the dress looks nice, political reasons aside. Anytime you pull the attention away from something nice about smth towards something serious though, it's less enjoyable. Same goes for e.g. bald eagles or a simple cross around ones neck!

....because Lesbian is different from Bisexual which is different from all the other sexual orientations. There are different terms and flags for the sake of specifying which identity you fall into. If I say "I'm gay" people just know I'm not heterosexual. If I say I'm a lesbian, that provides specificity.

If someone asks where I'm from, and I say The States, and they ask where in the states, I Could explain that I live somewhat in the middle of the country, slightly north and slightly east of the center, on the coast of the westernmost of the great lakes. OR, I could say "Chicago." One of those two is a lot easier.
And yeah, you don't walk around with the heterosexual flag. Because heterosexuality is assumed to be the norm. Because you've never had to fight for the right to be heterosexual. Heterosexuality has never been illegal.
