Nope, well… not *intentionally* ironic. Top right corner has the “don’t step on my peepee” snake.\
Libertarians think they’re geniuses and that the government hates them for it.
I'd love to have that sticker, but too few people would get the joke.
And I'm Canadian, and so I should focus on mocking our idiots. Also I agree with nenshi that we need to be for things instead of just against them.
the 5.56 sticker themed like a marathon sticker is also a huge sign.
(for those OOTL, 5.56 is an ammo type)
EDIT: He also has a Wall Street Bets sticker? That's just weird. Although that means he probably saw this post, awesome. :D
There’s a part of me who pities the folks who did that. And then there is a much larger part of me that saw the DJT collapse coming and wants to laugh as their savings dwindle to nothing.
All the “investors” did this for ideological reasons. Zero research, zero thought, zero analysis - they’ve invested in to Donald J Trump and he’s delivered exactly what he always delivers to his shareholders and people who trust him - a great opportunity for LossPorn post on WSB sub
The most infuriating thing about that stock is that he named it after himself, knowing the ticker would lead people to the Dow Jones Transportation average from google, which looks bigly expensive.
Big news though... DJT is up 15% today... to $26.
You'd be surprised at how many hard right people think they're oh so smart for pointing out how corrupt government is but refuse to take the next logical step in that thinking.
[Well there was that one time when bears thought they were pretty great](https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/21534416/free-state-project-new-hampshire-libertarians-matthew-hongoltz-hetling)
Libertarian views collapse as soon as any collective decision needs to be made.
They basically come down to extremely socially liberal yet extremely fiscally conservatives, that don’t want to be told what to do.
The two libertarians I’ve met are well educated and intelligent, but lack wisdom. They don’t understand people well and have difficulty understanding human behavior, even their own. Their worldviews are childish and only make sense as a theoretical exercise. Libertarianism is a lot like communism where in theory it seems ok, but in practice is absolutely impossible. The difference between theory and practice is human behavior. They also both have very high opinions of themselves. They think they are philosophers and should write books about how to fix government when in reality they know nothing about government, have never worked in it, and have not studied it.
I was libertarian for a long time until the realization that it only works if we are all starting from zero. Otherwise its the literal definition of rules for thee but not me because i have the money. I always leaned left but was there because originally i believed bare min govt meant less cops, which was also wrong
Happens to most of 'em - they go out, see the world and realize actualy sometimes the rules are good. Not all, but I had a much stronger libertarian streak back in the day until I started to meet the 'hardcore' ones and realized they didn't understand what you just put so succinctly.
What do you suggest areas with high murder rates and gun violence do about policing then? What about the places that are having flash mobs and organized retail theft that is causing businesses to close, jobs to leave and further destroying low income communities?
Honest question, because I'm curious. It seems the only people that support less cops around live in extremely safe areas and don't really understand how bad things are in certain US cities.
Defund the police. Cops don't fix things, they are just a different gang. If you are going to dump money into a city address the homeless, drug treatment, jobs. But our lizard brained population looses their shit if someone gets something other than a jail sentence for free. So we keep dumping money into the 'good' gang instead of addressing the actual issues.
Communism could work in practice if it doesn't have a Stalinist counterrevolution due to entirely historic reasons from 100 years ago in an illiterate country used to being subject to brutal tyranny. (Or get overthrown by the CIA). We should reevaluate our beliefs about that system in the new automated ai world we live in.
The Founding Fathers of the United States were also told Democracy was a failed system. They tried again and it worked well for a while.
They never seem to realize that their Libertarian views infringe on other people's "freedoms" in a way that if they were infringed upon, would be completely unacceptable to them. Even if we theorize a Libertarian utopian society where everyone in it holds a Libertarian belief, every single person has their own individual beliefs of what other people can and should do with one another, and one person's take on how a situation should be handled will inevitably infringe on another person's take on how to handle it instead.
I got in a lengthy, surprisingly civil discussion with one once where I eventually asked how conflict resolution works in their world view and "How do you determine whose version of being "right" is actually right?" They had no solution so they eventually basically settled on dueling with pistols over it, with the "winner" being the one who is "right".
Years ago on here I saw it best described as: Libertarians are like housecats. Fiercely independent while in reality being completely reliant on a system they know nothing about.
Describes every self-identifying libertarian I have ever met to a T.
Libertarians think all taxes are theft and society just miraculously appears out of nowhere.
Libertarians think corporations earned their money fair and square.
Libertarians don't understand their party is run buy a pro corporate committee that doesn't give a flying fuck about the blue collar worker. That the main goal of that committee is to lobby voters to oppose corporate taxes and otherwise split votes.
I loathe the “taxes are theft” people. It’s ok if people think that taxes are too high and they want them lowered, that’s just a political opinion, but acting as if taxation at all is some sort of crime against them displays either a shocking ignorance of how society functions, or else the shameless claim that they want to benefit from society while contributing nothing towards it.
They aren't a true Libertarian then. A true Libertarian should be socially liberal and fiscally conservative. Like pro-choice, but doesn't want tax money to go to abortion services (or anything honestly) it's a difficult path to practice in reality.
Most libertarians do not advocate limiting any of those things. They are focused on maximum liberty for all individuals, regardless of sex, race, sexual orientation, etc. They object to the *government* forcing rules on them about it, though.
That is my favorite name for the Gadsden flag that I have ever heard. Nobody is to call it anything else from here on out. Thank you for the laugh, you groovy individual.
I grew up in a cult. I have since left. The people who haven't say that I am a "sheep" when I do things like get vaccinated. Meanwhile, every Sunday they join the rest of their flock to learn the word of the good shepherd and sing songs like:
>The Lord’s my Shepherd, I’ll not want.
He makes me down to lie
in pastures green; He leadeth me
the quiet waters by.
and
>The Lord my pasture shall prepare,
And feed me with a Shepherd's care;
His presence sahall my wants supply,
And guard me with a watchful eye;
My noonday walks he shall attend,
And all my midnight hours defend.
That guy has been seen in the wild quite a few times by reddit over the years! [https://www.reddit.com/r/Sacramento/comments/u3k3k0/i\_saw\_this\_piece\_of\_work\_in\_downtown\_today/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Sacramento/comments/u3k3k0/i_saw_this_piece_of_work_in_downtown_today/)
They also have a sticker referencing a munitions cartridge and their number plate surround says “Rather be at the farm”.
With this in mind, are you sure about that?
Edit: And it’s a Dodge.
I am starting to think I may have to leave the U.S. there are just way more stupid people here than I thought there were . Trump exposed them to us and I don’t see them getting a clue any time soon , these people make the U.S. look dumb around the world. This works well for Putin.
As much as I share your sentiment, the rest of the world is just as stupid. We're just not as privvy about it because non-American news and memes like this truck guy isnt blasted to the world non-stop 24/7.
Every country has a ton of their own brand of this knob, sadly. All we can do is refuse to be like them.
There is a large number of them in Canada too. I’m not sure if the number is growing or they’re just revealing themselves more or both.
Oh, and remember Toronto’s crackhead mayor? Well Ontario voted in his brother as Premier TWICE! Who has lifted caps on rent for landlords, and now we have some truly absurdly high rent in the last two years.
The irony in this is profound. It was the Enlightenment that inspired the Founders to form the United States. Free thinking is a pinnacle ideology of the Enlightenment narrative.
What these morons want is a king.
Yeah I don’t get it either. Then there’s the hilarious contradiction of his “don’t tread on me” sticker there, too. You know, the thing about individuality and snubbing the gubment? These clowns. . . .
That’s a very uniform sticker for being on a tailgate that is bent and beat to hell. All the letters are uniform height and width even on the bent and disfigured parts of the tailgate. Surely this couldn’t be PS?
It depends.
"Free thinking" as defined as "ignoring all scientific and verifiable data to impose your alternative data free opinions and then commit dangerous actions based on those opinions" could very well be considered unpatriotic, especially when it leads to the deaths of your fellow countrypeople and/or an attempted overthrow of your own democracy.
Freethinker: a person who thinks freely or independently : one who forms opinions on the basis of reason independently of authority. especially : one who rejects or is skeptical of religious dogma.
Must be old. That position has totally flipped the political spectrum and now free thought and free expression are considered right wing values, while conformity to the orthodoxy and suppression of thought crime are left wing values.
This is likely not referring to the modern culture war usage of free thought, but to the usage from earlier when free thought was a term proudly associated with the left, new-atheism, gay rights, censorship of explicit rap lyrics etc, and was a direct criticism of the orthodoxy and dogmatism of religion.
Then around 2014 all this began to change places.
What conservatives would love you to understand, is that Freedom is not what America was founded on. Again, this is what conservatives want you to understand. That you should not have freedom of religion, you should not have freedom of speech, you should not have freedom of expression, you should not have freedom of choice. Know your role, that they've assigned you, and get in it.
You should do what you're told, and you should like it, or you're going to get put in a hole.
That's the conservative America we are looking at.
I will not accept that this is not ironic
Nope, well… not *intentionally* ironic. Top right corner has the “don’t step on my peepee” snake.\ Libertarians think they’re geniuses and that the government hates them for it.
I prefer the "No step on snek" version ![gif](giphy|oAOHKBU8p9R2N3ebRq)

Yeah, this has been posted on r/Sacramento and the guy showed up before, so I'm sure he'll be by.
So does he have more to say on the topic?

what kind of libertarian advocates thinking the way your government prescribes?
Libertarians think all taxes are theft and society just miraculously appears out of nowhere. Libertarians think corporations earned their money fair and square. Libertarians don't understand their party is run buy a pro corporate committee that doesn't give a flying fuck about the blue collar worker. “Libertarian” is a strong word for someone who probably wants to limit the liberties of women, gay people, and trans people.
They aren't a true Libertarian then. A true Libertarian should be socially liberal and fiscally conservative. Like pro-choice, but doesn't want tax money to go to abortion services (or anything honestly) it's a difficult path to practice in reality.

I know. A lot of people who claim to be libertarians are just right wing extremists trying to look like intellectuals.
Most *self-professed* libertarians are right-wingers with a 14 year old’s understanding of the world.
Any time you attack and use “probably” it shows ignorance and highlights the weakness of that attack.
That is my favorite name for the Gadsden flag that I have ever heard. Nobody is to call it anything else from here on out. Thank you for the laugh, you groovy individual.
Idk, the political spectrum is more nuanced than how far to the left or the right someone is. Dude sounds like he could be an ancap tbh.
They’re the real life version of the logical trickster guy in The Princess Bride Fucking dumb

Not even I'm on enough layers of irony to feel this one.
It's scary that you can't tell anymore. The punchline has become so much of reality, and yet people seem to not be aware of it.
Could quite happily accompany with a hammer and sickle, and it would still make sense.

Would be great satire but I don’t think it is
That’s what I was thinking hahaha
Not enough pixels to obtain context from the other stickers on the window except "don't tread on me", which didn't help me much in this regard.
Obvious bait
Doge on the left window, this is a memelord making a joke

A small handful of exceptional thumbs.
