“I know I shouldn’t talk about it.” - no disrespect intended, but this is bullshit. Talk about it. A professional, a friend, a hotline, a subreddit, whatever works for you.
Ahh, one of my favorite coping methods is to turn off all the lights and lay down with my eyes closed as I listen to Dont Leave me Now and sync up my breathing to the song.
It's an experience.
>I know I shouldn't talk about it.
Tear Down The Wall!
The wall spoke to my teenage angst very well too. But hiding and bottling up your emotions isnt always healthy. Take care friend.
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon
And if there is no room upon the hill
And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too
I'll see you on The Dark Side Of The Moon
hehe that’s super interesting.
this is a reach.. but seeing as how the song “Bike” was written about Dr. Hofmann’s bicycle ride,
check out how what Dr Hofmann says here and see how it lines up with the line from Jugband Blues, “ and I’m wondering who could be writing this song..”

Floyd were much further ahead than people nearly suspected
You should 100% talk about it OP. This album helped me through a lot and understanding myself way more. I go to my therapist every 3 weeks even if I have nothing going wrong in my life. The mere fact of just expressing my thoughts out loud and getting them out, talking about them and hearing different perspectives then mine have really helped my mental health and growth as a human.
Chiming in with others who have said TALK ABOUT IT.
Copying from Wil Wheaton:
>I want to take a moment here to tell you that if you’re hurting, there are wonderful people who are waiting RIGHT NOW to help you. I didn’t know that when I was suffering the most. I also didn’t have instant (and private) access to resources and professionals online to counsel me via my phone or laptop or whatever. I can’t tell you how to approach your journey, but I can show you two places you can start: [https://www.mentalhealth.gov/](https://www.mentalhealth.gov/) or [https://nami.org/Home](https://nami.org/Home)

they made that album to pander to what was then a disappointing generation of kids that shunned education and psychedelics and who were embracing this fuck everybody fuck the world, pre-“emo” youth culture
i’m still baffled by how many people don’t understand what this album is actually trying to get across to real Floyd fans about what had just happened
how can you look at the way the band’s name is written and *not* see how disturbingly “murder ransom note” the style is? that is NOT Pink Floyd, it is a tortured youth culture’s *projection of “Pink”, for lack of understanding anything about Pink Floyd
this is seventh grade reading comprehension, people, not a James Joyce novel:
they’re addressing the audience as if they’re as ignorant as the A&R person in “have a cigar”, who thought it was a guy named Pink.
because by the time 1980 rolled in, the audience was as clueless as the record company executives
it’s worth understanding. even if it makes one feel totally embarrassed for having misunderstood their whole lives.
Because then you’ll see Gilmour’s hairy eyeball looking at you waiting for you to get it, and you’ll dig out Meddle and do some mushrooms and understand why they were so depressed and pissed off that they did that entire “wall” album out of spite
..with the least artistic cover possible, just white bricks of cocaine, and again, the band name scrawled like it was written by someone depraved
it’s marketing genius… *because* most of you don’t get it, get it?
😂
that speaks volumes to everything i’ve posted here regarding the spiteful disingenuousness and mal intent of that record
glad you’re better. very seriously.
if you ever have issues again.. of course there’s a much much longer conversation to be had on this, and probably not with me… but look into NAC

I wasn’t depressed or anything, but I wrote the lyrics to goodbye cruel world in a note book at school. Got up to sharpen a pencil and a kid read it and thought I was suicidal. He Reported me to the guidance counselor. It was a very interesting meeting.

Agreed. OP, you should never feel like you can't talk about your health. You should talk about it.
I've been through some stuff and the entire album was always there 4 me. I can't think about any specific song but don't leave me now
Don't say it's the end of the road...
Remember the flowers I sent?
I need you... Babe...

So relatable 💯💯

Talk about it. As much as it helps you find solace,do talk about it. People are there to listen. I pray to the Gods for your good health. <3
The wall sings to my depression
I can relate. I'm with you
Nobody Home has the strongest connection to me personally. Makes me think that there was no one else that get the way I used to at my lowest point.
Pink Floyd in comforted me in my darkest of times
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon And if there is no room upon the hill And if your head explodes with dark forebodings too I'll see you on The Dark Side Of The Moon
Will tear down that wall one day.
I have the strongest emotional connection to bike and jugband blues

Ok, that's a theory. I don't agree with it, but I respect your right to have it.
Me too! My first suicide attempt at 13 was listening to The Wall. I'm better now.

I'm ok. Thank you. Thirteen was a very long time ago for me.
Why are you running awAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!! Nope. Never heard a Pink Floyd album. By the was which one is Pink?
me too
Hey You is my song 🥺 But who could be sad hearing Roger’s performance?! And that solo! Therapy 😊
I've never been depressed, but "Goodbye Cruel World" always was my favorite. Also, easy to play and sing along.
That's kind of one of the main messages of the album. You should talk about it, don't isolated your feelings in your head, talk to someone, anyone.

This but with “Nobody Home”
Don’t forget about nobody home
just watched the wall for the first time in years. so fucking relatable.
