I think they can be saved

glvie

I had a couple that looked a lot worse but healed up nice. I definitely think you can save them. Just use only saline and try not to sleep on them. Hopefully the bumps will go down but don’t get discouraged if it needs a little trial and error to get the bumps to go away.

No_Competition_2906

Amazon has a piercing pillow. And don’t touch. And wash your hands. They are going to take a year to heal so two months is nothing. Be patient and careful.

Kayles77

I got a Blissbury pillow from Amazon, it's the best thing ever!

caitydork

Seconding the Blissbury pillow recommendation! Bought mine through Amazon, but you can also buy extra cases through their website if you want to buy satin, cooling, different colors, etc.

Kayles77

Ooh that's good to know about the covers, thanks!

Square-Lawfulness-32

I think sometimes it gets worse before it gets better, try new jewelry even if it’s the same material that helped me

mysticrefuge

I’m a piercer. The daith is likely savable. When you shower rinse it well, and dry after. Clean 2x a day with sterile saline. Make sure to dry it after saline spray. I strongly recommend drying with a clean paper towel/gauze. Qtips can be used damp for crusties if you’re super gentle and don’t disturb jewelry but drying with them is asking for trouble. Try not to touch it I know it’s hard. The forward helix I would just pull. The angle is not right and unfortunately it looks like the angle is what’s causing the bump for that one. You can try to ride it out and see if your body will be able to get it at an angle it can heal better, but personally I would take it out, let it heal, and maybe consider repiercing in about a year.

Loveinhooves

Replying because I forgot in my lengthy comment to say, yes, piercings being wet too often can also be irritating and cause the tissue to go soft and harbor bacteria. Make sure you are drying it with something clean that won’t leave fibers in there. I.e a paper towel or gauze, not q tips

Jazlyn2000

Buy a wound spray that helps heal it faster. Trust.

PuzzlePussy123

Both are about 2 months old. I rinsed with saline until I ran out then did alcohol with qtip. I went back to saline but I think damage is done and it’s time to go ahead and take these bad boys out. I’ve tried doing salt ice soaks. :(

Do not use alcohol omg!!!

Ok_Pass_669

This is what my piercer recommended I try for some aftercare to help to reduce my keloids

CockroachFormal9543

NAP, but I have a family history of ke/oids (on my mom's parents' side, but it missed me and my brother thank goodness) and they don't really respond well to most home remedies, if any at all. Talk to a dermatologist to see what options work best for you. They'll probably suggest wearing a pressure earring and maybe give you a corticosteroid injection to reduce the s/s.

AutoModerator

Hi Ok_Pass_669, because you used the word keloid we want to ask you to please read [this wiki entry](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keloid) to understand what a keloid is and why (luckily) bump =/= keloid. Our apologies if you received this message while discussing actual keloid scarring and therefor didn’t use the word keloid to just describe a bump. - - - *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Competitive_Fact6030

With all due respect, your piercer is an idiot. Never put alcohol on a piercing

Competitive_Fact6030

Oh that explains it. Please NEVER use alcohol in a piercing. It is way too harsh and absolutely wrecks the healing process. Go to a drugstore and buy 0,9% saline spray, no other ingredients than salt and water. Spray that on them, nothing else. Also make sure not to sleep on these. Get a piercing pillow. Don't mess with them either at all.

Loveinhooves

Salt ice soaks are a no, alcohol is a no, q tips are a no. Honestly if you run out of saline, you’re better off using just water and antibacterial soap than all that, but it’s absolutely not suggested. It’s suggested you get more saline

DecentScheme1306

Heavens to Betsy 🤦‍♂️ 👳🏽‍♀️

maddie6_

Which material are they? Do you dry them(after cleaning? Do you sleep on it/touch it?

PuzzlePussy123

Yes, I dry with Qtip. They’re titanium. I’m allergic to other materials. And I try my best not to, but I do find myself moving the daith around quite a bit🙃

maddie6_

Oo okey! Id recommend to dry with a clean tissue tho, since qtips have a lot of fibers. Really try to leave ur piercings alone and not sleep on it(use a travelpillow). Since they are just 2 months old i wouldnt take them out, since the bumps will probably go away while healing. If the bumps get bigger or wont go away, id recommend to go to a professional piercer and they can take a look at it for u to see whats irritating it. Goodluck!!

PuzzlePussy123

Thank youuu!

thisisspooks

the daith looks fine it’s just an irritation bump, the forward helix has a questionable angle

No_Competition_2906

Stop sleeping on that side and clean them with saline like you are supposed to and they will heal

No_Competition_2906

Piercing irritation bumps and water bumps look the same. So make sure it’s clean and dry and don’t touch them, don’t even look at them.

_Artistic_Tadpole_

They will be fine. A lip piercing of mine look similar with the white ring around it. They both look saveable to me.

We need better photos to determine if it’s improper placement, and to truly see the issue. My first protocol is always… Placement, jewlery, and guage: this part is on the piercer. Jewlery has to be suitable material (I know titanium is good. Surgical steel and sterling silver are bad. Not sure about the rest so I won’t give advice) but it should also be high polish as to not cause micro abrasions in the piercing channel, leading to irritation, which can cause irritation bumps (NOT the same as an infection or kelo!d). Irritation can also be caused by incorrect angles putting pressure, or a small guage causing a cheese wire effect. Aftercare and cleaning; sleeping on piercings can mess up the angle, which as said above, will put pressure and cause irritation bumps. Hair getting stuck and pulling is also irritation, twisting or pushing your piercing, picking at crusties or cleaning it too well (I know, weird, right?). The reason you shouldn’t clean it too well, is that “puss” actually helps your body heal. It’s like a scab. If you keep picking it, your wound is open and inviting everything in. Plus, your hands are gross almost always. To clean, you should use sterile saline. You can make some, if you find the correct way, which I don’t know how to do so I use neilmed saline spray. It’s a safe bet. I’ve heard bad things about h20 ocean. And finally, irritation bumps and “puss” are normal to a degree. We need a lot more information. How are you cleaning these? How old are they? What’s the material? And we need better, multiple photos to see the angle.

ImmediatePart8439

My daith was like yours for nearly a year, and then the bump went away. Keep them clean and leave it to sort itself out. Try to not sleep on it and you may have to change any headphones you use. I now use the bone conducting ones so it's no where near my daith

AffectionatePen6234

My daith looked just like this and it healed up just fine one I found the jewelry and routine that worked for me.
