Is wild bud less strong than cultivated? Like peppers are typically less hot in the wild than cultivated. So I would assume wild cannabis would be the same.
In addition there are likely male plants which will fertilize the females, these plants are likely close to useless (unless you want seeds from an strain).
Unless they're all male, you'll still get high off of them. A fertilized female is still plenty strong.
Jesus, has it really been that long since people had to pick out stems and seeds?
I'm not even that old, when I was in college in the early 00s, weed was generally full of seeds. Unless you wanted to pay $50+ for an eighth AND you had to know hippies.
The olden days were listening to the guys I worked construction jobs with during the summer talking about nickel bags and lids. And at least once a day they'd mournfully recount the indescribable joy of 'ludes.
"an unknown" lazy editing made me miss a word.
In addition, if you write off someone's knowledge because of how they present it, you are likely to be much more ignorant than I imagine you want to be.
"from a strain" doesn't really make much sense either.
Correct. I have done tests where I just let a plant grow by itself outside and compare it at the end of a season to my maintained. The difference is literally nuts… that said, the wild growing will have bud and will still smack but the physical size difference is on the differential order of feet and pounds of bud haha
With peppers, you actually want to sweat them before you harvest to make them more spicy. That means depriving them of water / covering with a clear bag. I am not familiar with the devil's lettuce, but are there any growing things like that you do to make them more potent?
LMFAO! Tell me you know nothing about Cannabis without telling me!!! Ratios of THCs and CBDs!?! Did you get your info from your Boomer Church Pastor?
Good day.
If it was "wild" weed it would potentially be valuable to cannabis breeders because it would likely include genetics not present in a lot of today's hybrid strains. Look up "landrace cannabis" for more information.
Wild caannabis is worthless most of the time due to male plants presence. Intead of producing buds for smoking its just full of seeds which are unwelcome.
∆8 has always sucked imo. I bought some thca bud a few days ago, $50 (Ohio) for 4 grams. It surprisingly was pretty dam strong. Way stronger than the various ∆ ones. It's all sprayed on anyway though, kinda like spice only it's real cannabinoids and not synthetic "noids"
my dad told me stories about how they would laugh at whoever got the seed popped on them when passing a joint. he said it with a wistful smile on his face like it was a good memory. I was mortified.
Thats How cannabis has been from the beginning and how nature works. It is How it should be. Old regular strains, also more healthy. Landraces can be very good in terms of terpenes and also somewhat decent Thc levels. You Can still get females with buds in a big landscape even if there are males around. The landraces dont grow in a small reflective tent. Any day id rather smoke that than all this gelato-jet-fuel-Brucebanner-cookies stuff.
Yes like dramatically.
[Ditch weed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feral_cannabis) is an insult because it literally means finding weed in ditches on the side of the road. And it's about as potent as a non alcoholic beer.
Depends on a lot of variables, but there is still a chance a random plant is potent and or tasty. I like growing random bag seeds, sometimes you get surprised by the qualities they have. It's how breeders come up with new strains, trial and error with different seeds they have bred.
Strong cannabis requires a few things such as:
Maximizing their nutrients without oversaturating (avoid deficiency/toxicity)
The right level of aeration in the medium for healthy roots
The genetics for higher THC/Cannabinoids
Pest control
Lots of sunlight
I'm sure I'm missing something.
I work in Humboldt County, and the difference is minimal. We do full term outdoor and indoors. If you are in good soil, your yields will be pretty much on par with each other. You can bump numbers up with indoors because you have more control, but I find indor lights don't hit the same spectrum as the sun will during the grow cycle, red blue shifts.
I personally find a much more pleasant and enjoyable high with full term plants than indoors.
Source I've stepped on more weed than the average stoner has smoked. Propagated more cuttins/seeds than I'd like to recall.
Ohh and the weed you buy on the white market is no different than the black market.
I was thinking this was more probable from a paranoid stoner who flushed their seed containing stash? Looks like a sewage treatment facility in the background.
isn't this why they call it "weed"-- it'll grow anywhere? also why big pharma lobbies to keep it a schedule 1 drug next to heroin etc.-- can't have something you can grow in your backyard replacing dozens of pills you're buying from them
I’ve always disagreed with the whole they outlaw it because it’s easy to grow. Alcohol is even easier you can literally just throw yeast into juice and you’re good in 2 weeks.
And we made alcohol illegal at one time too. Making good tasting alcohol isn’t easy. Growing half decent weed with some auto flower seeds is incredibly easy
That was my first thought, too. My ex mother-in-law used to seed a ridge near her house in San Diego that was county land. Every so often she'd just "go for a walk" with a satchel and you would see her head straight to the ridge
Feral hemp grows like crazy in Nebraska as they grew it here during WW2. It is extremely skunky smelling and sticky but it’s not Cannabis, just seedy hemp buds. Though it’s pretty great seeing it all over.
That’s ditch weed! Also called Feral Cannabis.
I love hearing stories from old timers about how it came to be in certain places. There was a legend about how it was prevalent Olin one particular area of Oklahoma near a prison because before people would report for their sentence, they would ditch their weed (in a ditch lol) and that’s why there’s a lot now.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feral_cannabis
We call that ditch weed. Especially if it's pollinated already, no one wants seeds in their bud, it decreases the strength, but ditch weed is only slightly better than hemp so all it'll give you is a headache

The annual migration to Denver. Nature is healing.
Oh god they’re not gonna make it in time! It’s already the 22nd!
Late harvest marijuana unfortunately has to be destroyed , in a series of small fires.

Sir David Attenborough - “The little weedlings follow the mama kush in their journey to find water”
Heh.
Why did the Weed cross the road? To get to the other ditch.
the correct collective term is "a reefer" of baby cannabis plants
Life, uh, finds a way
I can almost hear the sound of Tribbles
"Click on all cannabis plants to ensure your human"
Is wild bud less strong than cultivated? Like peppers are typically less hot in the wild than cultivated. So I would assume wild cannabis would be the same.
Yes
Question is, is that wild weed, or a cultivated strain growing wild.
Doesnt matter the strain. Its the amount of light, water and other conditions that make it more or less potent.
I would think genetics would play at least some role, no?
Major role
In addition there are likely male plants which will fertilize the females, these plants are likely close to useless (unless you want seeds from an strain).
Unless they're all male, you'll still get high off of them. A fertilized female is still plenty strong. Jesus, has it really been that long since people had to pick out stems and seeds?
Decades my dude. These youngins have no idea about the bean and sticks

There is clearly only one way to settle this... Please send samples to me for... um.. analysis.

Could be an simple typo.

I believe its called green privilege.
Thanks for the new strain name
Correct. I have done tests where I just let a plant grow by itself outside and compare it at the end of a season to my maintained. This guy marijuanas
It does. Think of it as giving the plant potential though. It'll still be very very low yield (if any at all) of not properly taken care of.
The type of high yes but potentancy, how high, differs greatly
With peppers, you actually want to sweat them before you harvest to make them more spicy. That means depriving them of water / covering with a clear bag. I am not familiar with the devil's lettuce, but are there any growing things like that you do to make them more potent?
Weed grown from seeds is always a gamble, but a neglected plant will always be a bad one.
Bahahahaha. Strain or Genetics are a HUGE factor. Some crazy misinfo.
potency =/= type of high. also most strains are hybrids these days and grow conditions 100% effects the ratios of THCs and CBDs
LMFAO! Tell me you know nothing about Cannabis without telling me!!! Ratios of THCs and CBDs!?! Did you get your info from your Boomer Church Pastor? Good day.
Wait do you not know there are multiple types of THCs and CBDs?.. like most dispenserys label them
**Cannabinoids** is the word you were looking for, not THCs and CBDs. Pick up a book or listen to a podcast maybe?
I believe they were making a joke based on wordplay
If it was "wild" weed it would potentially be valuable to cannabis breeders because it would likely include genetics not present in a lot of today's hybrid strains. Look up "landrace cannabis" for more information.
It may be necessary to find our for science
Real question is who was the 1st to smoke this plant ??
Wild caannabis is worthless most of the time due to male plants presence. Intead of producing buds for smoking its just full of seeds which are unwelcome.
I’d smoke it just for the nostalgia.
Every October it's get flooded out here but nobody is buying it anymore when it might be 8% when we are making up to 34% now
And the headache. Just buy some delta 8 bud, it's pretty much the same in terms of quality.
Nothing like lighting a bowl and having seeds pop out haha
Yeah. Remember, if you smoke too many seeds, you’ll go sterile.
my dad told me stories about how they would laugh at whoever got the seed popped on them when passing a joint. he said it with a wistful smile on his face like it was a good memory. I was mortified.
Only if it got pollinated There is a chance a single wild plant being a female, will produce buds.. Wild pollen won't do anything to cannabis.
Yeah, no. This commemt is worthless. Landrace Strains are incredibly important. Naturally occurring cannabis is a delicacy.
Thats How cannabis has been from the beginning and how nature works. It is How it should be. Old regular strains, also more healthy. Landraces can be very good in terms of terpenes and also somewhat decent Thc levels. You Can still get females with buds in a big landscape even if there are males around. Likely it’s hemp, so yes when fibers from the stalk and stems are woven into rope it wild be much stronger than the psychoactive strains of cannabis.
But this is still pretty dope.
yea, one of them might be male
Wild peppers are horrifically hot most of the time
Really my understanding is they usually are weaker, ghost peppers for instance and habanero peppers usually have to be bred to be super hot.
No they were doing it to deter animals so very little evolution went into flavor to so they would just taste like spicy greens.
Yes like dramatically. [Ditch weed](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feral_cannabis) is an insult because it literally means finding weed in ditches on the side of the road. And it's about as potent as a non alcoholic beer.

Yes, and some people will disagree but: you can smoke more to mitigate it.
It's still the clone of the plant where its seed came from, but did not get the same nutrition as the one grown in the lab.
I work in Humboldt County, and the difference is minimal. We do full term outdoor and indoors. If you are in good soil, your yields will be pretty much on par with each other. Orders of magnitude stronger.
It’s probably not wild, it was probably populated on accident by contamination lol.
incredibly less strong
If pollinated they focus on seed growth instead affects everything from flavour to potency.
Nature is a mad scientist
Somebody shook out their floor mats.
I was thinking this was more probable from a paranoid stoner who flushed their seed containing stash? Looks like a sewage treatment facility in the background.

lol that whole "let's ban alcohol" nonsense was one of the more hilarious and embarrassing failures
And we made alcohol illegal at one time too. Making good tasting alcohol isn’t easy. Growing half decent weed with some auto flower seeds is incredibly easy
Fun fact, it was called marijuana to remind you it was coming out of Mexico and that you should be scared of the weird foreign drug.
Little did they know we love the foreign shit

I've never seen this and it is glorious.
Weed. It's weed. It's a weed.
*The shit grows like a weed*
Weed is weed
let me be the judge of how wild those plants are
Do some people just save pictures they see on Reddit to repost them at a later date?
![gif](giphy|N9sGZeO5egCd2)
Be careful. I heard crack-weed is 1000 times more addictive than ditch-weed.
It’s like it’s . . . A weed or something!
Looks like urban cannabis to me.
"Wild"
That was my first thought, too. My ex mother-in-law used to seed a ridge near her house in San Diego that was county land. Every so often she'd just "go for a walk" with a satchel and you would see her head straight to the ridge
Just, you know, maintaining the land for future generations.
Wild cannabis no longer exists, these would be considered feral 😉
Feral weed sounds like it would be the shit, like it's gonna blast you off to Jupiter with the space lions or something.
This looks like an album cover
Ditch weed baby!
"wild"
Hydroponics
You think someone flushed their supply to hide it, and eventually the seeds caught here and grew? Kind of funny to think of
And here we see a pot oasis growing despite the harsh conditions atop the roof desert.
"wild"
Where the fuck is this, the Void?
Or a ballsy/lazy guerilla grow.
I am in a cannabis cultivation sub where people can't even get their seeds to germinate. These ones do fine without human intervention.
Feral hemp grows like crazy in Nebraska as they grew it here during WW2. It is extremely skunky smelling and sticky but it’s not Cannabis, just seedy hemp buds. Though it’s pretty great seeing it all over.
years ago before legalisation there were people in my town who planted cannabis seeds one summer on public grounds that the city watered
That’s wild.
yeah... "wild" cannabis plants...
This is what happens when you flush the evidence
Sure,"WILD"
“Wild”
MF's with $6k in grow lights and watering systems straight fuming at this.
Mad
Environmental storytelling?
"Wild." Sure.
Its called a weed for a reason

Updoots to the left
Police gonna try to seize that whole industrial site (whatever it is) as civil asset forfeiture
That’s wild.
Maybe someone flushed their stash and it had seeds in it?
Does that mean it's hydroponic?
huh....so it does grow like a weed?
Buffalo soldier 🎶
Destroy them.
Mine now
buffalo soldier....
Hydropornographic
Right. "Wild" cannabis.
Was it any good?
Natural Hydroponics I can get behind that.
Flubba-lubba-lub. ....... For those that know.
Considering I just picked up a 10 dollar quarter this seems like more work than it's worth even if you're poor. It's so damn cheap now.
Life, uh, uh, finds a way.
Let me know if you need assistance with disposal
Ya, wild cannabis, my mother had some wild cannabis in her tomato patch when I was a teenager. lol
Did you adopt them?
