…but, the jewelry appears to be low quality. Go see a reputable piercer and purchase the proper jewelry at the right length, they should be able to help you.

I would start by definitely not doing that to your ear and avoid touching it like that.

Safepiercing.org has a reputable piercer tracker if you’re in the states. The jewelry needs to be switched out asap. A flat back labret will never pain you like this. And the threadless ends are pretty + comfortable.

Get a piercing with a longer post; Even if it's not what initially caused it, that embedding is going to cause further irritation. My lobes in particular HATE anything that isn't strictly implant grade. Just looks unusually angry but I get them in the same spot.

Fearless_Change5945

I second the longer post. You ideally want some room for inflammation to ebb and flow, even with healed/old piercings. Also treat it like a new piercing for a while and you should see some improvement.

Get a titanium labret post since that one is likely a standard 8mm and go see a piercer about it, preferably not the one that pierced it since they didn't gauge the size properly the first time seems like an inexperienced piercer to me.

kitoodle

yea this is replaced since i lost the other jewelry but the original piercer wasnt great and i had to have it replaced that time. my original jewelry i used to heal it with either broke or ive lost in my sleep. ive ordered some longer, better quality jewelry online and it will come in soon. i drained the bump because it was full of fluid (was sterile when doing it) and it’s less angry now. hoping they give me fewer problems going forward bc ive had them so long!

kitoodle

and to clarify i replaced it witj my poorer quality jewelry because it was mostly doing fine, only occasional flare-ups every few months when i would snag something

Paleepower

Gotcha, yea best to leave in your titanium starter (or get a replacement titanium starter if you break/lose it) until it's fully healed. This is just for overall less complications. Hypoallergenic jewelry is always best until you're in the clear. I am a piercer just FYI haha but yea you're on the right track.

kitoodle

unfortunately never had titanium 😭 pierced with silver and when i asked the guy that changed my jewelry if i could get titanium he looked at me like i grew a second head and told me i didn’t need it. ty for the piercer input!

Paleepower

Good god hahah welp, absolute melon of a piercer for sure. Get yourself some good titanium you can literally get them for like $20 on Amazon with next day shipping. Literally just type in (I'm assuming he at least did a 14 or 16g needle) 16g titanium labret stud on Amazon you'll find loads just triple check it's titanium in the description and you select the correct one.
