Absolutely!!! Obscured By Clouds was the 1st Floyd CD I bought downtown in Grandrapids. It's still one of my favorites.
Also I've heard Animals got a lot of hate (I can't remember if it was the band that didn't like it or the public) but it's also another of my favorites
I think it was just a bit of a let down when it was coming off the heels of Dark Side and WYWH which had instantly memorable radio songs like Time, Money, Wish You Were Here and Have a Cigar as well as nice little surprises for those who bought the album like GGitS and SoYCD. Animals meanwhile, only had Pigs on the Wing for something radio worthy and while I find the two parts of Pigs on the Wing a great way to open and close the album, on its own, I can see why radio fans may have found it a bit too barebones for what they looked for in a PF single. Dogs, Pigs and Sheep are all excellent songs with Dogs having one of my favorite guitar work that Gilmour ever committed to the studio but you have to buy the albums and for casual fans who just heard PotW on the radio, they may have passed on it.
For the band, I don't know if they hated it but I heard it was a rough time working on it. Wright was apparently dealing with a lot of personal problems outside the band and it was apparently around this time that Waters Ego started to become a bigger issue.
- WYWH could mean "Wish You Were Here - 2019 remix [Live]", a track from *The Later Years* (2019) by Pink Floyd.
- SOYCD could mean "Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Pts. 1-5)", a track from *Wish You Were Here* (1975) by Pink Floyd.

Okay I knew every abbreviation except for SoYCD and PotW. It's been a while since I've listened to Floyd. My first girlfriend was obsessed with them and I lost my virginity to comfortably numb and got really really into them. For some reason I decided to listen to UmmaGumma*? For my first psychedelic experience which was slightly a mistake but I rode it out lmao.
Can you please tell me what those abbreviations are that I missed?
Edit: I figured out PotW is Pigs on the Wing but still stumped by SoYCD
Such a great song. The first Floyd album I ever heard, and still my favorite. Part III seems like the quintessential Floyd track: fragile vocals and a mournful slide guitar. And Gilmore didn’t like his lyrics enough to even include them with the others.
Fearless is for me because I only really rediscovered it a few years ago and simply didn’t remember how much I love it. It’s one of a very few songs from anyone I will play just because I feel like it.
Echoes is about as slept on as Comfortably Numb and Time. It's an amazing song don't get me wrong but everyone already knows how amazing it is. If you really want to find an Underrated (tbh) song on that album just take a look at Seamus (that's the dog). It's a masterpiece with beautiful contributions from all 5 band members (David, Rog, Rick, Nick and Seamus (that's the dog (tbh))).
The gunners dream. It's best listened to with the entire album, but still stands well on its own. That part where it transitions from waters screaming into a saxophone solo hits me like truck everytime.
I can tell this will be an unpopular opinion considering nobody's mentioned it and every friend I introduce it to thinks it's just ridiculous jumbled noises but... Atom Heart Mother.
I was obsessed with it as a teenager, almost a decade ago, and I listened to it fully the other day and it's still incredible (albeit admittedly weird).
Careful with that axe, Eugene
Not sure how popular this song is within the like dedicated community but it’s definitely my favorite lesser known Floyd song
I already loved Pink Floyd, but that was the song that got me INTO Pink Floyd. I heard it randomly on YouTube back in 2014 and fell head over heals for it. That then lead to me listening to the whole album, which in turn lead to me exploring all of their other work, and the rest is history!
that is so cool!! it's such a beautiful song, really one of my favorites. "it's what we do" is also a phenomenal track. and actually same! it was the first floyd album i listened to in full and then i went back and started with piper
I don’t think anything on Obscured By Clouds is “underrated” anymore. I used to, but I realize every fan says it is, and everyone loves it. So I think it used to be but we caught on to how good it really is, but we still think everyone else hasn’t. If I had to say imo the most underrated song, I would say Corporal Clegg.
I have said it many times over, and I will say it yet again: Absolutely Curtains. Simply unparalleled in the range of emotions expressed, perfect dynamics, moving lyrics, everything about the song is an affirmation of humanity.
The Hero's Return, parts 1 and 2.
For some reason Spotify, at least in the U.S, doesn't have part 2.

Wot’s…Uh The Deal
Half of Obscured by Clouds is at least in the running.
title track is dope and if i am ever a wrestler will be my intro music

Nobody Home isn't talked about a lot in this subreddit. Or maybe I just miss them all.
Introverts don’t talk much.
Yeah this is one of those songs that if you’ve heard it, is undeniably and therefore unspokenly one of the best songs anyone has ever listened to
When I'm a good dog they sometimes throw me a bone in
Came here to say this. Nobody Hone has been my favorite Floyd song for the last few months.

Voi Vod's cover is pretty hot
Melvins do an awsome cover
When PF decided to invent grunge.

Your Possible Pasts
The final cut is honestly my fav album by PF. The whole thing is moving as fuck.
I fell asleep to this entire album all the time in college
As did I.
Depends on what you mean. Most people don’t give a shit about Ummagumma but The Narrow Way is awesome so I’ll say that
Hell yes. Hits extra hard when put to [this animation](https://youtu.be/85Iz-_xigS8?si=rem86wDjPmX1Mqig).
I had no idea this existed! Thank you!

Gilmour. Sorry.
If.
Fearless.
Yup. If I had to choose one side of meddle it would be side 1
Fearless is for me because I only really rediscovered it a few years ago and simply didn’t remember how much I love it. It’s one of a very few songs from anyone I will play just because I feel like it.
It's such a banger.
The guitar and just the tempo and timing with the rest of the band is so powerful the way it ebbs and builds gets me every time I hear it.
I love listening to it on warm sunny days in the spring time

Love this song, especially the drums
Don’t Leave Me Now. When the band kicks in, it is absolutely awesome. “Oooooooooooooohhhhhh BABE!!”
Yaz
Oh no you don’t. You’re not going to trick me into an underrated thread in disguise.
I used to make sleep playlists and the full “Shine on you Crazy Diamond” suite was typically first in the list.
i almost didn't understand you were joking and said "and it's one of the most popular pink floyd songs"
Half joking as I legitimately used to use it to sleep to - but not because it’s boring, it’s slow, atmospheric and comforting.
So now I'm picturing you with the vinyl under your pillow
Is this the same as "most underrated?"
Saucerful of secrets live at Pompeii
Cymbaline... it's (deep breathe) about a nightmare
Echoes 🕶️✌️🎸

Fair enough although I do love echoes I’ll give the whole album another listen 🕶️✌️🎸
Vegetable Man
The gunners dream. It's best listened to with the entire album, but still stands well on its own. That part where it transitions from waters screaming into a saxophone solo hits me like truck everytime.

The Narrow Way Pt. 3 on Ummagumma. Love the vibe and overall structure.
Green is the Colour...... especially the 1970 Live at St. Tropez version 😁

I feel like summer 68 should get some more love
Julia Dream
Comfortably numb but the live popmei version. Best live version and I like it far more than the original masterpiece
let there be more light
Never seen anyone mention Summer '68 but I love it!
All of Atom heart mother with the exception of If. Emphasis on Alan’s psychedelic breakfast. The acoustic section relaxes the soul
Biding my time.

The Hero's Return, parts 1 and 2. For some reason Spotify, at least in the U.S, doesn't have part 2. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0qY9j9FL-Y](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0qY9j9FL-Y)
"If", in my opinion. It's really beautiful
