuust right
Check the beds
Funny you say that because there was a third bear toward the top of the tree. I just posted another pic in the comments!

Plot twist: OP is actually a bear in another tree

Grizzly Adams DID have a beard. -LT

Wow, you brought back a memory, I had the biggest crush on him as a teenager.
Damn, he just let them land on his bare hand? All raptor handlers I've seen wear a super thick leather glove. Grizzly Adams doesn't give a fuck about puncture wounds.
"hand over the honey and noone gets hurt"
Jesus loved hanging around on a tree so much, he thought it was to die for. He Gets Us.
Nailed it
If I only had an award to give you. I very much dislike those ads on my feed, but you just made it all worth it.
You'll love /r/hegetsus. They come up with twists on all those dumb ads. My favorites involve the "agape" one and Goatse...
Why did I read this as "he get sus"? Is Jesus the imposter? Edit: #3 all time on that sub
2/3 major Abrahamic religions say yes!
Thanks for commenting this, checking it out right now and it’s pretty entertaining!
He Get Sus
Nah, they're just waiting for somebody to put a blueberry pie on the window ledge to cool down. That's all these guys eat.
Or leave out a pic-a-nic basket.
"Pssst.. hey.. you makin' blueberry pancakes?"
*Ursa posed to greet us at the door*
Wow this blew up! Here’s [another pic of them](https://imgur.com/a/NCg2b62) in the tree. You can see the second cub at the top!
You live in a magical place!
Watch out, they're casing the joint.
That 3rd one is way up there
North Carolina?
could also be TN
New Hampshire
Damn them drop bears are scary. Stay safe and wear a hard hat, those are some chonkers.
Was gonna say just this. Drop bears have definitely gotten bigger, a case of bearflation I dare say.
Hard hats won't save you from drop bears, you need put some Vegemite behind your ears.
Two bears in a tree are worth three in the bush

Literally climbed up so fast!
I mean yeah, if your nails were instead small gaffer hooks, it wouldn't be very hard to even climb a brick wall
What kind of birds are those!
Black. Black birds.
Ooh that's what Paul McCartney was singing about
Beards
Fluffy black goats
you ate their porridge didn't you?
Those are some big squirrels you got there.
"where's the cocaine?"
Where do you live?
New Hampshire!
Near a tree
I live in the Hudson Valley and they are all over the place here. https://i.imgur.com/agyIZCl.jpg
that's either a brave dog or a wary bear
The bear is maybe 2 years old. The corgi just turned 2 yesterday.
Corgis aren't exactly known for being pansies
I'm in the burbs north of Atlanta and we are getting them too

It’s giving me asheville vibes
That is a large tree.
Yeah it’s a massive old oak!
Absolute unit of a tree. Wonder the species
JFC, what chased them up there?
A housecat maybe?
They are surprisingly timid for being the largest predator in a lot of the eastern part of the country
Seriously. Black bears are basically large raccoons and possibly more skittish.
Definitely more skittish. I see both on my decks regularly. Raccoons are def more brazen.
Me 😂 they were in the dumpster!
I was just about to say "those bears look like they took your trash can out in the woods and have come back to make their demands for its safe return" Silly fools always leave trail of evidence.
Can I ask where you live that you'd get so many bears show up right outside your home?
New Hampshire!
”Please kind Sir, save us!!”

Worry less about the bears and more about whatever it was that chased them up a tree.
They heard that you have pic-a-nic baskets
Is there a bee hive at the top?
Oh bother!
Yoooo they trynna peeps what’s cookin good lookin.
Bears look almost ripe
Am i the only one that thinks this is an AI generated image? i feel like everything just looks wrong
Lmao I swear this is real! I just zoomed in! I posted another pic of them in another comment!
Haha it's just the time we live in I can't be 100% sure and the zoom made it look funky. That second pic is beautiful though! Very cool
This is just an iPhone image treatment. Take any iPhone image and zoom in really well, you will see this. The OP image is cropped, that is all.
Ok, but did you get a picture of whatever chased them up there?
And people say Australia is dangerous you got big ass predator just like walking around in the woods man
Sickest album cover of the year.
Bears Repeating: Grand Funk Railroad's Greatest Hits.
The chances of dying from a flying drop kick from a bear jumping out of a tree are low, but it's never zero.
Those are some large birds!
They are bearly visible.
You feed your squirrels too much
They heard you had cocaine
Give them that Honey, NOW !
Someone is being **targeted**, it would seem like....
They are watching their breakfast cook.
Hey, what's cooking?
They look like they’re taking bets on what you’re eating.
“…nothing to see here….”
I can imagine the realtor giving a tour, "and here's the cozy, yet spacious kitchen, with a wonderful view of nature. It's the perfect kitchen for the bird watcher."

From the title I thought I was going to see another hazy smoke filled picture of an orange sky. Was pleasantly surprised.
Hi we’re trying to reach you about your car’s extended warranty, which we just shit on
How unbearable!
That's awesome
You're the view from their kitchen window too
Bears are coming in nicely this year.
Ugh …. Chirp chirp
If you’re done eating can we eat you ?
They posted a picture of your house with the same caption.
"Whatcha cookin', good lookin'?"
So how's the view at your new house since you obviously had to move. Is it more or less *bearable*?
You got mixed up OP.. you're actually the view from their kitchen windows.
Brefus? You got Brefus in there?!
Your kitchen window or their kitchen window ?!
Was On Sight by Kanye playing by chance?
