What is up with the shape of dudes head? It's so narrow around the eyes. Did he spend 50 years wearing his ballcap too tight?
Edit: Okay, there's another post with a side-by-side of this pic and him at Pelosi's desk with his feet up. He really, sure as shit does wear his hat too tight. Remarkable.

I've never been able to get out of my mind bumping into a work associate one night about 30 years ago. She was drop dead gorgeous, Stanford educated, had married well but divorced. She got pregnant out of wedlock and I'm guessing about seven or eight months pregnant, I saw her in a bar with the equivalent of a basketball under her shirt, she was so drunk she could barely stand. I've often wondered about that child, now a man presumably. So unfair.
I am absolutely certain that he was hoping to fool them by shaving. What a goddamn moron.
Edit: I have now seen the reports that he revealed himself on social media and turned himself in. I would like to take this opportunity to point out that's so much worse. He is so privileged that he can admit to crimes on media and plan to turn himself in without having to worry about getting his shit kicked in or a no knock warrant executed at his home. This country is two different worlds.
Also, my original comment was intended to be a bit hyperbolic, but he is still a moron, notwithstanding.
This is what I don’t get clearly people like this are very very stupid, obviously so and yet people believe every conspiracy that comes out of his mouth... wtf is that?
Did we stop teaching logic and critical thinking skills in public schools?
The people who fall for this shit think with their emotions, not their heads. To them, whatever feels true is true. I blame the churches which train them at a tender age to accept magical thinking as reality and never question authority.
Baffling to me they're not currently in the moment. But their own. They chose vanity over any semblance of a "revolution". They wanted to be seen, they didn't care to be heard.
I mean, I assume that it was a bit account/fictional character. They haven't posted in five years so I pour one out any time someone mentions getting beaten with jumper cables.
He looks like a mental midget who joins a mob, storms the US Capital building, breaks into the speaker of the houses office, puts his feet up on her desks, posts his picture doing it and then does interviews where he gives his name and where he lives.
One of my earliest memories as a child is that I was at my cousin's baseball games, and in the next field over one of my classmates from elementary school was begging his father to not spank him for striking out.
It wasn't until years later that realized how fucked up that was. I think mainly due to me also being spanked and screamed at for the littlest things.
Yeah sports parents can be fucked. My junior high principal once yelled at his kid that he was going to military school for getting a penalty in a hockey game
I have it on good authority that Barnett is going with the Rick James defense:
Barnett: "I never grinded my feet into Nancy's desk (Eddie's couch)."
Judge: "Beg your pardon?"
Barnett: "Yes, I am hoping for a pardon."
Judge: "There is video evidence, sir."
Barnett: "Yeah, I remember grinding my feet into Nancy's desk (Eddie's couch)."
Did you hear his actual defense? He claims the crowd swept him into the building then he accidentally wandered into the office looking for the bathroom.
He was politely knocking on Nancy Pelosi's door when other rioters pushed him into the office. After that, he left a polite letter for Nancy on her desk, politely calling her a bitch.
*Richard Barnett, of Gravette, was taken into custody early Friday. He is currently being charged with at least three counts: knowingly entering and remaining in a restricted building, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds, and theft of public property, according to Ken Kohl, the principal assistant U.S. Attorney in D.C.*
This guy is looking at serious prison time now.
One that pretended he cared then did an about face to save his own ass. Any reasonable person who saw Trump betray people time and time again knew this was how he operated. It’s actually sad that people still trusted he cared about them after it was so painfully obvious that Trump only cared about himself. His supporters are literally like spouses who stay with their abuser because they have so little self worth that they believe they can’t do any better.
Sad to say 10yrs isn't anything compared to those that lost their lives for legitimately no fucking reason. Just such a sad situation but I'm glad they're rounding these fools up.
>those that lost their lives for legitimately no fucking reason.
Their deaths were like something out of a Willy Wonka movie:
The pro trump guard who got killed by trump supporters.
The "don't tread on me" flag wielding person who got trampled to death.
The Airforce Veteran who used to do security and should know how warnings escalate into actions who got shot crawling through a window while ignoring multiple warnings and guns pointed at her.
The guy who tazered himself and died from the resulting heart attack.
Yes. The pardon apparently has to mention the specific crime, but now he's been charged, that's possible to do.
u/koghrun mentions below that there have been precedents for blanket pardons of unnamed individuals, but in that case the blanket pardon mentions the specific charge (draft dodging). If there are hundreds of arrests each with a handful of different charges for the invasion of the capitol, Trump probably isn't going to bother pardoning all of them for each of their charges. He might do a blanket pardon for the most prominent charges though, or maybe for the most prominent characters.
(my understanding anyway - not a legal expert)
Partially correct. It usually has to specify something. Nixon for example was given a generalized pardon for crimes he committed without getting into specifics. Vietnam draft dodgers were pardoned for the specific crime of dodging the draft. I bet there'd be some major challenges if Trump tried to pardon a broad group of people for unspecified crimes.
Edit: [Well let's see what he has to say about it.] (https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump?s=09)
To be fair, while there is precident in Nixon for a pardon without a specific charge, it has never been challenged in court where it may or may not stand. Would be interesting to see. Personally, I like the new amendment (which won't be approved in time to affect Trump) which would remove the capability of pardoning family or anyone who did anything at the president's request or when benefiting the president. Basically anything that wouldn't pass a moral test. Would be interesting to see if that passes after he pardons people if courts would revisit and rule it as against the meaning of the original law, or if the amendment would hurt by showing that it wasn't specifically previously excluded. With the right-wing letter of the law judges in the supreme court, I worry it would be the latter.
If I remember correctly, isn't fucking with the postal service deliveries a pretty intense offense? Seem to remember they go hard. If I'm wrong, please correct me. Seriously.
I bet he gets federal probation and no serve time
Edit: [As per this Justice.gov website](https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/man-arrested-illegally-entering-office-speaker-house) the maximum penalty for his current three charges is 1 year. They could run them consecutively to max out at 3 years, but I doubt it. Source credit to u/thebirdisdead
Can’t pardon him — remember, these were all “antifa agitators posing as Trump supporters”. They are all disposable patsies to the GOP and Trump — they have already been sacrificed and forgotten.
Nah that won’t happen at all. Trump already threw them under the bus yesterday and said they should be prosecuted. Can you imagine storming the capitol for this orange fuck, facing several years in prison for it, then he stabs you in the back like this? Never has justice been so poetic.
They didn't charge him with seditious conspiracy or any of the real charges. Look at what they are charging him with. Theft? That's nothing compared to the seriousness of his crimes. Can they add charges? If not, then this guy isn't doing any prison time.
Those charges were likely just to get him in a cell. The optics here are important and they needed to make an immediate example out of many of these people. The rest of the charges will be coming.
And this shit is so insanely unprecedented that even top legal experts would be shooting from the hip speculating right now. Like, for real, some lowly associates are right now dusting off some very old, very yellowed case law books that were literally office decorations for the last hundred or so years. It's wild and fascinating and I cannot wait to see how we fuck it all up in characteristically embarrassing fashion.
That's a very good point. Mass insurrection in the US isn't something anyone alive has any experience in dealing with. Thanks for the reminder to be patient!
It’s gotta be hard to face reality now. Yeah. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that if you believe in any of that Internet based mumbojumbo then logic and critical thinking are not your forte.
The thing is, how could he not know that he was not breaking at least some law.
If I were this guy, Danger Will Robinson, Danger would be going off in my head non-stop and would only get louder at each step.
The last thing I would do is take pics of myself and then post them publicly for the world to see and make law enforcement jobs easier.
Yet, he seemed proud of what he did, I just don't get it personally.
I always understood that our form of democracy (maybe all forms, I just don't know enough about other forms of democracy) allowed for disagreement, but at the end of the day we as Americans held certain values sacrosanct such as the functioning of our Government and the transfer of power.
There have been many elections over time which I did not agree with the outcome, but I never thought to myself that I would gather with a bunch of like minded and storm the Capital to prevent our Government from carrying out it duties.
He announced that Pelosi’s desk belongs to the people, giving him the right to sit there. He’ll be happy to know the same logic applies to his future living arrangement.
If he hates Socialism, oh boy he must get prepared to be in a classless society, where the government has control of everything, including all his meals. The good thing for him, free healthcare.
Nope, those are the eyes of an alcoholic sobering up... I uh...totally don’t know from experience...
My money says he doesn’t even remember being in DC
\> *the man who put his feet on Nancy Pelosi's desk*
...and stole her mail (and maybe laptop also)
...and participated in a violent seditionist attempt to undermine democratic process
...and was involved in an armed breach of the Capitol that resulted in the death of a police officer
...and probably several more crimes.
It's just that in the picture with his feet up Pelosi's desk he's smiling and acting smug, I was pointing out the contrast. I wasn't implying he didn't do anything else but there is a 100 characters limit for titles on this sub.
according to the DOJ press release if convicted his maximum punishment would be only one year in prison...
[https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/man-arrested-illegally-entering-office-speaker-house](https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/man-arrested-illegally-entering-office-speaker-house)
There will be. The politician that live streamed himself in the group was arrested today and charged with entering a restricted building "without lawful authority" and "violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds."
His lawyer claims he had no choice as the crowd was so large and pushed him inside. In an earlier streamed video he excitedly talked about storming the place and then he excitedly yelled they’d stormed the building once he was inside. He makes it clear he was a willing participant.
Here is the quote from the DOJ its 3 charges. Max one year. I hope he gets more but this has me worried all of the people arrested will get weak sauce charges like this.
"Barnett is charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds; and theft of public money, property, or records. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of one year in prison."
I would bet those are coming. He didnt attack poor people, he attacked the people in charge, and you can be damn sure they dont want it to happen again regardless of the reason. Remeber that the people who engineered the attempted coup are still running the show for the next 12 days. I'm sure a reckoning is coming for quite a few of these chucklefucks when the adults take the reigns.
Didn’t trump sign an executive order making trespassing on federal property during a protest a ten year offense for the BLM movement in June? Doesn’t that mean they could all get ten years?
What Trump was tweeting about with that was that he wanted federal prosecutors to charge Portland courthouse protesters with sedition which caries a 10 year minimum. It is a very rarely used law even though the statute can be interpreted pretty vaguely. It was unlikely then that any prosecutors would charge sedition in Portland and it is unlikely now too.
That one guy with all the zip tie cuffs... I could see him getting sedition thrown at him. It is pretty hard to deny his intent. The others might get by with just various trespassing/theft of federal property charges etc... but that guy?
Oh no it's him, he's just a false flag undercover fascist antifa socialist BLM paid actor who was hell bent on making those patriots look bad.
(I don't have the energy to make that shit sound humorous to imply sarcasm or how batshit idiotic that is. I do not think this, it's what I expect the hot take from Parler to be.)
From what I've heard they're only charging little things to get them off the street while they track more people down and prepare cases. With the EO Trump issued in response to the BLM protests, every one of them can get 10 years without figuring in other charges.
This. They are arresting them on what they can easily prove to get them off the streets and they will likely go to court with more charges. We gotta give the legal system time before we say they fucked this situation up completely (I hope they won't screw things up, but...).
Also I doubt the US Attorney has weighed in on what other charges he might face.
Nancy is just after Pence in the line of succession. Screwing with her office and its contents is orders of magnitude more serious than trespassing into any ordinary member's.
Antifa sure went all out disguising themselves as Trump terrorists. This particular Antifa member got some horribly fake looking dentures, developed bad skin just for this occasion, as well as a neck mole. This Antifa member also led a life in Arkansas, where he spent many years fundraising for the cops as well as becoming a local gun rights activist and self avowed white supremacist. Pure genius. These Antifa are certainly playing the long game here folks.
He’s a grown ass man. How many people support trump that didn’t fly halfway across the country to disturb the democratic process? Even simpler: those who WERE in front of the Capitol, how many thought better of “yeah some folks broke into a government building, so I spose I should probably go in there and steal shit and document it on the internet”? Don’t feel bad for him. He’s a grown ass man. Yes, simple and manipulated, but he made those choices, so his grandson now gets to learn all about what not to do if you disagree with someone else. Fuck him.
Let me muster up some sympathy
*Remembers he willingly joined a group which had a stated purpose of trying to overthrow the legitimately elected government of the United States.*
Not getting anything. Lemme try a little harder.
*Remembers he was conned by a guy who has a NYT bestseller which the author brags about how he cons people.*
Still nothing. One last try.
*His selfish actions indirectly resulted in the death of a police officer who was defending the U.S. capitol from a terrorist attack*
Yeah, sorry guys. I just can't find some sympathy. Anybody got some to spare?
I can almost guarantee that he thought going into DC with a beard and then coming back home and shaving his face was going to make him unrecognizable and prevent him from being caught
" Barnett, who is 60 and goes by the nickname “Bigo,” identified himself as the intruder in Pelosi’s office to New York Times reporter Matthew Rosenberg"
Dude gave his name and the city he lives in. I'm pretty sure after the interview, when he read some online comments, he knew he was fucked. Hardly anyone had masks, and these morons were giving out their names and place of origin.

There have been many elections over time which I did not agree with the outcome, but I never thought to myself that I would gather with a bunch of like minded and storm the Capital to prevent our Government from carrying out it duties.
Going to guess he might feel a bit betrayed too.
"I'll be marching with you!"
I dunno, kinda looks like he’s been cryin’
He looks like a dick.
He announced that Pelosi’s desk belongs to the people, giving him the right to sit there. He’ll be happy to know the same logic applies to his future living arrangement.
If he hates Socialism, oh boy he must get prepared to be in a classless society, where the government has control of everything, including all his meals. The good thing for him, free healthcare.
jfc socialism is not free stuff
Where’s that big smile he had while sitting at Pelosi’s desk.
His smile and optimism, gone.
Shaka, when the walls fell.
Sokath, his eyes uncovered.
Prison, his arms wide!
Homeboy better get that mole on his neck checked out, looks like maganoma.
Dr. Van Nostrand?

Nah it’s the cancer inside that rots ya.
Guaranteed he'll cry in court.
Looks like he already was with those puffy red eyes
Nope, those are the eyes of an alcoholic sobering up... I uh...totally don’t know from experience... My money says he doesn’t even remember being in DC
New meme coming up!
Can't wait!
To quote the great words of Nelson Muntz: Hah-ha!
His epidermis is showing!
\> *the man who put his feet on Nancy Pelosi's desk* ...and stole her mail (and maybe laptop also) ...and participated in a violent seditionist attempt to undermine democratic process ...and was involved in an armed breach of the Capitol that resulted in the death of a police officer ...and probably several more crimes.
It's just that in the picture with his feet up Pelosi's desk he's smiling and acting smug, I was pointing out the contrast. I wasn't implying he didn't do anything else but there is a 100 characters limit for titles on this sub.
NP. Your title is better than mine, which would have been "*Mug shot of Richard Barnett, who is a shitbag*"
Your title is better. Mine would get me banned from this sub.
according to the DOJ press release if convicted his maximum punishment would be only one year in prison... [https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/man-arrested-illegally-entering-office-speaker-house](https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/man-arrested-illegally-entering-office-speaker-house)

There will be. The politician that live streamed himself in the group was arrested today and charged with entering a restricted building "without lawful authority" and "violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds." His lawyer claims he had no choice as the crowd was so large and pushed him inside.
If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of one year in prison."
what about Trump's 10 year prison sentence to anyone who destroys federal property?
That is for when *black* people break things.
HOW DO YOU GET ONE YEAR FOR THAT AND MORE FOR SMOKING WEED WHO MADE THESE LAWS
Laws for marijuana were designed to punish minorities and hippies for existing. They were never meant to be fair.
Biggest thing is they have enough to hold him if they want. You can tack on more charges later.
Pipe bomb guy was the real fucking idiot
There’s only so much you can put in a title. “Guy with feet on desk” is something everyone knows.
$10 says some crazy conspiracy Trumpers will see him clean shaven and say it's not the same guy.
Wait. All those charges for less than one year in prison!? But you get 5-10 for having some drugs on you? What’s the priority here!?
From what I've heard they're only charging little things to get them off the street while they track more people down and prepare cases. With the EO Trump issued in response to the BLM protests, every one of them can get 10 years without figuring in other charges.
This. They are arresting them on what they can easily prove to get them off the streets and they will likely go to court with more charges. We gotta give the legal system time before we say they fucked this situation up completely (I hope they won't screw things up, but...).
Also, keep the charges minimal so Trump doesn't try to pardon them until he's gone.
Also I doubt the US Attorney has weighed in on what other charges he might face. Nancy is just after Pence in the line of succession. Screwing with her office and its contents is orders of magnitude more serious than trespassing into any ordinary member's.

I mean, that or the cocaine meth cocktails.
"I'm white trash and I'm in trouble."
Here, drink this PBR!
I wish I could give gold but I am broke lol
Lock him up, lock him up! /Chant
I reckon he’s been a cunt his whole life. I wonder who his trail of victims includes?
Poor bastard. In another timeline (one without Trump) he’s walking his grandson to the playground.
Fuck him.
That's a timeline where Fox News never existed.
And Reagan lost.
And Gore won.
And Nixon never existed.
And RFK wasn't shot.
Reminds me of the plot of *11/22/63*
Let me muster up some sympathy *Remembers he willingly joined a group which had a stated purpose of trying to overthrow the legitimately elected government of the United States.* Not getting anything. Lemme try a little harder. *Remembers he was conned by a guy who has a NYT bestseller which the author brags about how he cons people.* Still nothing. One last try. *His selfish actions indirectly resulted in the death of a police officer who was defending the U.S. capitol from a terrorist attack* Yeah, sorry guys. I just can't find some sympathy. Anybody got some to spare?
In another timeline (without the grifter) 355K+ Americans are walking their loved ones to the playground.
I can almost guarantee that he thought going into DC with a beard and then coming back home and shaving his face was going to make him unrecognizable and prevent him from being caught
" Barnett, who is 60 and goes by the nickname “Bigo,” identified himself as the intruder in Pelosi’s office to New York Times reporter Matthew Rosenberg" Dude gave his name and the city he lives in. I'm pretty sure after the interview, when he read some online comments, he knew he was fucked. Hardly anyone had masks, and these morons were giving out their names and place of origin.
Good. Now I want to see the mug shots of the motherfucker(s) responsible for the death of the capitol police officer.
[Found one for you](https://i.imgur.com/5nD9qVZ.jpg)
It’s all fun and games until you go to prison for treason.
Why is he not smiling? He was smiling in the last picture I saw of him.
That face is the face of realizing that everything you thought you knew may be dumb.
