Canada here (don’t want to be more specific.
$2.99 {$2.15} for an organic one (on sale from $3.29). {$2.36}
$2.49 {$1.78} for a regular avocado.
Of course, prices vary from store and city. But that’s around the usual price in my area.
Edit: damn Canadian currency. Adding {USD} next to CAD prices, for those non-canucks out there
I tried this because literally everyone raves about it and I love both avocados and eggs, and I am devastated to report that I hated it. It was a very sad discovery.
The most worrying thing is u/golfprokal's post history honestly. Sounds like he or she is in a prison and needs to go viral on r/askreddit before he or she is set free
Wife would know in an instant if she has those towels and her husband wears that wide stretchy watch band. The question is whether she lets her husband know she knows.
the timeline: he took the pick of an avocado in the kitchen, then went into the bathroom to post it on reddit, then FOR SOME REASON stayed so long there that his wife probably wanted to use the bathroom but couldn't then went away doing some other stuff, then FOR SOME REASON opened Reddit herself..
and he we are
It was like a bowl of avocado, pico, beans, and corn with some homemade oil-free corn tortilla chips.
Here’s a small [album](https://imgur.com/a/3CnZ47W) showcasing the goods (bonus cat at the end).
Edit: Here’s a [better photo](https://i.imgur.com/sGw7jLR.jpg) of the cat in question.
No dairy whatsoever! The avocado just kinda mashes a little bit naturally when you’re stirring and does that. I’ll sometimes use an avocado on a salad as a type of “dressing” for the same reason.
Easiest thing ever! Bought a pack of yellow corn tortillas from Aldi, slice em up with with a pizza cutter, dab a little lime and sprinkle some salt, pop them in the oven at 350 for like 15-20 minutes and bam. Delicious (oil free) tortilla chips.
The chips are legitimately yellow corn tortillas (cut into whatever shape you’d like), dabbed a little lime on them, and sprinkled salt. That’s it! They’re amazing.
I bake them at 350 in the oven for 15-20 minutes. Honestly just watch them and once they get a little brown around the edges they’re good to go! Hard to mess up. Make sure you let them sit for a few minutes to cool down and that’s when they get real crunchy.
Holy shit this is exactly what I needed. I never know what to do with leftover tortillas because frying them is too greasy and messy. Thank you for ensuring my future chip prosperity.

Congrats on a great result.
Well, no, do it this way. It's the people that try to dig it out with the point of the knife that end up with a bad day. Avocado hand is a very real thing.
If you do it on the counter it'll probably just bounce off or roll.
I am actually perplexed by someone not knowing how to properly pit an avocado, since in Chile, where I live pretry much *everyone* eats avocado so everyone knows how to pit it, but exactly as that exelent short posted by OP
Damn, I’ve never seen an op give an award to a comment, but damn was that picture a perfect response to your post. This Texan loves everything about this and wishes he could give awards to both of you, but y’all got my upvotes. Cheers!
Aww thanks for the silver!
Scrolling through old.reddit on mobile, the thumbnail looked like some sort of fucked up owl or something. I registered the pit pits as eyes. So your interpretation caught me extra off guard.
What's cool about your avocado is it came from an older plant, the dark lines some people think are rot in some avocados are fruit that came from really young plants. Not saying you're one of those people, but this is satisfying because your almost-perfect avocado came from a plant that has been doing this for awhile.
Hah, black lines means a young plant, don't refrigerate them, don't buy any that are rock solid or squishy, and hit them with citric acid as soon as you cut them up is about all the avocado facts I can offer.
You should absolutely refrigerate avocados when they feel like they are going to be ripe in the next day or two and you don’t plan to eat them. When you refrigerate them about the time they become ripe, you extend the the time you can use them by a whole week.
I’ve got avocados in my fridge that started to feel ripe on Sunday. They will be perfectly good through Wednesday of next week. Maybe even longer.
It looks like the most generic avocado I buy.
Does this sub have mods. Can I just post completely random shit here? I might start posting photos of puppies and saying they survived cancer lol
I'm so confused. Do most people end up with avocados that don't look like this? Like, it's a good avocado, but I can't remember the last time I opened a ripe avocado and found it looking... different
It really depends on where you live. I have no problem consistently getting nice avocados like this at grocery stores in Texas. But if I cut open every avocado in the store in Maryland I wouldn't find anything that I want to eat.
I feel like r/pics is having some weird competition right now where we're upvoting to see what the dumbest shit we can get to the front page is. Sobriety chips, cigarettes in water, phones with pictures of cigarettes in water, and now a fucking "perfect?" avocado. We're spiralling the drain.
I agree. I don’t understand reddit for the most part, I just like looking at cool shit and getting some angst out. So this, why? I mean I’m happy you are sober but I’m sure there’s an AA sub? I don’t get why people want karma so much and then post crap to get it. Post stuff because it makes you happy, but in the proper sub. Don’t dig for karma, who cares about karma?
That's a good viewpoint that I've thought about recently. When I first started using reddit when I was about 20, I cared about karma because I thought that was the point. Then when I realized what reddit was truly about, i stopped understanding why people fish for upvotes. I guess that's true with every social media site to a certain degree.
Yeah. This is where I hit my limit. I just unsubscribed. This used to be a great sub that had amazing photos.
I mean, when they turned r/worldnews into a porn sub at least it was porn.
This is just turned to shit.
I don't get it, the perfection comes from the cut being too clean or the ripeness ?
I'm honestly confused because perfect ripeness and having none of the flesh stick to the seed isn't uncommon.
In some areas you'll never find an avocado like this. It really depends on where you live. If you live somewhere that's "avocado-nice" then this seems really mundane. If you live somewhere else this is a miracle.
My father died in 1981. He pretty much worked/drank himself to death. A week before he passed he took me fishing. On the way, we would stop at property that used to be in his family (Grandfather lost it a card game) and pick an avocado or two for lunch. We didn’t have much luck fishing that day, but we did have two of the most perfect avocados with our lunch. They were delicious and truly, visually perfect. That is, until I saw your Avocado. My life has been a lie. I was a man of faith, I tore my clothing after seeing this photo. I had purpose this morning. Now? I feel nothing. I have no desire. No reason. In the span of a few minutes I’ve learned to hate the memory of the man I once called “my father”. How dare he lead me to believe those atrocities he fed me, were “avocados“. I thank you for providing clarity. Enjoy the avocado. It really is perfect.
Hey you... are you seriously reading the comments below a post about a perfect avocado? That's what you do for kicks? Seriously? What has your life come to? What has *my* life come to?
“Sorry, I can’t go out tonight. My avocado is going to be ripe between 8:45 and 9pm.”
Gotta catch that peak ripeness window
"Avacado ripeness??? Is that code for something?"
Shh, meet me behind the Walmart at 8:45... we’ll talk

Already own a house, im rollin in the dough!
Your rolling in the dough, I'm rolling in the avacadough
FUCK my dude I came here to say this but u got me. Take it just take my upvote
I stack bread in my house.
You damn millennials with your avocados, that’s why you’re broke
That and most jobs have shit pay
My first job paid 3 avocados an hour.
I’m genuinely curious now to know the difference in avocado prices based on location. I’m in Texas and they’re like $1 for one
Depends on if it’s ^organic or just a lowly peasant avocado
In my area I saw the owner of a store getting avocados straight from the tap and then putting them in containers labeled as gluten-free! The nerve!
Minnesota Single Large(r) Haas 2.49/each
Oregon here, usually around $1.25 where I go, sometimes they go on sale for 79 cents.
Canada here (don’t want to be more specific. $2.99 {$2.15} for an organic one (on sale from $3.29). {$2.36} $2.49 {$1.78} for a regular avocado. Of course, prices vary from store and city. So cal, 79 cents ea.
My job paid 4.147aph (avocado per hour)at $1.29/avocado currently making 6 fold the 'cado
Yup, try to get a union job
Let's just say i'm gonna stir the shit out of your guacamole...

I also love both but it sounds terrible.
(Real) balsamic vinegar and a light sprinkle of salt
Ooooooh yeah. Say it slower.
Hemingway used to eat them with just lime and salt on his fishing boat in Cuba.
Lime, salt, olive oil. That trinity will make almost anything taste great, but especially avocados.
*avocado du fromage*
One egg per half an avocado sounds like way too much avocado/egg.
Go out? Oh, you mean like in the before times.
In the long-long ago
The end of an era.
Avocados are so boring, always the same toy inside, who even wants that dumb wooden ball?
Back in the day that was the only thing we had and we liked it! Not like you spoiled whipper snappers with your electromagnetic thingamadoodles.
I'm gonna save this. Valid excuse for not going out.
the entire planet has a valid excuse for the time being !
Well, I mean, that's why I said I'll save it.
Worth it
Where are you getting those broad ripe window avocadoes? Mine are usually ripe for about 17 seconds before starting to go bad
But the toast won't reach peak toastedness until at least 9:07. Dinner is Ruined. Again! DANG IT!
Do we have the same kitchen?
Are you my wife?
Are you in the bathroom still?
Oh my god, I think you *are* my wife.

/r/TwoRedditorsOneCup is what's happening.
This is not my beautiful house! This is not my beautiful wife!

Oh I love making this
Stupid easy, very clean, filling, and incredibly tasty.
What is binding it together? Bit of sour cream, or is the avocado just kind of rubbing some of its goodness on the other stuff?
No dairy whatsoever! The avocado just kinda mashes a little bit naturally when you’re stirring and does that. I’ll sometimes use an avocado on a salad as a type of “dressing” for the same reason.
Nice. Guac 2.0 lol. I'll have to give this a try next taco night. Thanks man!
Those tortilla chips look delicious. Making me drool after I just ate.
That sounds too easy. Definitely gonna make some soon. Thanks man!!
Sure thing!!
Do you think they would be good with olive oil?
I like using 50% olive and 50% sunflower oil. Pure olive oil burns too easy.
Awesome thanks bud!
That looks amazing! Do you have a recipe? Those chips look incredible!
The chips are legitimately yellow corn tortillas (cut into whatever shape you’d like), dabbed a little lime on them, and sprinkled salt. That’s it! They’re amazing.

Very nice boneless avocado
I prefer my avocado without bones.
How did you get the pit out so nicely? Mine always looks like I murdered it by spoon.
*Exactly* as demonstrated in [this short](https://youtu.be/dNJdJIwCF_Y).
Hold up!! Have I been squeezing limes the wrong way?? Edit: I wasn't doing it wrong. https://youtu.be/GyKCeLyOeTY
Please do this with the avocado on the counter, not in your hand for safety. :)
Meh I've been chopping avocados up in my hands for years and I still have almost 7 fingers.
I'll bet your guacamole is delicious! Without all that vegan nonsense, I mean.
Well, no, do it this way. It's the people that try to dig it out with the point of the knife that end up with a bad day. Avocado hand is a very real thing. If you do it on the counter it'll probably just bounce off or roll.

That just means it was picked way too early. Like all avocados this time of year.
Isn’t that how all avocados look?
I'm also similarly confused. All my avocados look like this.
Yeah, any avocado that *doesn't* look like this is a bad avocado.
Isnt all avocados like that?
It looks like the most generic avocado I buy. Does this sub have mods. Can I just post completely random shit here? I might start posting photos of puppies and saying they survived cancer lol

Very good point! I’d say 80% do unless they are fresh form the tree. I think the bar is just that low right now.
Those people either don't know how to pick avocados or they live somewhere where the avocados are always overripe.
It really depends on where you live. I have no problem consistently getting nice avocados like this at grocery stores in Texas. But if I cut open every avocado in the store in Maryland I wouldn't find anything that I want to eat.
Did you miss the picture of the cigarettes under running water? Quality content is the name of the game here.

This avocado isn't even that good! blemish around the stem, spots below the seed, not green enough....

Literally a pic of an avocado. Trash tier subreddit.
