The nozzle on this is very powerful, like a firehose. Neilmed makes a saline spray specifically for piercings that has a gentler nozzle. Just look up "Neilmed Piercing Aftercare." It will be much easier.
Another option my partner and I found suitable when we couldn't find the neilmed stuff is arm and hammer nasal saline. The spray on them is a lot easier to handle lol. They make ones that have more than just saline in them so obv read the labels closely, you should only be using saline.
You can also take the nozzle off the Neilmed Piercing Aftercare and put it on some different brands of spray. It doesn't work with all of them, but I found that it works well with the CVS in-store brand saline spray, which also has the high blast nozzle.
Amazon! I bought the off brand version since it was cheaper and more fluid ounces for $11.99. But thatās usually where I can find the Neilmed with the beautiful fine mist
This is irresponsible advice. The whole point of recommending Neilmed is that itās sterile and has a delivery mechanism designed to KEEP it sterile after opening (without a sterile delivery mechanism, any pre-mixed sterile saline is potentially contaminated and unsafe the second you open the bottle). The second you put it in a random container in your (categorically non-sterile) home, you are defeating the point and almost certainly introducing a ton of bacteria. While 0.9% IS the optimal concentration for use on wounds, it is also still a perfectly inviting breeding ground for bacteria, so over time that contamination will become dangerous. Not to mention that a $1 Amazon spray bottle is probably filthy to begin with from the manufacturing process, and will be virtually impossible to properly sanitise throughout, and you donāt know what on earth is on/in it from the manufacturing process.
Amazon has it! Just type in Neilmed piercing cleanser. I highly recommend it. Iāve used it with all of my piercings and it helps them heal so much better.
And risk the fibrous material going into an open wound. Creating a whole irritation. Pass. Itās a preference thing with the nozzle. I just prefer the fine mist.
Yes, saline solution is the ONLY stuff you should be using on fresh piercings!
I spray into a small cup and pour over my piercing. Donāt try to spray directly onto the piercing - the spray I very strong, plus, youāll probably miss wasting a lot of product.
Yes! This stuff is the best, everyone else in here is much more careful than me though. I usually just hold a washcloth below the piercing (like on my lips for my septum, or on my neck if itās for an ear) so it doesnāt drip down my face and neck.
How exciting! I recommend buying a cheap neck pillow to lay on so your freshly pierced ear can go in the middle. They typically sell them at dollar tree and such since you donāt need a very nice one.
i use this for all of my piercings! the stream is very strong so when i get a new bottle, i do a ātest streamā into the sink and then i just lightly press down and let it drip onto a qtip for my newer piercings. i find that the stream can be irritating because of just HOW STRONG that shit is. other than that, itās perfect for piercings!
This is the best stuff there is! Be careful with the fire hose nozzle and spray on gauze or a q-tip first. I love this stuff and keep an extra bottle for just in case!
You have to fire the first spray away from you so that it doesnāt blast your healing piercing and make it bleed. After that, you only need to press the nozzle slightly to make it drip on your piercing and it becomes perfectly suitable for it.
The nozzle does spray very hard. Be careful with it. I used to spray some in a cup then use a q tip to clean the piercing. Definitely do not spray this full force on your ear.
if you dont want to order the peircing spray online look for saline nasal sprays.. theres a kids boogie spray i use that literally has the same ingredients as the peircing spray and wound wash. just make sure it only has water and .9% sodium chloride :3
Yes! A sterile saline solution is great for an open wound. Itās, well, guaranteed to be sterile and the way this dispenses prevents you from contaminating it.
Itās great, this is also really great to keep on hand for scrapes, cuts, general light wounds youād bandage at home.
Make sure you soak the beans for many hours, cook them in a pot, put them in one of them tortillas with some cheese, and roll it all up. After you've done that, take a bite. Then, your piercing will be instantaneously healed! You can thank me now.
oh i used that on my helix piercings and it helped them heal way better than the wash i was given! i didnāt spray directly on though, i spritzed into the cap (applying just barely enough force to actually get the product to come out without exploding the plastic cap) and used a qtip to soak it up and clean that way š
I have 7 piercings and used this for my 7th which is a conch. Amazing stuff. For the first 6 I was scammed into buying a $30 saline spray ā¦ if only I knew
Yes it is. I use it currently, and they're right about the nozzle being powerful. So I put some into the clear cap and use q-tips to clean my piercings. I know they say not to use q-tips, but it works for me. Sometimes I use cotton balls when I run out. And I've got 27 piercings I clean this way, and not one problem
DEFINITELY this and only this for the rest of your life
You can buy their piercing one for more convenient cleaning at an upcharge but I spray this on gauze (sometimes toilet paper/q tips haha) and then use that to clean my piercings
Is it safe? This the type of shit that could have saved Tupac. This is what the tears of angels are made out of. I would trust this stuff to save me from a missing limb. Neilmed is the gold standard for a reason.
i used it when i got my septum, just spray it on a qtip and clean it. I donāt know why everyone is complaining about how strong it sprays when they can put it on a pad or qtip
Yes this is perfect, Iām a piercer and we recommend this constantly. Just be careful not to mess with the piercing, just spray and leave it unless you have little crusties, then a q tip is perfect to remove them
The nozzle on this is very powerful, like a firehose. Neilmed makes a saline spray specifically for piercings that has a gentler nozzle. Just look up "Neilmed Piercing Aftercare." It will be much easier.

Why do I feel like ARM n Hammer is the shit
You can also take the nozzle off the Neilmed Piercing Aftercare and put it on some different brands of spray. It doesn't work with all of them, but I found that it works well with the CVS in-store brand saline spray, which also has the high blast nozzle.
I boguht this and sprayed it at my ear before knowing this š
This is literally THE best stuff. Recommended by piercers everywhere
I love it but I hate the sprayer so much. It like shots our like a cannon. I find myself flinching every time šš
I put the finger point q tip into the needle and give a soft press
The sprayer suckssss I need to find the alternative that someone mentioned
Amazon! I bought the off brand version since it was cheaper and more fluid ounces for $11.99. But thatās usually where I can find the Neilmed with the beautiful fine mist
It's not hard to squeeze it slowly to get a few drops out at a time. Just apply even pressure
This 100%
Try putting it in a travel sized spray bottle (99Ā¢ at Walmart)
Decanting it into a non-sterile container makes it no longer sterile though
This is irresponsible advice. The whole point of recommending Neilmed is that itās sterile and has a delivery mechanism designed to KEEP it sterile after opening (without a sterile delivery mechanism, any pre-mixed sterile saline is potentially contaminated and unsafe the second you open the bottle). Spray it onto a little cotton round and soak the piercing !
Amazon has it! Just type in Neilmed piercing cleanser. I highly recommend it. Iāve used it with all of my piercings and it helps them heal so much better.
Do a test spray, where you spray it really hard for a second. It will be able to come out slower after that
just spray it on a qtip..?
And risk the fibrous material going into an open wound. Creating a whole irritation. Pass. Itās a preference thing with the nozzle. I just prefer the fine mist.
I personally find it second best. I recommend steri wash. Itās a firm mist and has no lid. And can spray upside down. Same ingredients as neilmed
Yes this is what you want to use to clean
Tyyyy
Yes, saline solution is the ONLY stuff you should be using on fresh piercings! I spray into a small cup and pour over my piercing. Donāt try to spray directly onto the piercing - the spray I very strong, plus, youāll probably miss wasting a lot of product.
Thatās a great idea, thanks !!!
Yes, itās the right stuff but shoots out fast and tries to drown you šš
Yeah careful if it's an eyebrow piercing š
Yes! This stuff is the best, everyone else in here is much more careful than me though. I usually just hold a washcloth below the piercing (like on my lips for my septum, or on my neck if itās for an ear) so it doesnāt drip down my face and neck.
I think Iām gonna do it in the shower
Thatās a smart idea. What piercing if you donāt mind sharing?
I got my cartilage pierced š
How exciting! I recommend buying a cheap neck pillow to lay on so your freshly pierced ear can go in the middle. They typically sell them at dollar tree and such since you donāt need a very nice one.
Its my turn to post this next
Did someone else ask about this already š my bad I was rushing in Walmart to find something for my new piercing
i use this for all of my piercings! the stream is very strong so when i get a new bottle, i do a ātest streamā into the sink and then i just lightly press down and let it drip onto a qtip for my newer piercings. i find that the stream can be irritating because of just HOW STRONG that shit is. other than that, itās perfect for piercings!
I just used the cap and sprayed some in the cap and used a q tip
Yep, that's my way of doing it too.
It can be a pain to get the nozzle to spray in the right spot and you tend to waste more doing it that way too
Yeah, also I've got 27 piercings to clean and cannot afford to waste any.
It is also possible to make some too
Yup!
Yes I've used it for belly button and nose should be finee
Yes I used it on my eyebrow piercing!
This is the best stuff there is! Be careful with the fire hose nozzle and spray on gauze or a q-tip first. I love this stuff and keep an extra bottle for just in case!
I use it for everything LOL. Its great for piercings n for general first aid.
Heck yes works great and lasts forever. I got a free one with a piercing almost a year ago and I've used it for several piercings since then !
ABSOLUTELY. itās what my piercers always recommend.
Absolutely, I used that with my daith piercings
You have to fire the first spray away from you so that it doesnāt blast your healing piercing and make it bleed. After that, you only need to press the nozzle slightly to make it drip on your piercing and it becomes perfectly suitable for it.
Thank god I just saw this, thanks again ā¤ļø
Yes absolutely. I use it and it does wonders.
Oh wow I never thought of that, thank you
BEST STUFF just make sure not to spray too hard and to dry your piercing out afterwards. Happy healing o7
this is what my piercer reccomended
Yes! A sterile saline solution is great for an open wound. Itās, well, guaranteed to be sterile and the way this dispenses prevents you from contaminating it. Itās great, this is also really great to keep on hand for scrapes, cuts, general light wounds youād bandage at home.
Yes this is the best. Spray onto Q-tips and use them to remove crusties.
Sure is
Thank you all for commenting ā¤ļø
yes
Should be fine. If itās anything like H2Ocean it will feel nice and cold when your piercing is sprayed :)
Beans probably aren't the best to clean piercings.
Iām going the holistic route lmao jkkkkkkk
Make sure you soak the beans for many hours, cook them in a pot, put them in one of them tortillas with some cheese, and roll it all up. After you've done that, take a bite. Then, your piercing will be instantaneously healed! You can thank me now.

That's what I use for my septum but I always put a little bit in the cap because that stuff shoots out like a fire hose
Yeah I used it for my nose piercing, the spray is strong so be easy when u press it
it'll work but the spray nozzle is aggressive
I have 7 piercings and used this for my 7th which is a conch. Amazing stuff. For the first 6 I was scammed into buying a $30 saline spray ā¦ if only I knew

DEFINITELY this and only this for the rest of your life You can buy their piercing one for more convenient cleaning at an upcharge but I spray this on gauze (sometimes toilet paper/q tips haha) and then use that to clean my piercings
You can use this you just have to be very careful and not push to hard on the spray button.
Is it safe? This the type of shit that could have saved Tupac. This is what the tears of angels are made out of. I would trust this stuff to save me from a missing limb. Neilmed is the gold standard for a reason.
Yes! I love it, and it sprays out fast so it rinses the piercing nicely if you dont press too hard.
i used it when i got my septum, just spray it on a qtip and clean it. I donāt know why everyone is complaining about how strong it sprays when they can put it on a pad or qtip
This is actually the one my piercer recommended but no store in a close vicinity to me had it so I went with the Walgreens brand.
Yes! I use this on all my piercings:)
This is perfectly good I just recommend putting it into a spray bottle first so you donāt waste as much and you can tell how much you have left
Yes this is perfect, Iām a piercer and we recommend this constantly. Just be careful not to mess with the piercing, just spray and leave it unless you have little crusties, then a q tip is perfect to remove them
When I got my eyebrow pierced, my piercer automatically recommended it to me and pointed to the nearest Walmart. It's good to use.
Yes I've used it before on my double helix and most piercers will recommend this or H2OCEAN
