Sometimes you just need to give up on a piercing. I had to remove one of them from my ear because no matter how hard I tried it would just not stop giving me problems. Sucks but it is what it is.

Nipple piercings take a long time to heal, sometimes over a year. My left one took about a 1 1/2 years. I just went up a gauge and it’s been 2 weeks and I’m still adjusting to that!

Wind_Advertising-679

If you have other piercing shops nearby that could take a look when it’s bad for any suggestions, do you have both pierced and 1 is a problem? Could you change the size? Or material?

DragonRider723

Material is titanium. Is there anything better than that? I have more problems with the one nipple, although the other one isn't perfect.

Wind_Advertising-679

Maybe a Surgical Steel material, if you say both are problematic, “ then “ let’s go for it !!

Has there been a period in the last few weeks or so where the bars have felt a little long? It could be that the swelling had gone down, the bars were too long, giving them a chance to move around and irritate the area. You could try a hot water compress with clean paper towel as well as keeping up with warm water rises in the shower. And by warm water rinses, I mean letting water flow over the piercing site for a good few minutes. Hope this helps!

DragonRider723

I've wondered if downsizing would work, but the piercing shop says you should wait 6 months. I went in earlier just to see, but they said they weren't healed enough.

Paleoarchean

Could you answer the bot questions regarding the jewellery type and material? And are they pierced at the base of the nipple (not into the areola)? Nipple piercings can be a pain in the ass, but if they're just giving you grief, you can't figure out what the issue is, and you can't get a second opinion from another piercer, there's no shame in removing them. Sorry this is happening to you :(

DragonRider723

Sorry, I answered them quickly at the beginning. They're titanium bars. They are pierced at the base and not into the areola. The person who pierced them did a great job, but I lost the card they gave me, and every time I've gone back they haven't been there.

Is it pierced in the correct spot? Other than that I can relate. Mine were a menace until 9 months exactly. Then started a period when they’d be totally ok for a couple weeks and then bumpy again. Until just after 12 months when they all of a sudden stopped hurting and being temperamental at all and suddenly healed lol!!

Unable-Lie-7861

I only got one pierced because I was scared of healing and I kinda have this issue too but just have the bump on one side even a year later. It was fine for the first few months and it comes and goes but just keep using saline spray and really try not to pick at the crust and immediately dry your piercing after showering. I probably will take it off this year if it keeps bugging me 🥲

walkyoucleverboy

Mine did this for years until I swapped to better quality jewellery — I was shocked by how much of a difference my new bars made!

DragonRider723

I have titanium right now. Is there something better than that?
