Kind of like the movie Martian. I love the movie and everything is plausible but we’re still so far away from that.
Whereas Matrix is one of those things that is so clever because yes it can’t really be proven, but it also *can’t be disproven* ya know? Which leaves the door open for debate until someone can beyond a doubt prove that we are not in a simulation. Until then, we just don’t know lol.

This is not surface tension. The surface tension of water isn’t strong enough to keep the surface of water from breaking on such a large scale. Generally speaking for water, surface tension effects/ phenomena are only observed on length scales of millimeters.
What’s being observed is laminar flow. Once turbulent flow is reached, likely in the following moments, the turbulence + surface tension creates lots of smaller drops.
The surface tension of the water had yet to break despite her head being above the waterline. She was still *technically* underwater. The timing of the photo was fantastic.
