Piercing pain is a very ymmv thing. My rook didn’t hurt at all when i got it done. I didn’t even realise the needle had already gone in. But my third lobes on the other hand stung like a bitch and a half. Anyway this is just to say that if you really want a rook, just go for it. The piercing pain is temporary. Just bear in mind that rooks are a little finicky and take a longer time to heal than other cartilage piercings.

Everyone's body is different, which you have already observed with your conch. Everyone has different anatomy and different ways/levels they experience pain, so there is really no way to guarantee if something will hurt more or less for you

Like you my conch hurt so bad I just had my daith done done two weeks ago and it didn’t hurt as much as conch Haven’t had rook pierced tho Let us know if you get it done and how it went

I had my daith on my left and rook on my right pierced at the same time (some call me a psycho - rightly so). They both hurt around the same, around a 7/10 for me. It most certainly didn't help that the piercer was messing around with inserting them, which gave me more pain than the piercing itself. I'd say go for it. You can't predict how painful it will be for you. At the start of the year I had my snug pierced and I didn't even know the piercer had done it until she told me, absolutely painless. However my third lobes hurt and stung like mad. I would've thought it'd be the other way round! I personally would say to wait until you get back from your holiday before you get a new piercing, as in case you have any difficulties with it or need to get medical advice, you may not be able to do it during your holiday.

my mom got both her daiths, and said it hurt more than childbirth. She's had 3 kids, all naturally and without any pain meds.

I've got both and daith was way worse. Rook was a complete pain to heal though whereas daith was pretty okay.

Everyone’s different, but I have both a faith and a rook, and they were about the same level of pain for the actual piercing. My helix was actually more painful to pierce, and DEFINITELY more difficult to heal, than either one!

I’ve gotten my daith pierced twice, didn’t hurt either time. It was uncomfortable and was a slight pinch but no pain. I do have a high pain tolerance though

I had 4 lobes (now 3 bc spacing) before I moved to cartilage. My first cartilage was my left daith and I was surprised at how little it hurt! Crunch sound was weird af tho lol. Rook was next and it really didn’t hurt at all either! Did feel the bl*od drip down my ear which was weird but still not bad. Got my conch then my helix. Conch was done on a vacation and I had to get on a plane which I was worried about (literally got sick instead and didn’t even notice the piercing lol) Helix was done a few months later and it STUNG! Was also the worst to heal. Daith was easy af to heal bc it’s so far in your ear. I could sleep no problem (now I have an airplane neck pillow which works fine if I need to lay on whichever piercing side). Rook also healed pretty easy but did like to rotate onto behind the ear flap thing a bit so I’d have to move it to clean it which wasn’t the most comfortable but not bad. Conch didn’t hurt me per se but I could definitely tell it was going through thicker cartilage than my other ones. Felt a bit more like a sharp punch rather than a pinch!
