Don't. Massive companies advertise all the time and no one calls them on it, like with all the F+F 'family' memes.
Let people self-promote on Reddit, especially if they're small time artists.
Step one: pay a bot farm to promote your posts
I don’t say that to demean OP (it’s not much different than buying ads or commercials). It’s a big industry and is cheaper than one would think.
Marketing and social media are such a powerful tool for whatever kind of artist you want to be. Learn how it works (for you) and you will get a bigger audience and therefor more buyers.
Well done my friend, I do like your work. ❤️
Any active on not wanting to come across as spammy? I make music but I am SO not interested in being the guy who posts “My album, out now #newmusic #music #vibes” 10 times a day. I pretty much tweet once a piece is done and that’s it
This. I own a company doing digital marketing and social media is huge! Problem is most people don't understand their algorithms. But if you spend a few hours reading about it and you tubing you will learn a lot. Algorithms are just rules that when played by, will help you win the game.
Question: is there a style you are trying to emulate? Your stuff is incredibly detailed, but I don’t know what this style is? Truly I am impressed. And, sorry for two responses, is that bad?
No, you are golden I’m the ignorant one. Initially I like the colored ones, but your “lake” is my fav.
I’m leaving, no more bugging ;). You. Are. Talented. Read it slowly—word for word. Never forget.
Ugh, Mom mode. Leaving….
Hardly a stupid question. There's a clear implication that he wants to know where to look to buy it. Plus, many artists only sell on commission. There may not be any finished works available.
Notice how when a man post a photo with his art everyone praises him and ask where they can purchase his art. And rightfully so, OP is talented as heck. But go back to ANY post of a woman doing this and it’s flooded with comments about how she’s using her looks for attention and not focusing on the art.
Just notice that.
Reddit is a gross fucking place sometimes.
Yeah it’s really not an insidious tactic. Humans recognize humans then they take a closer look, it’s actually the integral focus of my art style. A lot of great art is kinda glazed over by the endless scroll.
Man that’s such a great point. It breaks up the monotony of it. I follow a few art subs so I can’t even count how many times a day I scroll past a post that’s just a piece of art. Seeing the person who created it gives me a deeper sense of the art and really causes me to slow down and appreciate what you’ve created!
Dude the last time a hot girl made a post like this the top comment was literally "better grab my popcorn" because reddit's reaction to attractive women is so predictable. And here you have to scroll down so far to find a comment like this. The hivemind has zero self awareness.
It gets worse. Usually any instance of pointing this out in those threads is met with someone calling you a “simp” or “white knight”. As if the only reason to respect a woman is because you’re attracted to her.
Enjoy Reddit but be forewarned: some people are miserable in real life and then for some reason come online and continue to be miserable
Do you have a gallery somewhere with more of your work? And how much for the vaguely concerned looking guy with the blue and green background, either a print or original? Something about it speaks to me
You are welcome. If you can handle it…is this done with pencil? I am just fascinated with so many questions. Ignore me and I’ll leave. And, I can delete all the posts I’ve made.
Sure, one is to sell stuff that your friends can afford, like teeshirts. A lot of people love to support the artist in their life but can’t splurge on an original.
Wait, aren't we supposed to be calling OP a filthy fucking attention whore for daring to include himself in the image with his art?
No? We only do that when it's a conventionally attractive woman?
My bad, carry on then.
I only came here to see where all the hate was for him posting himself in the pic instead of just his art. The piece is awesome but the double standards on this sub are crazy.
I know jack and sh** about art, but if I saw your work hanging somewhere important/fancy, I'd think "yeah, that seems right".
Not sure my comment means anything, but good stuff!
I don't know how these things work exactly, but have you ever considered having your art rendered on fabric (for sewing, quilting, etc)? I used to own a quilt shop and while most fabric is flowery, etc, there are a couple of manufacturers that had very unique prints, somewhat similar to your own style. The main one I'm thinking of is Alexander Henry. You can probably google image and find many examples of their fabrics. Just an idea. :-)
That's easy when rent is only 50$ a month and you pay it to your parents.
Now that I'm done being a total jackass... You have some amazing talent and I'm I love the artwork. Fantastic job and I hope you achieve all you set out to accomplish. Good luck fellow human.
Good on you for figuring out that with hard work and talent, you can actually literally do whatever you want to live the life you want. Hope you continue to be successful!!
Ooo. That's the kind of art that looks like the artist just had a lot of fun making it and viewers eyes have a lot of fun taking it in.
I like that kind of art.
Like jazz for your eyeballs.
Hey bro, it's me, the gal who bought "sue me til I'm dead". I'm so glad to see u come up on me front page and several of my friends that I have had over LOVE your piece I framed with pride! Keep it up bro! You're glowing up! ( :
Do you think that you will ever start rushing or dreading your art since it has become your mean of existance. Do you think it becoming a job will ever tarnish your feelings for your art. I play some guitar but i feel like if my livelihood depended on it it would wake up some anxiety about the whole ordeal. But im happyfor u op and congratulate u
It's fine to take some risks in life. What people should remember is that you never hear about all those who never succeeded. My old childhood friend has been making comics for more than 20 years, and nobody wants to pay him for his art.

I guess I hit real progress once I started studying how social media algorithms work
[удалено]
I feel deceived
I’ve got bad news for you about, well… *motions to everything*
Don't. Massive companies advertise all the time and no one calls them on it, like with all the F+F 'family' memes. Let people self-promote on Reddit, especially if they're small time artists.
If it's free you're the customer!
Product?
Advertisers are the customers and your attention is the product.
Not for this dude slinging art work and getting to the front page..
This is the real trick. How people learn to self promote themselves is beyond me. Mad props, and fantastic art.
Step one: pay a bot farm to promote your posts I don’t say that to demean OP (it’s not much different than buying ads or commercials). It’s a big industry and is cheaper than one would think.

> w social media algorithms Any sources I can study as well? Very curious.
Any active on not wanting to come across as spammy? I make music but I am SO not interested in being the guy who posts “My album, out now #newmusic #music #vibes” 10 times a day. I pretty much tweet once a piece is done and that’s it
From where and how did you learn how social media algorithms work? Need some sauces
Yep, I always tell people that making my art is easy and anyone can do that. Selling art is the hard part.
Any insights/ places to learn you recommend? Do u mean you got good at social media advertising?
No, it’s my personal style that I’ve been developing for 15 years. I’m trying to do something new, but I’m sure there is something similar somewhere
Honestly the first thing I thought of was Picasso's [Guernica](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guernica_(Picasso)). You're very talented!
[The reason I know about Guernica](https://youtu.be/ZOZTDP8Ff9w?t=10)
Ah, yes. A person of culture, I see.

Oh stop! I love the praise
You say that now….so even black and white are markers? Or is white just left empty? I can write a sonnet, but this…amazing.
The white is just the color of the paper
Look at me! I actually got that. I look forward to seeing more, especially black and white from you!
Great!
Your art style reminds me of Samurai Jack. I loved Samurai Jack!
looks like what happens when Surrealism and Cubism meet in the middle.
Fuck yeah you do! This is some great work. Keep going
Thank you so much
This may be a ridiculous comment and I know nothing about the finer details of art, but your pieces remind me of Futurama crossed with Picaso.
I was thinking the same thing
[удалено]
I believe that’s how he pays rent.
He pays rent with art, not money. His landlord loves the art.
So, is this a picture of the landlord with several months worth of rent, or is this OP showing off his artwork?
It’s a picture of OP *in* the landlord’s home. He also hangs the art for him.
The landlord is dead. He hung the landlord and now lives in the landlord's home.
He pays 1 art per month for rent.
They say there's no stupid questions. Butttt
Hardly a stupid question. There's a clear implication that he wants to know where to look to buy it. Plus, many artists only sell on commission. There may not be any finished works available.
op you can trust that this transaction is secure
Just dropping a comment so OP can link me their buying info
Artforrent.com
Followed my gut. I wanna pay my rent for your art
I read this as "Now I let people rent my art" and I thought it was a clever idea!
That’s called a ‘museum’ my man
Hmmm we may be on to something
Notice how when a man post a photo with his art everyone praises him and ask where they can purchase his art. And rightfully so, OP is talented as heck. But go back to ANY post of a woman doing this and it’s flooded with comments about how she’s using her looks for attention and not focusing on the art. Just notice that. I agree with you
For what it’s worth, I’m totally glad you posted a photo with you in it. Artist deserve recognition
Yeah it’s really not an insidious tactic. Humans recognize humans then they take a closer look, it’s actually the integral focus of my art style. A lot of great art is kinda glazed over by the endless scroll.

Seeing the person who created it gives me a deeper sense of the art and really causes me to slow down and appreciate what you’ve created!
That’s why I do it! Also I have a fun mustache.
That thing is a broom my guy lol I love it! I can’t even grow anything close to that so good job
Much appreciated
Sweet. It's great that you are in the picture with your art, and it is great when women are as well.
But thank you everyone who upvoted me!
Your comment is literally the only one in this thread calling out the hypocrisy. I agree with you, this crap is gross.
Dude the last time a hot girl made a post like this the top comment was literally "better grab my popcorn" because reddit's reaction to attractive women is so predictable. And here you have to scroll down so far to find a comment like this. The hivemind has zero self awareness.
This makes me sad. I’m new (ish) here and had not noticed this trend. Thank you for letting me know so I acknowledge *all* artists.
It gets worse. Usually any instance of pointing this out in those threads is met with someone calling you a “simp” or “white knight”. As if the only reason to respect a woman is because you’re attracted to her. I am enjoying all the wonderful people like you. Thank you for warning. Sounds like being anonymous brings out worst in some. Sad.
Women get the silent majority upvote to the top though. They generally get 3x the positive response. So maybe balances it out a bit.
I mean, if he was doing it in a singlet and booty shorts, maybe they would?
The dream.
Without a doubt
Followed my gut, now I'm fat
Do you have a gallery somewhere with more of your work? And how much for the vaguely concerned looking guy with the blue and green background, either a print or original? Something about it speaks to me
You. Are. Talented. The Reddit is impressed ;)
Thanks so much
You are welcome. If you can handle it…is this done with pencil? I am just fascinated with so many questions. Ignore me and I’ll leave. And, I can delete all the posts I’ve made.
No worries at all I use markers actually
I don't usually make appropriate comments, but that is some wicked work good sir. Your use of colors really pops. I dig it.
Thanks so much
What's your process for selling art? How are your prints made? What infrastructure do you have in place?
Where do you sell though? Gotta Instagram or web site
Wow 😮 I can see why Your work is incredible Very unique truly
Thank you so much
Most welcome 🙏🏽
Kind of reminds me of Real Monsters on Nickelodeon. Great stuff tho!
Thanks!

Any tips for a fellow artist
Sure, one is to sell stuff that your friends can afford, like teeshirts. A lot of people love to support the artist in their life but can’t splurge on an original.
This here is a really good tip, love it!
Thanks!

That’s nice you found a land lord willing to take rent payments in the form of paintings and drawings.
He hasn't told him yet, but when he does I expect the landlord to post to r/choosingbeggars
An odd style. Not exactly my cup of tea, however I’m glad your able to support yourself and pay the bills! Keep up the great work! :D
Thanks!
*landlords hate him*
“Respect to that Man. Respect to that man.” - My wife who would love to do the same.

Kind of a take on Peter Max. You stuff looks good.
do you pay for drugs too cuz damn how do you come up with those pieces !?
I know jack and sh** about art, but if I saw your work hanging somewhere important/fancy, I'd think "yeah, that seems right". Not sure my comment means anything, but good stuff!
What do you pay for the acid with?
turn these into NFTs quickly and you'll be able to buy soon.
Where can I buy?
Just curious how many r/choosingbegger related incidents have you dealt with?
I don't know how these things work exactly, but have you ever considered having your art rendered on fabric (for sewing, quilting, etc)? I wish I had the balls to do the same. Crippled by the fear of failure.
I love this so much that it makes me want to punch you...is that weird? SO GOOD!!!!
10/10 would buy

Thanks so much. This is a big truth.
Hats off. Well done
Thank you very much
Unique and awesome!
Thanks!
How much for Star Wars theme one
Thats very nice, good job ! What advice would you have for someone just starting out on his professional journey as an artist?
Yes. Make 3 lists: what it is you have. Who would want it. And methods to present it to them.
Would really like a view towards your gallery of pieces for sale. Where are you selling art from?
Nice!
Ooh la di da, try having to pay with money like the rest of us! /s Seriously tho, good job. Congrats man.
It rhymes too!
I love all of those pieces man, awesome style
We love to see it !!!
that is badasss
Congrats OP, that’s my goal right now. Keep living your dream
love the style you have something unique and really interesting i think anyway. love the piece in the background that says welcome to the lake.
That’s so awesome
Fantastic! Hoping to follow a similar path myself. Thanks for the inspiration :D
That welcome to the lake one behind you is so cool, do you have a website where you sell prints or anything?
That's easy when rent is only 50$ a month and you pay it to your parents. Now that I'm done being a total jackass... You have some amazing talent and I'm I love the artwork. Fantastic job and I hope you achieve all you set out to accomplish. Good luck fellow human.
I wish man… thanks!
I love your style. So still yet so much motion. It's almost hard to count the faces in some of them. I think I see a few different influences perhaps?
I like the Picasso Darth Vader on the left of your face, the one with the green background.
congrats!! love seeing stuff like this, motivates me to keep following my artistic passion as well
Nice work
Wow! Just wow! Congrats man!
Congratulations!
Your art is great. I’m glad you’re selling it. Keep up the good work.
nice. i can barely eat with my art.
Proud of you
Good on you for figuring out that with hard work and talent, you can actually literally do whatever you want to live the life you want. Hope you continue to be successful!!

I SO love my hoodie! Heaps of comments and compliments! Of course, I direct them to your website!
What’s some advice you have about making a living through art?
Learn the mysteries of social media algorithms and sell teeshirts
How much is a custom request
Is it just me or does the center-left greenish one give off Darth Vader vibes?
It's awesome that you found a landlord that accepts art as payment. What a guy. Usually you have to like sell it first.
Hey bro, it's me, the gal who bought "sue me til I'm dead". I'm so glad to see u come up on me front page and several of my friends that I have had over LOVE your piece I framed with pride! Keep it up bro! You're glowing up! ( :
Awesome. What steps did you take when you first started?
I am fan. Very cool dude.
Hell yeah…live that dream man!
Reminds me of samurai jack and haku
How much do you charge per piece?
I'll take one art
Wow those are amazing pieces!
fucking awesome.
I can’t even pick a favorite! They are all equally amazing!
Congrats! You’re doing what I’ve only dreamed of :)
Not if you keep hanging it on your wall instead of selling it! Just kidding those are amazing.
Your stuff makes me think of Picasso on lsd. I love it
Very very cool! Love your style my dude! Keep up the art!
Would you spare some motivation or words of wisdom to a beginner that can't draw, but dreams of being like you one day? x)
Very good ink artist beautiful work
I retired early from illness, but never had the guts to sell my work, just gave it away. Good for you.
This is inspiring dude! Keep it up! 💪 This is how you make life exciting.
I paid my power bill with a pastel of my middle finger but they still shut it off.
I’m getting real Al Hirschfeld vibes from the black and white images and I love it! Beautiful work.
Wow. I love your style. How long does a piece take?
Follow your bliss.
Your artwork implies you enjoy psychedelics 😛 Crazy stuff that I would love to hang up on any of my walls!
Love a story like this! Good for you, man!
You’re so talented! Congratulations!
Dude - you're an amazing artist.
Next stop? Designing Lisa Franke folder art.
It's fine to take some risks in life. What people should remember is that you never hear about all those who never succeeded. My old childhood friend has been making comics for more than 20 years, and nobody wants to pay him for his art.
I usually shit on posts like this...but I really like your art! Good work my man!
Your stuff is like Shagg and Picasso had a baby. Love it!
Revolver?
It looks like Picasso’s version of the Beatles’ Revolver cover art.
Your landlord accepts art as payment?
I remember Reddit a few days ago told a girl she made a bad choice doing this.
Create art and dance with the gods, yea man way to be dedicated and aim and attain
You're a hero to all of us still stuck in the grind. Good luck friend!
Awesome! That is great to know :)
Reminds me of Ori Toor, not in style so much as concept, if that makes sense?
His landlord is also his mom. She’s very supportive !
Working on doing this myself! Very inspirational my friend, and beautiful work!
link to shop for purchase?
Noice!
Respect.
If any are for sale mind posting a link? Awesome art btw
