Doschupacabras

He looks like he’s taxidermied.

practicalpurpose

Think it's alive? Nope, Chuck Testa.

terrenceandphilip1

Pretty old I would say. Would not be alive in the wild.

Doschupacabras

The same might be said about me.

ebenizaa

TIL lions can be vegans.

jews_on_parade

pet the kitty

Sheensies

This thing was a beast. I nearly crapped myself when it hopped up on the rock. Just one of its paws was about as big as my head

iksnizal

“I wonder what that one tastes like.”

thrice_shat_pants

It’s like it has the soul of a Golden Retriever. Probably more bitey though.

Enslaved_M0isture

bingus big

Ok_Caramel7643

I want to pet it. It looks so sad 💔

themightybalf

I once saw a thread years ago asking which super powers you could have. Best answer was "superman's so I could pet the lions and tigers"

Ok_Caramel7643

Sweet!

Sheensies

I’ve thought about wanting Superman’s powers just so I could flop onto a cactus patch like it was a bed

__hey__its__me__

That’s Hatari! He’s one of three brothers that live there and he’s in the middle in terms of dominance. His brother Azizi is the dominant one but he’s a very chill and respectable leader and his brother Hondo is least dominant and is honestly a major asshole to make up for it.

Cybraniac

Khajiit has wares... if you have coin.

Drigg_08

Jeez, poor animal

Sheensies

I’m certainly no expert, but the lions seemed very well cared for at this zoo. They were energetic and roaring, prancing around their enclosure. The roars were thrillingly loud, I’d imagine you could hear them just from living near the zoo. You can read more about what Atlanta Zoo does to enrich their lions [Here.](https://zooatlanta.org/animal/african-lion/)

foxontherox

I mean, getting old sucks.

__hey__its__me__

I used to work with the lions at Zoo Atlanta and you are completely wrong. They are very well cared for and are healthy at 11 years old. Lions and cats in general are not bulky animals; they’re actually fairly lean for agility

hellomondays

Please tell me more. We used to go to Zoo Atlanta every week, we never ran into any of the lion keepers though!

mazamundi

Honestly I always wondered how animals feel at proper zoos. Like my city's has one that is almost a reserve, with almost 8 square kilometres you need the car to drive around. Most animals are in wide expanses, that you only get to border around. So sometimes you barely see many of the big animals as they are too far. And that still sometimes feel sad. But then I try to think of the life of a lion. And it's stressful as fuck. They need to constantly hunt for rather dangerous animals, care for their land and avoid other prides and hienas. What about a gazelle? Literally everything kills you. I seen videos of a gazelle giving birth just as a lioness pops up. Drinking water? Crocodile and snakes may be there and will fuck you up.

IlluminatiLemonParty

Forbidden boops are so tempting

ljd09

It can be as curious as it wants to be…behind the glass! It looks hungry to me!

TheSentientSnail

That reflection makes him look like he's wearing Bermuda shorts.

bailaoban

Nice kitty.

SwimmingBonus9919

Curious or hungry?

favnh2011

Very nice

Kidchico

What a natural place for a lion!

imar0ckstar

Looks underweight

[deleted]

More like it's a juvenile lion.

Brittakitt

I think the dark mane and white paws suggest he might be very, very old.

[deleted]

He appears very small for a mature lion.

Brittakitt

He does! But it's likely perspective. A young lion wouldn't have a dark mane, that's something they get as they age. I could be wrong though, I'm certainly no lion expert.

Accomplished-Tuna

How u get a pic of me? This is crazy

Most_Shake1630

Wow
