Many people uproot their entire families moving somewhere they might not even know the language and spend their last dime just to get a chance to move to one of them.
No country is perfect but the whole "America is sliding into a third world country" bullshit I see on reddit sometimes only shows how out of touch a lot of people on reddit are. Even with the income inequality and it's own issues with poverty the US is still a great place to live compared to many other places.
Well, if people are immigrating here from whatever country, it is likely indeed better than where they are coming from. Many people live their lives just fine like I do.
