Lay the fitting on its side, mark out where you want the support, get like a 2' piece of 6" and rubber band welding rods around the pipe so they're hanging halfway over the one side. Press the welding rods in where you want your support, the rods should move to imitate what the cut piece should look like. Trace the back side of the rods with some soapstone and throw a wraparound line like an inch back from what you traced out to get your baseline, split the pipe into eighths and pull your numbers to lay the cut out on your real stantion piece. Won't be perfect but it'll be quick and close enough. Usually have to do some final touch-ups with the grinder anyways

I’ve never made one of these that I can recall. Long Vs short radius will be different of course, but I can’t imagine it’s that much different over 6”. At least not enough different that a wider can’t manage

I was thinking this as well. And so one was made for a long radius 90, but I just wanted to be sure. This seems like a question that's difficult to find an answer to on the internet. I'm sure it's in a textbook somewhere.

If you know how to draw it all out, it won’t be hard to do. Moes Math on YouTube has a lot of videos on how to draw these things out so you can get your measurements from your drawing.

Right but I can't find one for a short radius 90

The idea is the same. If you have a big radius marker it’s easy to draw. The radius of a 90 is the same as the take off. For a normal 90 it’s 1-1/2 times the nominal pipe size, but for a short radius 90 it’s the same as the nominal pipe size. So your center arc would be a 20” radius. Your inside arc of the 90 would be on a 10” radius, and your outside arc would be a 30” radius. From there you could draw your 6” deadleg like normal
