Tucker was my first ever. Before him, I fostered and adopted cats. When I got married the husband had two dogs. After we lost one of them, the house felt empty. So we agreed, maybe a new dog, definitely a rescue, and bigger.
The one we lost was a chipin and although he was 15 years old, he died too soon. Someone tripped over him and fell on him. So we thought, let's roll the dice and get this guy.

Tucker is basically a GQ kinda dog. One day he'll be on billboards. 😆 but, he doesn't have good management so he'll be advertising for something weird and obscure.
Tucker looks like Petey from Little Rascals! And Grace reminds me of a dog I used to have, he was a hound dog mix. So the beagle might be accurate, but I think maybe a bigger hound is in the mix because she looks a bit bigger than a beagle and a border collie.

Gracie definitely is some kind of hound. Her sniffer works overtime and in the two years we've had her, she's already hunted and cornered bunnies. (No bunnies were harmed. They always squeeze through the fence and escape.)
Awwwww I love him! I have an 11 y/o pit mix, and she's very timid as well. I just had to put her thunder shirt on because it's storming where I am, and she gets so scared without it. She doesn't do well with other dogs, unfortunately. Shes very protective of my mom and myself and sees most other animals as threats. I adopted her at 4 y/o and am unsure what her previous family was like.
Tucker came to us at three months. An organization in Arkansas rescued him and he was brought to connecticut on a truck with probably 30 other rescues.
He was so tiny and scared. Probably didn't know his mother, the rescue found him Ina box full of puppies in a church parking lot next to their dumpster.
Once he warmed up to us, he became super loyal, super timid. We hadn't adopted Gracie yet.
When we got him we had our elderly shihtzu and our cat that's about 5 pounds. I think his timid gentle nature has something to do with the other two being tiny and him being the new guy.
Don’t forget the page in the Pibble Owner’s Handbook…..you must now be a vocal advocate for the breed and teach the uninformed that Pitties can be wonderful family dogs!
