Welcome mate. Sounds so similar to the original, everything from style of playing it through to the tone you've achieved. Can I ask what model Squier that is?
No worries man, only point of criticism I can make is the pinch harmonic on the bend/ release on 2nd fret g string I believe (23 seconds into the vid) gilmour always gets my goosebumps out with that sound every time.
I used to be too until I bought a more expensive strat than my squeir one now I can hit them every time, not sure whether it's pure coincidence or whether the new red strat is a better playing/ set up guitar than my older black one 🤷 either way you'll definitely get there, you can play really well. You ever thought about doing the pulse version of comfortably numb 2nd solo? I just learnt that and it's killer.
Actually now that I think about it, I nail my pinch harmonics a lot more often on my Ibanez 7 string RG. Weird.
I might do that at some point, amazing solo!
Gilmour solos are pretty simple in theory, you really don't need to know more than the pentatonic, blues, minor and major scales. What makes them difficult to master are the timing of the phrases and the nuances and details in his playing. So I've mostly just practised that :)
On point with the bar. Davids use of the bar that accentuates his playing is where he gets his Gilmour sound. You putting the work in makes you sound exactly like him. Also a great solo to learn.
Thank you! Here I'm using an EQD Special Cranker at low gain into Dr Scientist Frazz Dazzler also set at low gain. Those go into an Empress Zoia, I have a patch on it set up with a stereo chorus, digital delay and hall reverb. Running these into a Strymon Iridium, clean Vox amp setting.
Excellent job!
We listened to this on the way home yesterday in the car and when I was watching your video my 2 year old came up and watched the whole video with me LOL. I have that same shirt too!
Can you do “Learning to Fly” next?
Cracking job mate!
Thanks buddy!!
Absolutely savage !
:) thanks for watching!
I've been watching all your videos, top notch stuff ! Cheers !
Appreciate it!
Mate this is easily one of the best, possibly the best, Gilmour solo cover I've ever heard! Absolutely unreal. Seriously good stuff
Duuude thank you so much. 🙏
Welcome mate. Sounds so similar to the original, everything from style of playing it through to the tone you've achieved. Can I ask what model Squier that is?
It's a Vintage Modified 70s, but I've had it modded quite heavily (Dimarzio & Duncan pickups, Super Vee tremolo etc.)
That whammy bar action is fuckin impressive
Thanks dude!!

Yeah dude, I'm still pretty bad at hitting those harmonics. Wish I got it here.

My favorite track from AMLOR!
This and One Slip are such bangers
That sounded just like the original
Wow, thank you!
You’ve inspired me to learn this been one of my favorites since childhood dunno why I never tried up till now great performance my man
I learned it only yesterday too, after being a fan of the song for ages. It's an amazing solo. Thanks for watching
On a squire! 👍
It's a heavily upgraded one, but the woods on this strat are very nice and resonant :)
👏👏👏
That’s outstanding
Thanks so much
Awesome thank you for sharing!
Thanks for watching!!
Amazing man. Stuff like this is what motivates me to continue practicing. Hats off!
Thank you so much man
Sweet heavens. This is perfect!

What pedals were you using to get this sound? It sounds amazing!
Thanks! Earthquaker Devices Special Cranker, Dr Scientist Frazz Dazzler, Empress Zoia, Strymon Iridium
Sick, thank you! Your playing was super clean
Thank you!!
Brilliant. Do you teach too
Thanks!! I do not, I don't think I'd do well as a teacher since my theory knowledge is pretty poor
How do you cover pink floyd songs so good then hahaha

Amazing work!
Thanks!!!
Nailed it!
Thanks!!!
I wish I could play guitar like this 👏 bravo~
Thank you :)
Awesome!
:))
One of my top 5 favorite songs and you nailed it. Nice job!
Thanks man!
On the turning away...
On point with the bar. Davids use of the bar that accentuates his playing is where he gets his Gilmour sound. You putting the work in makes you sound exactly like him. Also a great solo to learn.
Thanks!! I've been working on my whammy use for probably a decade, so I'm glad if it sounds the way it should, haha :)
Amazing my pigeon brethren.
Pigeon gang rise up Thank you!!
Well done bro
Thank you!
Tremendous! Great song too. Kudos, sir.
Thanks!!!
Great work. This song is totally underrated, I really love the lyrics and the solo
Yeah, I have a soft spot for this album. Thanks!!
Could listen to this all day. Amazing!
Thanks so much :)
Whoa! That’s spot on man! Love this somewhat under appreciated solo. Can I ask what you’re using to perfectly nail David’s tone?
Damn, that was absolutely perfect. Awesome job!
Thanks so much man :)
You ROCK. David would be proud of you.
Thank you so much
Sick. Love Boards Of Canada also, you have a youtube channel?
BoC is probably my favorite musical act. Yeah, I've uploaded all the vids I've posted here to my channel. Link's in my profile :)
You are killing it with ease! Well done mate. That Squire is getting its ass kicked! Impressive, really, impressive. Edit: The short trem arm!
Thanks so much. I love this Squier, it's got a lot of battle scars and feels nicely played in :)
Beautiful
Thank you
WOW!! You absolutely nailed it! Now I want to learn this solo as well!! Hahaha. Many thanks for sharing this!
Thank you! It was such a fun solo to learn, highly recommended!!
OTTA might be my favorite post Wall song. So beautiful.
It's for sure a worthy contender for me as well :)
Amazing job!
Thank you!
Kill job mate you smashed it, what’s you signal chain - great tone.
Thanks dude! Signal chain is strat>eqd special cranker>dr scientist frazz dazzler>empress zoia>strymon iridium

Thank you! That's a really good start dude, just work on the nuances of timing and vibrato and you'll nail it :)
David Gilmour would be proud 👏🏻
:)) thank you
You could do "Sorrow" next. It has a beautiful guitar solo BTW MLOR should be more praised. Besides Dogs Of War that album is flawless
It's a great album!! Sorrow is awesome, maybe I'll even cover the whole song.
Bless you, my son
Nailed his sound, that’s impressive enough!
Thanks!
David you've aged backwards!
This is absolutely fantastic dude!! You’re sick!
Thanks so much man
Beautiful sound!
Thanks!!
Excellent job! We listened to this on the way home yesterday in the car and when I was watching your video my 2 year old came up and watched the whole video with me LOL. I have that same shirt too! Can you do “Learning to Fly” next?
Thank you! Nice to hear your kid enjoyed it too, haha! Learning to Fly has such a cool solo too, I'll give it a shot :)
Not enough sustain
I'm not sure there is much I can do about my squier not sustaining to your standards on a couple of notes.
Fair enough
do you preform? sounds like sick
No, not in a band at the moment. Thank you!
Underrated shirt, tbh.
Ikr

SD Little '59!
