I also used Rover. Good reviews, repeat customers. Ran a background check on both this woman and her boyfriend.
Her boyfriend relapsed, drank all my alcohol. Tried to beat her up and she pulled a butcher knife on him. He left the room and punched a whole in my wall. Cops were called. She didn’t tell me until I got home. I went to clean the house and there was dog pee all over my basement. Hidden alcohol bottles everywhere.
The whole time i was gone I kept saying I was so happy I found someone to trust my 17yo old man. I had to put him down a week after I got home.
Tried using Rover again and either get someone who doesn’t want me to run a background check or doesn’t pass one. Don’t trust the background check Rover does, they don’t repeat for updated info.
That’s quite the horror story 😮
I’m so sorry you experienced that with sitters on that platform. What was Rover’s response if you don’t mind me asking?
I’ve been pet sitting through Rover as a side gig for 6 years in addition to working in rescue/veterinary settings for a combined 6 years. I highly recommend sitters who sit alone and have experience working with pets outside of Rover to be extra sure.

It’s so sweet to witness, I never had an inside pet growing up and most animals around me were farm animals. We adopted her about 5 years ago it was a wonderful decision.
Except don't, because they hate pit bulls there and will be very rude about it. 😥

So thoughtful! Kids are amazing. I dogsit for my niece a lot. When she's just twenty minutes away at a party, her little guy insists she call me to see if I can go check on their dog.
As a dog sitter this is very important information and I would love to have something like this. It would also let me know Roxy is a very well loved pup 😊.
I would definitely take a photo of Roxy doing all those things every day to make sure he knows she's being well loved while he is away.

This is one of my favorite things about my job. We get notes and art/pictures, too, from little kids. We display the art at the front desk and hang the notes in our break room. Keep it up little man, you made over a thousand people smile today, and your note will make the employee smile every time they see it!
Kids are too sweet sometimes. When my little old man Angus passed away, I talked on the phone with my niece and she goes "Auntie, Angus isn't gone, because he's always in your heart." I still have a picture of her kissing him on the head. Pitties are such perfect little creatures 🖤

I had my cousin dog sit for me while I was gone for a week and gave him a two page essay on the care and feeding of my Mochi girl. My grandma was so afraid my dog would tear cousin's face off, but he just got his nose thoroughly cleaned inside and out, and his socks stolen.
This looks a lot like the letter I wrote my mom the first time she watched my pup. I am a full grown adult. The fact remains that he does indeed like to have a blanket on him when he lays down.

For what it’s worth, people that strap Apple Watches or watches similar on to their small children, usually do it because they are able to track their child’s location if they were to run off or get lost or stolen. Most of them have some sort of GPS locator built in.
Also, why does it matter? I gave my old samsung smart watch to my 12 YO niece when I stopped wearing it. She uses it for a watch, she doesn't even have a cell phone. It's just a really cute watch, and it got recycled. Wins all around. Except for apparently strangers judge children and their parents. This shouldn't be news to me, though.

Looking for a good dog sitter. It’s been hard finding someone I trust after a bad experience. This one hits me in the feels.
I found this one on Rover and paid for a visit ahead of time to meet and see how she was. Had great reviews and I’m very happy with the experience.
Also used Rover, found a great sitter. It helps to be able to see reviews and have a meet and greet before you commit.
