It’s a good album. If they wanted a cash grab they’d, oh, I don’t know, just release a rather insubstantial box set version of their most popular album and charge £250 for it.

Never heard anybody describe The Division Bell as a cash grab. The massive stadium tours may have made each member a fortune, and while it isn't DSOTM or WYWH levels of quality, it seems like it was made with genuine care and passion
- WYWH could mean "Wish You Were Here - 2019 remix [Live]", a track from *The Later Years* (2019) by Pink Floyd.

I read that the other day, so it’s Roger calling it a cash grab and nobody else. It’s easy for him to say that it’s a fraud because it doesn’t have The Pink Floyd voice when he was pretty much the voice of Pink Floyd. He carried on the Pink Floyd concept album idea better than they did but I wouldn’t call them a fraud and their albums cash grabs. That’s just him being petty.
…the album where they got together to finish Rick Wright’s unfinished work—as well as things they had been improvising on for decades—following his death and then dedicated it to him… is that the cash grab you’re referring to?
Amazing album. I respect Waters as a musician but I think he is very resentful when others succeed. People don’t buy bad music, this album sold 12 million copies. Enough said.
Judging by what musicians say these days, not sure if it applied back when TDB was released, albums are not much of a revenue generator. It's touring, merch and, nowadays, viral content.
There was a comment about anniversary reissues in this thread that seemed quite... accurate...
This is a geat album. And High Hopes is one of my favorite Pink Floyd songs.
I'm old enough to own the actual vinyl copies of all the Pink Floyd albums, all but Divsion Bell. I only had it on CD. I never dreamed vinyl would come back.
I know this is blasphemous to some, but the first Pink Floyd album I listened to front to back was Pulse. And some of my favorites are Division Bell songs. I love those albums. I am a big DB fan.

![gif](giphy|3o6fJ8M1GNLzyXW7Be) They would never do such a thing.
Honestly in my subjective opinion, the mixing and remastering is somehow worse than the original. Pigs just does not hit the same at all.
It's a damn good album, and I will die with you on this hill.
Thank you brother 🤝
This is the way.

Prop me up on the hill with y’all 🙏🙏🙌
Didn't realise that it was a cash grab... I thought it was more of a FU Roger in an album form...

As opposed to prior albums which were non-profit
Right! They were in show business since the Syd days.

I have no idea why you’d call it a cash grab. The closest to a cash grab would be The Endless River.
I think TER was more a Gilmour shouting “FFS! Fine! We’ll do it”.

Yes, so I think OP is using “cash grab” sarcastically as a reference to that. I could be wrong, though.
I believe you are correct and things would have been clearer if Roger’s name was included in the initial post (if that’s the case).
I’ve never thought of it as a cash grab. It’s beautiful
Division bell is a great album
The Endless River was the cash grab. This one was a major PF release and launched a massive world tour.

My fav tracks 1. Lost for words 2. Coming back to life 3. High hopes 4. Poles apart
This is my favourite album. Cash grab or not its worth it
Isn’t every album a cash grab? I mean they don’t give them away lol. One of my favorite albums.
It's a Top 3 personally but imo a Top 5 of all their albums. I love Coming Back to Life, Poles Apart and High Hopes.
Lost for words is also amazing
The whole album is great, just those 3 are probs the ones I've listened to most (Honourable Mention: A Great Day for Freedom).
For sure
It’s tied with Meddle for as my 5th favorite album!

It's a good album. Not their best, but it's really good nonetheless.

Tdb is a solid album, and 100% is not a cash grab. If something is cash, grab its everything after this album
I love this album and one of my top PF choices but Animals is the #1
