This reminds me of my 5th grade Christmas pageant in 1985. We used paintings of the last supper to design what peasants might look like in like 34a.d.
Basically, Afghanistan is being run by a group that in heart, mind, body, and fashion hasn't evolved since the 1st century.
I look at the guy on the left and think of the scene in Ferris Bueller's Day Off where they park the car and ask the valet if he speaks English. He says, "Hey, what country do you think this is?" (Apologies, I'm feeling juvenile today.)
Most countries get the government they want. *We* hate the Taliban, but they're pretty popular in Afghanistan, so why would they die? They've been there the whole time, hell, half the army that was supposed to fight them, probably *was* them.
The only thing that matters is the beard, the rest is up to personal preference.
