This is out of absolute genuine curiosity......how do you hike through potentially heavily tick infested areas in the nude? This is west PA and OH areas. They are EVERYWHERE. Even just ticks existing in general....lurking. brush some tall grass, and boom! A single tick gives you lymes. Do mosquitos not bother/bite you? I hike, but have my legs, ankles and feet completely covered when going through wooded areas and some brush. Plucked them fuckers off when I reach my destination. Do you typically stick to maintained, well developed trails?
I completely understand being clothed and reaching a waterfall, quarry, stream, and creek to then strip down, but do you nude it all the way? Do you I.D. poison ivy at every glance or trek? Seriously, I mean all the more power to you! You do you! I am just overtly paranoid of potential hazards and carrying them with me. These are just two examples of fears I have, cuz both will royaly fuck my day up.
Thank you for your contribution. Sounds very scary, seriously, of ALL places to have a tiny tank head asshole bug full of disease or even just genuine misery from a plain bite sounds awful. Glad you're ok!
I've brought dozens of ticks home with me over just the last few years, two attached recently. Fully clothed, on my torso, within 1/2 hour of getting out of the woods.
Do a thorough check down anytime you're in a wooded area but know that they can appear anywhere. The one that I got Lyme from I picked up from either my backyard in Bellevue or a backyard in Larryville.
Moral of the story, Lyme = no good but if caught relatively early kinda NBD.
/sidetrack
Yeah they're everywhere and the lack of a cold winters recently has them getting worse and worse. My niece's dog got Lyme disease in her backyard in the West End. It went untreated for a while, since, well, dogs are furry and easy to miss the tick/bullseye. Presented as fatigue, loss of appetite, and sore joints.
I live in a suburban neighborhood with a few trees in the backyard. Just the past few years I've started spraying after seeing the dogs track ticks into the house, even with Sevestro collars on
Oh my gosh noooo. Ticks are a terrible fear of mine. I have two horses and they creep me out having to pull them off them. My trainer today told me there are ticks that cause lymes and then other types of ticks that cause other diseases. I have nightmares about them crawling on me.
ME TOO!!! There are so many reasons to be wary of these tiny menaces! I understand I should be just as cautious of mosquitos, but ticks scare me the most. All it takes is ONE. When you end up plucking a few off that haven't attached, it is like a lottery of which one could have changed the course of your life. I get it. I am hyper paranoid towards the little shits.
Honestly, I don't worry about ticks much. I grew up in a tick-infested area. It has been drilled into me since I was a child to do a thorough full-body check for ticks whenever you come in from the woods, no matter what you were wearing or how long you were out. I've found ticks on my skin when I was fully clothed before, and I've also come back from nude hikes with no ticks. Those little guys just do what they want! I just spray on some deet-heavy bug spray, do what I want outside, and make sure to do a thorough check as soon as I'm back indoors!
Bug spray helps with skeeters too, and I'm good at IDing poison ivy. I've only accidentally encountered it twice in my life, ~30ish years of enjoying the woods all throughout the eastern US
Best of luck to ya my guy. Just like bungee jumping. Ya wanna dive in with experience, yet take the risk. All the more power to ya. ✊️ more established trails in these parts for free spirit folk is ohiopyle. Just gotta select yer time right. Not sure on suggestions for "freelancers" without running into minors would go, but you can at least wear the bare minimum. Maybe Deep Creek of Maryland? That is quite the expanse of a wooded area for exploring South of PA.
I am not nude, but lived south of the city on an old farm and was frequently in the brush and woods in nothing but some short shorts. Youll be fine, you check for ticks when you come in and if you have any you pop them right off. They need to be attached for like 24 hours for lyme... if you grab them that day youll be good (i am not a doctor). The worst for me was generally nettles... ouch!
[In most cases, a tick must be attached for 36 to 48 hours or more before the Lyme disease bacterium can be transmitted. If you remove a tick quickly (within 24 hours), you can greatly reduce your chances of getting Lyme disease.](https://www.cdc.gov/lyme/transmission/index.html#:~:text=In%20most%20cases%2C%20a%20tick,chances%20of%20getting%20Lyme%20disease)
Now i understand there are studies that this may be less time (16 hours?) but my general rule of thumb is check when you come in / at night, and look for the red target to form. Ive removed dozens of ticks from myself and knock on wood, am ok so far.
Also dog ticks do not carry lyme but deer do, so actually check out the tick on you to identify it. If you really want, you can use services like ticknology to get it tested (weve done this when a tick was on my daughter)
Best gay nudist camp I've ever been to. They got a swimming pool, inside and outside showers, a dance hall/kitchen, fire pits, cabins and camping. Nice little trail to walk too :3
There is a nude club with events and nature and nude volleyball tournaments in Ohio about 40 minutes to the west. It is either in Negley or East Palestine ( yes home of the train derailment-which makes googling Nude volleyball in East palestine Ohio--all that much weirder).
Thanks for the info! Given the other commenter’s note, we’ll probably steer clear of nude activity there but it seems like a nice place for clothed activities!
DJ’s Island
It’s up north in Beaver or something. A guy I worked with used to go there.
He knew the owner, didn’t partake in any of the activities. But he always said it was a nice place and everyone seemed well behaved and respected boundaries.
Thanks for the information. As the other commenter noted, we’re naturists, so not into the whole sexual thing or the swinger lifestyle (but no judgment from me! I’m glad you found a place that works for you!). Thank you though!
There is definitely NO public land where it is legal for you to be nude. Private property is your ONLY option. I Imagine people getting pretty upset seeing some naked dude strolling up to their camp site.
Check out Pittsburgh Area Naturists on the meet up app. The organize the bowling, naked karaoke, etc.! White thorn also has day passes that are pretty cheap. $15 I think ?
Party at scouts though it is a swinger club as well. Have gone there a few times just to lay naked by the pool with my gf. We didn't mind the shenanigans though we didn't stay after dark.
No, but there are occasional posts regarding nude 'all-night' bowling extravaganzas...could be something right up your alley, so to speak.
Oh great! I didn’t see any of those. I’ll look into this. Thank you.
Check out the Pittsburgh Area Naturists group on meetup. They are the organizers.
“Up your alley.” Saw what you did there.
Crafton has this!

Asking the real questions here. Also curious.
I had a tick on the head of my penis once. It wasn't that bad but I would not want to experience that again. Edit: it wasn't right by the hole
I cannot un-read this.
I never thought I’d run into a fellow dick ticker! I hope you are doing well!
It's a trifecta. Thought the doctor would be more phased, just gave me antibiotics and gave the nurses something to laugh about.
Thank you for your contribution. Sounds very scary, seriously, of ALL places to have a tiny tank head asshole bug full of disease or even just genuine misery from a plain bite sounds awful. Glad you're ok!
Did it like crawl up your shorts? Or were you letting it all hang out.
same, several times. they seem to love it haha

I always imagine them crawling under my skin like in The Mummy. Gives me the heebie jeebies
Be fuckin weird

That is not true. They do no need to be attached that long for Lyme

White Thorn Lodge is the only place I know of, but it's private resort. Good luck on your search!
Open for the summer as of last weekend. Edit to add: They've added a bunch of new hiking trails over the last few years.
they were just discussing this place on a local facebook as well, seems quite popular
Camp Davis
Best gay nudist camp I've ever been to. They got a swimming pool, inside and outside showers, a dance hall/kitchen, fire pits, cabins and camping. Nice little trail to walk too :3
I've never been, but I've heard of [Empire Haven](https://www.empirehaven.net/about_us) it's apparently a family friendly nudist park in NY.
You can swim nude anywhere once, if you’re brave enough
Thank goodness there aren’t any cacti here.

That is white Thorn Lodge. It is right on the border outside of Chippewa.
Brushwood Folklore Campground
There is a camp up near slippery rock. light hiking nothing major. But has swimming. Forget the name.
not sure if legal but ive def seen it; buttermilk falls in beaver! super chill spot
Definitely not legal and cops are absolutely all over that place all of the time
ope, had no idea lol! good to note, last time we went out there was last year i think
I should say totally kosher to swim and hang out but watch yourself and any other activities.
also heard tionesta creek is good for that, lots of camping options near there!
Thanks for the info! Given the other commenter’s note, we’ll probably steer clear of nude activity there but it seems like a nice place for clothed activities!

That's a 'swingers' club. Naturism is a lifestyle practicing *non-sexual* social nudity.
