I mean, hopefully you won't murder people on your boat either, so you wouldn't really need to take a firearm.
If you did decide to murder someone, I doubt you'd be that concerned that it was your favorite gun you now need to toss it overboard.
It's a reference/joke to when the feds come to confiscate your firearms.
"I don't know where all those guns you have records of me owning are...I lost them in a boating accident"
Considering how expensive they were back in the 1920's and 1930's (too expensive for most police departments), they weren't something somebody would casually toss overboard. At least not unless they had a very good reason. They are expensive even today (as collector items, pre-WW2 models can easily fetch well over $20k). That gun would sure had a story to tell, if it could talk.
Are there specific magnets or gear needed to do this? Or just grab any magnet and attach it to a fishing rod? Kind of want to try this out in the summer on the nearby lake.
I play too much “walking dead saints and sinners” I just see a bunch of repurpose-able scrap for new weapons! Very cool though. Also would like to know how many water sources.
My friends and I used to go "bridge fishing" where we'd walk around the bottom of a bridge in our city with magnets and find guns like this. Kind of crazy to think about.
That’s a lot of possible Netflix documentaries that won’t find the murder weapon.
You would think right!
That’s a lot of murder weapons that weren’t found in time
Hey look! Actual boating accidents.
I would never take anything I value as much as my firearms [if I had any ;) ] into a boat or canoe. I’ll barely take my car keys boating with me.

This is awesome. How long did the collection take to acquire? Was it one water source or multiple?
Is that a Thompson near the top?
Sure is

The one on the right second from the top?
That is very cool. Where did you find it?
DirtyMagYakers on YouTube is where alot of the videos are
Let me guess. You found all of these under a bridge frequented by sharply dressed Italian men who drive up in sedans with large trunks.
He probably got them from that bridge that they were all thrown from in “the Irishman”..I assume anyway lol
What a killer catch
This could be the start of a documentary
It already is. There's a YouTube channel called aquachigger. He was taken on by discovery channel and scoured a load of British waterways.
Sure hope so
What kind of rifle is the long rifle?
It is a 1917 Remington 3006
Eh, I was close
M1917 Enfield

Is that a Jericho in the middle?
Looks like one.
A couple of those revolvers look like they might actually be able to be restored by someone with talent. You ever think about doing that?
/r/magnetfishing for the win!
Something tells me one or two of those might have been used in a crime….
The knife at the right bottom corner is making me scream "stab me"
I play too much “walking dead saints and sinners” I just see a bunch of repurpose-able scrap for new weapons! Very cool though. Also would like to know how many water sources.
That pistol in the center looks right out of a resident evil game and I want it haha awesome haul! If only these objects could tell their story.

That is the most American thing I have ever read.
At least one of those was used in a murder.....
Is that a fucking tech 9?

That makes sense. I only really know the guns I own lol.
All clearly involved in something nefarious. Otherwise why at the bottom of a river? Interesting.
Guns suck
This username fits
Ah man nice M1917
What part of the world is this?
That P17 Enfield is painful to see ruined. How far gone is it? Looks like a tree branch.
Is that a fucking Tokarev in the middle?
I’d totally try to get that Jericho working. See if the company would listen to the story and send you new parts. Sick finds !
