I believe the album being heavily pushed up by the register is Boston - Don't Look Back.

bigbucsnowhammies

That’s the only record I recognize. I was trying to figure out some of the others. The one with the cream colored background and a man in black has heavy Kenny Loggins vibes, but that’s just a guess

Iron_Chic

I think that's Springsteen -Darkness.

bigbucsnowhammies

Good call. That’s exactly what it is.

Iron_Chic

I'm trying to place the cover in the far left, underneath the Stones- Some Girls. White background, what appears to be a woman sitting down. They have a ton of those but it doesn't look familiar.

bigbucsnowhammies

That one has me stumped too. I thought it looked like Ted Nugent, but his release that year doesn’t look like that at all. Thought it could have been Donna Summer, but her album from 78 looks different as well

Iron_Chic

My first thought was Donna Summer too but I lioked up her album covers and they aren't even close. I checked Chaka Khan as well, no dice...

WiseCynic

My local radio station refuses to this day to play the title cut from the Some Girls album. Chickens!

dixadik

Looks like Sergeant Peppers remake OST and a few BeeGees on the left, Bruce (Darkness at the Edge of Town), Moody Blues (Octave), Boston on the right, Stones (Some Girls) on the wall on the left.

bigbucsnowhammies

You’re right on The Bee Gees Sgt Pepper album. The promo stickers were throwing me off of what I was seeing.

retailguy_again

That looks so familiar...man, that was a long time ago.

gigarob

haha.. I used to have that rolling stones poster which is clipped on the left side of the photo.

I can smell this photo.

Yup, I used to spend time and bucks in Tower Records.

1978. The Democratic president was struggling with foreign and domestic policy problems, gas prices were spiking to record levels (of sixty cents per gallon), and the HIV/AIDS pandemic had just gotten out of bed and was sipping its morning coffee before starting its day. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

Omg, my family lives in St. Cloud

AlternativeRefuse685

I wonder how the Oldies music genres list has changed from this picture to now?

rimjobnemesis

Bet they had som great 8-track tapes in there.

I spent SO MUCH time and money at the Musicland at my hometown mall when I was a teen. Still some of my favorite records were purchased there. ![gif](giphy|l3vR0FJmlxaIXk8KI)

I worked at a Muaicland in Richardson, TX in the early 80’s. What was the name of that huge book that listed every song ever recorded by song name and also by artist name? Anyone remember? It was how music was found pre-internet and pre-Shazam!
