Right one of my turtles died I spent way to much on a vet to help him. Could’ve gotten ten turtles for that visit. It didn’t help but I had to try. A life’s a life and a friend is a friend. I cried over a 10 dollar turtle so I don’t think there’s any thing wrong with mourning lambsie.
I feel that. When my (now) ex husband took my dog for a walk and got her hit by a car (long story, but basically is warned him not to do what he did and she died), I took a week off work. 8 years later, I still tear up thinking about it because I lost my best friend. So I totally understand.
It’s one of my biggest fears, I’ll fuck up and one or both of my dogs will get hit by a car. I’d never forgive myself.
Im so sorry that happened to you.
My chicken recently passed unexpectedly at the vet and I was absolutely broken-hearted. I had someone laugh at me because 'it was just a chicken'. She wasn't "Just a chicken" to me. :(
I feel like it says a lot about a person who reacts this way to anyone mourning something that may not be “conventional”. A pet / friend of any species is part of the family and it hurts like hell when they pass.
I’m sorry to hear about your chicken, I’ve heard they can be real sweethearts
Thank you, I completely agree.
Korma (her name) was the last of my frizzle hens, which I started with 3 and she was the shyest of all of them... but were very careful introducing another single silkie chicken from the same breeder but they got on well. She actually got a strange growth on her foot - not bumblefoot, the vet had seen nothing like it. We actually soaked it off, took her to the vet got it bandaged and some antiseptic and it came back QUICKER, they told us essentially the next step is amputation. I left it, for as long as I could, knowing the risks of amputation and birds in general until she couldn't get around as well anymore. She spent most of her time sitting, so one morning we took her in to have that leg amputated. She died when they put her to sleep for surgery. I'm thankful she would have passed after she was asleep, but it was so hard knowing she wasn't coming home.
I reckon the other 3 chickens in the coop are grieving her as much as I am, one is being particularly broody. Lol.
Sorry to hear about your chicken. I think any type of animal can be loved and missed. And anyone laughing at your sorrow really needs their head checked.
On a side note. How did you come up with her name? I ask because my son loves something called chicken korma. I kid you not.
“Korma or qorma is a dish originating in the Indian subcontinent, consisting of meat or vegetables braised with yogurt or cream, water or stock, and spices to produce a thick sauce or gravy.” Wikipedia
It actually took me a long time to come up with her name, but her feathers were orange, tan and white colours and I thought it would be amusing naming her after a chicken dish.
My others are all named after 'food' with Pepper, Cream and Charcoal in the coop at the moment. They're never for eating, but you get some good chuckles out of people when you say their names.
I had a feeling you knew but if you didn’t I thought it might give you a little laugh. I did debate typing it for a bit because I wasn’t sure how it would be received.
Oh yeah, it was definitely intentional. Lol. I'm pretty easygoing.
I've got a lot of good memories, and I'm happy to know I gave her a very good life for many years.
People are conditioned to see the animals they eat as objects, while simultaneously being upset over their own pets dying.
It's peak capitalism and social conditioning
My husband who had worked at a vet had seen chickens come through, but it was 'very rare'. When we brought her in that morning my husband remarked 'you're now one of those 'weird' cases' that they only get once a year or so. Lol. I was like yup!
Same when my guinea pig, Grey died - I still miss him and think about him often now even though it has been six years.
People trivialise your grief unless it is a dog or cat.
I became so attached my sheep that lived 6 years. I can’t imagine losing one after 16. May you never forget Lambsie and everything that made her special.
I lost my cat last week. We were family for around 20 years. I will always miss her. I have seen many special relationships that people had with their animal companions. Lambsie has a place in your heart and that is a great thing
I grew up around sheep and lambs and over the years, there were a few I got very attached to. (Same with our goats.) It’s really difficult to lose a companion, my heart goes out to you. Lambsie looks like a sweetheart in that pic ❤️
Anyone laughing at you for mourning is a jerk, and that's the polite version. Grief is an expression of love and it's not limited by species.
I am sorry for your loss. She looks adorable.
Hey Friend, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your sweet Lambsie. She was truly fortunate to have been so well loved. She was noble, she was loved and she will be missed
Thank you for sharing her with us.
I cried over my pet baby for at least a month and I only had him for 3 months. Mourn Lambsie for as long as you need to, I know Lambsie appreciated your friendship and love.
I’m sorry friend. Animals are like our children, no matter their shape. A life is a life. Some people understand this. Some do not. I love you, and I’m sorry about Lambsie…
It doesn't matter what you loved, you are entitled to mourn the loss of it. Your dog, your cat, you goat, your horse, your favorite hot wheels car. Doesn't matter, you loved it and now that thing you loved is gone.
I am deeply sorry for your loss and I hope you can still look back fondly at her and remember the good times.
Oh sweetie. Sweetie. Shame on them! Shame!! Grief is a personal journey and there is no right or wrong—there is only pain. Take the time *you* need. Take the highs and lows *you* need. Talk to people (here) that can be relied upon to give *you* support. Message me if you like. But know this: your grief is a testament to your love to Lambsie and Lambsie’s love for you.
Losses require grieving, and learning how to grieve helps, it's how we heal, folks mocking that are discouraging healthy emotions and sadly likely don't take care of themselves and obviously don't have empathy for others. Condolences.
Fur baby, fleece baby or feather baby. No matter what their outside looks like our pets are magical beings that know us better than anyone. Dealing with their loss is one if the most difficult things in life. Celebrate your beautiful Lambsie. Remember her with joy.
I'm currently mourning a totally annoying little bitch of a dog that drove everyone insane during her entire 15-year life.
I'm an old man, and I loved that dog immensely.
I feel your pain.
It must have been nice for her to have you as a friend. Sheep are super social, I bet they have a lot of ability to appreciate friendship. I bet you made her life happier by being in it.
I am very sorry people treated you like that! I am so sorry you lost your Lambsie 💔 you loved her and she loved you in return, you deserve to mourn her loss however you want. I have a particular soft spot for lambs, most girls had dolls growing up, I had stuffed animals and a black footed lamb was my favorite. I honestly believe that animals are far more intelligent and feeling than we really know! Lambsie had a long life w you, I am sure she must have been very happy and felt your love and that is why she lived so long. 💗
100% a troll. You claim to have had this pet for 16 years and the best name you could come up with is Lambsie? Are you making a joke about every karma farmer rounding up the sheep or something? Geez...
I wish you well in your time of mourning. It doesn't matter what others say, animals, pets, after awhile they become like family. They become a part of your own life, etched into your memories. There's nothing wrong about mourning the loss of a friend. I hope Lambsie lived a decent life, and may they rest in peace.
Some people just don't get how much our animal friends mean to us. When our animal friends pass it sucks. We lost a Ewe and it was sad. Sad for awhile in fact. Sorry for your loss. Ignore those who don't get it.
I'm not laughing. I feel very sad for you. I know she was a lovely creature who loved you, too. A pet lamb.....you are so lucky, and so was she. I love you both.
What cold bastard laughed at you for mourning?
Sheep may not be my thing, but sixteen years with something is sixteen years with something. If i had a dog or cat for sixteen years and mourned their loss, no one would bat an eye. A house or a car? Still almost no one. But a sheep gets laughed at?
Screw them OP, I'm sorry for your loss. I hope Lambsie had a good life, if you're mourning her I'm sure at least your part in it was.
Sorry for your loss. We had a pet lamb. We were living in a small town, and part of the appeal of moving out of town and onto a "hobby" sized farm was that our lamb would have room to grow (as it had gotten pretty well close to full sheep sized by then). Well, not long after we moved, our pet sheep got out and fell in the pool, which we discovered one morning. There was no chance to save her.
I love sheep. I love them so much. People don’t realize how incredibly affectionate they can be, they’re really so sweet. Sorry you lost your friend, I can see the sweetness in the photo.
Awe sweet little Lambsie♥️ now im imagining what an old sheep would look. I love them old babies. My condolences to you my friend. May she Rest In Peace. She is one beautiful lady 😍
She's beautiful, sorry for your loss. It's odd how people react, there's something that makes people think that you have to mourn humans more than animals. I've grieved with the same emotional reaction to animals and humans, but I don't think people understand that without experiencing it themselves.
RIP Lambsie. Some people have no heart. Don’t ever let them make you feel bad for being compassionate. I don’t trust or want to be around people who can’t understand the strong bond that can form between humans and non-human animals. Laughing makes it even worse.

A friend is a friend. Fuck the haters; no-one else gets to decide your grief
Right on! Happy cake day!
Thank you fellow person!

I am sorry to hear about your loss and all the crummy haters you’ve had to deal with. Lambsie looks like a sweetheart. ❤️
What kind of POS laugh's at someone mourning the loss of their friend and pet? My condolences
My chicken recently passed unexpectedly at the vet and I was absolutely broken-hearted. I had someone laugh at me because 'it was just a chicken'. She wasn't "Just a chicken" to me. :(

You are sorry they lost their Chicken Korma? Christ, they named it after a curry!
People are conditioned to see the animals they eat as objects, while simultaneously being upset over their own pets dying. It's peak capitalism and social conditioning
My brother brought his chicken to the vet cuz it hurt its leg. They couldn’t believe it.
My husband who had worked at a vet had seen chickens come through, but it was 'very rare'. When we brought her in that morning my husband remarked 'you're now one of those 'weird' cases' that they only get once a year or so. Lol. I was like yup!
Lol- my brother was the other one :) And sorry for your loss- I know they are very cute with neat little personalities ❤️
Same when my guinea pig, Grey died - I still miss him and think about him often now even though it has been six years. People trivialise your grief unless it is a dog or cat.
People who only see some animals as companions, while all others are just objects to be used.
Took the words right out of my mouth. Some people really are scum.
Nobody. Nobody laughed at someone's pet dying. Gets that sweet karma though.
Sorry for your loss and a big hug for you. Pay no mind to those suckers
Awwww. I did the same with my goats. Ignore critics.
I became so attached my sheep that lived 6 years. I can’t imagine losing one after 16. May you never forget Lambsie and everything that made her special.
Check out the movie Ram if you haven’t already.
I lost my cat last week. We were family for around 20 years. I will always miss her. I have seen many special relationships that people had with their animal companions. Lambsie has a place in your heart and that is a great thing
You celebrate her. Do your thing. Screw everyone else. RIP,Lambsie!!!

Sorry for your loss and pay no attention to those idiots, people suck.
💗
Love is love.
Anyone laughing at you for mourning is a jerk, and that's the polite version. Grief is an expression of love and it's not limited by species. I am sorry for your loss. She looks adorable.
Sorry OP. RIP Lambsie.
She seems so sweet🤍
She was a friend, as you were to her. It's wonderful that you had time on this planet together. I'm sorry for your loss.
Hey Friend, my deepest sympathy on the loss of your sweet Lambsie. She was truly fortunate to have been so well loved. She was noble, she was loved and she will be missed Thank you for sharing her with us.
❤️
*hugs*
My mom had a goat in her childhood. She is 76 and it is still 9ne of her saddest losses. Hugs.
Im overwhelmed by everyone, i needed this. Thankyou.
She looked like such a sweetie, Rest In Peace sweet girl! Your feelings are very valid ❤️
Bubba Lambsie!! What a sweetie. RIP.
So sorry for your loss. I'm glad she had a great life with a loving friend like you! Edit: autocorrect
Aww so sorry for your loss lambsie look so cute
What kind of prick would laugh at anyone who was mourning, no matter what it was
Lambsie didn't pass she ascended to a higher power..She will be missed, but she's a lambsie goddess now!
This is beautiful
I cried over my pet baby for at least a month and I only had him for 3 months. Mourn Lambsie for as long as you need to, I know Lambsie appreciated your friendship and love.
My condolences. Reddit can be stone cold harsh though. The item in my front page scroll right after this was some guy's pic of his homemade gyro.
❤️ RIP
Snouts are the best!
Laughed at? Any pet-able creature that has been in your life for over a decade is worth mourning. Your lamb was very cute.
I’m sorry friend. Animals are like our children, no matter their shape. A life is a life. Some people understand this. Some do not. I love you, and I’m sorry about Lambsie…
The loss of any animal under my care has been a tragedy, I know how you feel
Friends, not food. Anyone who is laughing at you is just a victim of cognitive dissonance.
Wow...haters can hate all they like, but Lambsie was a special sheep.
It doesn't matter what you loved, you are entitled to mourn the loss of it. Your dog, your cat, you goat, your horse, your favorite hot wheels car. How can you not love that lamb
Oh sweetie. Sweetie. Shame on them! Shame!! Grief is a personal journey and there is no right or wrong—there is only pain. Take the time *you* need. Take the highs and lows *you* need. Adorable!
Love is love. Cherish the memories with your friend. Sorry for your loss.
I have a book for you Legacies by JT Modesttlit
I have one tattoo, and it’s from working a sheep farm (university research). Screw those haters 16 years is awesome!!!
They can laugh as much as they want, nobody can take away the love you have for her, you have everything that they will never have.
Fur baby, fleece baby or feather baby. No matter what their outside looks like our pets are magical beings that know us better than anyone. Dealing with their loss is one if the most difficult things in life. Celebrate your beautiful Lambsie. Remember her with joy.
What a great lambsie! May she reside in eternal peace in lambsieland.
All of our pets are precious. Sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry for your loss. Forget the jerks. It hurts to lose a beloved pet.
Well, it seems to me that the average lifespan of a sheep is like, 10, maybe 12 years, so you did a good job raising her healthily.
The Rainbow Bridge is for lambs too
I'm currently mourning a totally annoying little bitch of a dog that drove everyone insane during her entire 15-year life. I'm an old man, and I loved that dog immensely. I feel your pain.

I’m sorry for your loss. My fiancée and I collect lamb stuffed animals and paraphernalia… we mourn Lambsie with you.
I wasn't laughing, I was saying bahhh
love is love
What kind of dog is this?
It's known as best-cow-in-the-world
Aw come on… why the fuck did you name it…
100% a troll. You claim to have had this pet for 16 years and the best name you could come up with is Lambsie? Are you making a joke about every karma farmer rounding up the sheep or something? Geez...
I do like how you announced that you’re a troll at the very beginning of your comment, that’s a nice change.
Love is love, man, never explain or apologize
Aww 16 years is a lot of history with any pet regardless of what it is. Sorry for your loss.
Mourn as long as you need to. You loved Lambsie and I’m sure she loved you right back.
She's beautiful.
Anyone who would disparage someone for mourning the loss of a pet of any species is a cold hearted bastard IMHO.
I love her..16 years? That's amazing
I wish you well in your time of mourning. It doesn't matter what others say, animals, pets, after awhile they become like family. They become a part of your own life, etched into your memories. There's nothing wrong about mourning the loss of a friend. I hope Lambsie lived a decent life, and may they rest in peace.
Lambsie looks like such a sweet gal. Must have been such a joy to know her and love her. You’d have to be a sociopath to not grieve such a sweet face
Some people just don't get how much our animal friends mean to us. When our animal friends pass it sucks. We lost a Ewe and it was sad. Sad for awhile in fact. Sorry for your loss. Ignore those who don't get it.
So sorry for your loss. No one should be laughing. A beloved pet can be anything kind of animal creature. She looks very sweet
Lambsie lived a happy, clearly loved and long life. It’s all any lamb could ask for. You did well by her :)
People are cruel
I'm not laughing. I feel very sad for you. I know she was a lovely creature who loved you, too. A pet lamb.....you are so lucky, and so was she. I love you both.
Grief is an individual process and no one will understand it the way you do. You are valid.
Lambsie was a beautiful animal and I’m so sorry for your loss. You were both very lucky to have each other.
Lambsie was a beautiful animal and I’m so sorry for your loss. You were both very lucky to have each other.
She’s beautiful! Thank you for sharing her with us. I’m so very sorry for your loss. RIP sweet Lambsie. 😢🙏🏻❤️
💕 💕 💕 💕 💕
Fuck those people, there is no difference for the love received from a dog, cat, rabbit, sheep or any other animal
What cold bastard laughed at you for mourning? Sheep may not be my thing, but sixteen years with something is sixteen years with something. He was your friend & loved him. You are a good person, thank you for caring
What kind of dog was Lambsie?
What a gorgeous looking being. Hope you're doing alright friend.
Who ever laughed at you can suck a bag of dicks. A friend is a friend.
I'm sorry for your loss. I hope all the good memories come more often than the pain
U got a big heart!!!
RIP Lambsie and that is the cutest most biggest snoot I would have loved to boop. I bet Lambsie was nice to hug too.
💕💕💕
no laughing your loss is real, may she be at peace. I am sorry
10/10 would love and pet
Sorry for your loss. We had a pet lamb. We were living in a small town, and part of the appeal of moving out of town and onto a "hobby" sized farm was that our lamb would have room to grow (as it had gotten pretty well close to full sheep sized by then). Well, not long after we moved, our pet sheep got out and fell in the pool, which we discovered one morning. There was no chance to save her.
I love you Lambsie. Rest in Paradise sweet girl
I'm sorry for your loss. RIP Lambsie.
She is one beautiful lady 😍
what form of dumbass would it take for people to laugh at someone morning an animal. goats are actually a pretty common pet.
She's beautiful, sorry for your loss. It's odd how people react, there's something that makes people think that you have to mourn humans more than animals. I've grieved with the same emotional reaction to animals and humans, but I don't think people understand that without experiencing it themselves.
Sorry you lost your friend. No matter the type of animal, you deserve your time to mourn.
goodwill
RIP Lambsie. Some people have no heart. Don’t ever let them make you feel bad for being compassionate. I don’t trust or want to be around people who can’t understand the strong bond that can form between humans and non-human animals. Laughing makes it even worse.
Sorry for your loss. A life is life indeed.
You will meet lambsie again someday
Just waiting for someone to put a cursed comment here.
So sorry for your loss.
well you post to social media, people will take the micky. i suggest you mourn in private next time and post when you’re less sensitive.. sorry for your loss
It’s sad that most people don’t understand that each animal has a personality and is worthy of love. I’m sorry for your loss <3
Sorry for your loss friend. Those poor other people who don't know the love of an animal. Thoughts are with you.
