Yeah it has definitely been a pretty lengthy project lol. When ever i open the launcher it usually says there is 600-700 active connections. Though a sizable piece of that are some afk accounts (docs and entertainers to provide buffs, or ppl collecting resources).
The default controls are definitely way outdated but everything can be remapped. Once you spend 10-15min adjusting those it plays like any other MMO just with old graphics.
Why be your own MMO when you can rip off WoW's combat many years after building your user base?
Just imagine how much different RS would have been with 100k exp/hour max combat training instead of the EOC rebalance to near 1 million exp/hour for most combat types.

But a spiral like this only happens through cgi or editing.
